Registration is officially now open for the Last Pirates: Die Together Open Playtest on Steam, scheduled to run from April 17–19, 2026.
What is Last Pirates: Die Together?
Developed by the Ukrainian indie team at RetroStyle Games, Last Pirates: Die Together is a 4-player cooperative horror game that trades spacesuits for tricorn hats. You and your crew land on a cursed, monster-infested island with one goal: loot as much treasure as possible to break a powerful curse and make your old captain rich.
The catch? The island doesn’t want you there. You’ll face everything from sound-sensitive monsters to deadly traps, all while navigating a physics-heavy environment.
Key Features to Watch For:
- Elastic Arm Mechanics: Your character features “stretchy hands” that allow you to grab objects, dismantle doors, and interact with the environment (and your teammates) from a distance. Expect plenty of physics-based comedy amidst the scares.
- Co-op Extraction Horror: Work together to find treasure and get back to the ship. Just remember: you only need one person to survive and secure the loot.
- The “Silent Cove” Map: The playtest is expected to feature the Silent Cove location, a sprawling map containing an abandoned manor and four unique monster types that react to your movement and noise.
- Atmospheric Chaos: The game blends a creepy, supernatural atmosphere with the unpredictable hilarity that comes from four pirates panicking in the dark.
How to Join the Playtest
Getting in on the action is straightforward. Since this is an open playtest on Steam, you don’t need a golden ticket to apply:
- Head over to the Last Pirates: Die Together Steam Page.
- Scroll down to the “Join the Last Pirates: Die Together Playtest” section.
- Click “Request Access.”
- Keep an eye on your inbox—you’ll be notified once the “gates” open on April 17.
Looking Ahead
This April playtest is a vital stepping stone for RetroStyle Games as they gather feedback on the core gameplay loop. If you can’t make it this time around, the studio has already teased a public demo for May 2026, followed by a featured appearance at Steam Next Fest in June.
