    Return of the Plaguelands: The update brings back the Plaguelands from Destiny 1 as a new patrol zone and location for a new activity.

    New Activity: Reclaim: A new three-player survival activity is being added.

    New & Returning Weapons: The update introduces a number of new Legendary and Exotic weapons. This includes new Exotics and reprised fan-favourite weapons like the MIDA Mini-Tool and Drang.

    Dungeon Lairs: A new “Pinnacle Ops” activity called Dungeon Lairs is being added, which consists of a rotation of dungeon encounters. For a two-week period starting with the update’s launch, the first three dungeons in the rotation—Pit of Heresy, Duality, and Warlord’s Ruin—will be free for all players to access.

    Epic Raid Difficulty: A new, more difficult “Epic” version of the Desert Perpetual raid (from The Edge of Fate expansion) will be released with its own contest mode.

    Sandbox Changes: The update includes a large number of sandbox tweaks, including changes to weapon archetypes, a significant update to the Power Level system, and buffs/nerfs to various Exotic weapons and armour.

    Free-to-Play: As a major update, not a full expansion, “Ash & Iron” is free for all Destiny 2 players.
