    What is Mars Attracts?

    Developed by Outlier Games (the team behind This Means Warp), Mars Attracts is a theme park management sim that officially licensed the iconic, cult-classic Mars Attacks™ IP.

    Rather than playing as the puny humans trying to survive an invasion, you take the role of a Martian CEO. Your mission? To build the ultimate Red Planet tourist destination where humans aren’t the guests—they’re the star attractions.

    The Gameplay: Abduct, Display, Repeat

    The game successfully blends the deep, systematic management of RollerCoaster Tycoon with a darkly hilarious, B-movie aesthetic. Here’s what’s on the Martian menu:

    Historical Abductions: Use advanced Martian tech to snatch humans from across history. Want a Roman Gladiator next to a Cowboy from the Wild West? Go for it.

    Customisable Enclosures: You have to build habitats that keep your “livestock” alive—or at least interesting enough for Martian tourists to pay tickets for.

    Twisted Research: Study human behaviour through “experiments” (which range from silly to slightly gruesome) to unlock new technologies and bigger rides.

    Damage Control: Humans are “enclosed-brained” and unpredictable. If they escape, they’ll terrorise your guests, and you’ll have to deploy Martian security to clean up the mess.

    Why It Works

    What makes this stand out on the Steam storefront—where it currently sits with a “Very Positive” rating in Early Access—is the tone. It perfectly captures that 1962 Topps trading card vibe: bright colours, retro-futuristic gadgets, and a total lack of empathy for the human race.

    The aliens are here and once again they are causing havoc for the earthlings in Mars Attracts the theme park management game with an alien twist. Those Martians are setting up a theme park where the humans that have been abducted will now be the star attractions for the visitors to the park. Players are in charge of the park, they must make money and in order to do so they will need to come up with new attractions so the humans must be pushed to their limits and beyond, The Mars Attracts playable demo is available now and the game will be released in Early Access on Steam in 2025.

    It is hard to imagine that the idea of Mars Attacks has been around since the early 1960s, but it has and now the story has evolved into a brilliant theme park management game that at the moment is looking for Alpha Test players to sign up and give the game a good running over with. The game is planned for early access sometime early on in next year, but with the Alpha Test, this gives players the chance to contribute to the development of the game.
