Marvel Rivals Season 8 Is Live: Cyclops and Devil Dinosaur Smash Into ‘Sins of Alchemax’

NetEase Games is keeping its foot firmly on the accelerator. Just as players were wrapping their heads around the chaos of Season 7, Marvel Rivals has officially dropped Season 8: Sins of Alchemax.

The explosive new trailer gives us a gorgeous look at a high-stakes corporate conspiracy, brilliant comic-book narrative nonsense, and a couple of highly anticipated heroes joining the roster. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, prepare your hype meters—things are about to get wild in Nueva York (and Lower Manhattan).

Check out the official trailer below, and let’s dive into everything coming in Season 8!

The Story: Time Plagues and the “Punch Dimension”

The narrative setup for Sins of Alchemax picks up right where the conflict with Mayor Fisk left off. While the Gilded Saint managed to purge the Time Plague from Lower Manhattan, the root of the problem is still pulsing over at the Alchemax Headquarters.

The sinister mega-corporation is currently shielded by a mysterious crimson Chronovium forcefield. In true, glorious comic book fashion, this barrier is fueled by an extradimensional source of pure kinetic force. The twist? Alchemax has captured Moon Girl and Cyclops, using the X-Men’s leader as a literal battery because his optic blasts tap into the “Punch Dimension.”

    New Heroes: A Leader and a T-rex

The biggest news out of the Season 8 trailer is the confirmation of two brand-new playable characters.

    • Devil Dinosaur (Vanguard): Sneakily teased back in Season 6 inside the Museum of Contemplation, the giant red dinosaur is finally breaking free. He joins the roster at launch as a massive, aggressive Vanguard (tank) hero. His kit is built around brute force, crowd control, and leaving enemies with bleeding status effects. His Ultimate transforms him into an unstoppable charging monster that can scatter enemy formations like bowling pins. (Bonus points: The lore confirms Moon Girl is in the story, but on the battlefield, even characters like The Punisher can hitch a ride on Devil Dinosaur!)
    • Cyclops (Strategist/Duelist): Scott Summers is officially entering the fray! Fresh off his massive pop-culture renaissance, the X-Men’s tactical leader has been highly requested since the game launched. According to developer roadmaps, Cyclops is slated to arrive just a bit later in the mid-season Season 8.5 update.

    New Maps and Esports Pushes

Season 8 isn’t just about expanding the roster; it’s completely shifting the competitive landscape.

    • Alchemax Headquarters Map: Dropping on May 28th, this new Doom Match battleground takes players straight into the heart of the corporate beast. Expect high verticality and NetEase’s signature destructible environments as you fight to uncover Alchemax’s darkest secrets.
    • New York: Lower Manhattan Map: A fresh competitive arena is arriving to shake up the map rotation.
    • Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1: The esports scene is getting a massive injection of adrenaline. Starting May 21st, the preseason is officially over, and Stage 1 kicks off with a staggering $650,000 prize pool.

    Project: Heroic Age Battle Pass

Alongside the seasonal narrative, the Season 8 Battle Pass—titled Project: Heroic Age—is now live. It features 10 brand-new, elite cyberpunk and high-tech cosmetics for fan-favourite heroes, including Black Widow, The Thing, Angela, Hela, Namor, and the newcomers.

Marvel Rivals Season 8: Sins of Alchemax is officially live right now as a free-to-play title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).

  • Marvel Rivals Season 8: Sins of Alchemax — Devil Dinosaur Stomps In on May 15!

Marvel Rivals Season 8: Sins of Alchemax — Devil Dinosaur Stomps In on May 15!

The Multiverse is getting a little more prehistoric—and a lot more corporate. Marvel Games and NetEase Games have officially pulled back the curtain on Season 8: Sins of Alchemax, the next major chapter for the superhero team-based shooter Marvel Rivals. Launching on May 15, 2026, this season dives deep into the dark conspiracies of the Alchemax corporation and brings a massive new heavy-hitter to the roster.

    A New Challenger: Devil Dinosaur

The headline of Season 8 is the arrival of the game’s 50th hero: Devil Dinosaur. Stepping into the Vanguard role, this crimson titan is designed to be a frontline powerhouse that punishes anyone standing in his way.

    Abilities Overview:

    • Primal Bite: Inflicts a continuous bleeding effect on enemies.
    • Controlling Hold: Devil Dinosaur can clamp his massive jaws around enemies (especially those already bleeding) to temporarily remove them from the fray.
    • Force Field Shield: Proving he’s more than just teeth and scales, he can deploy a shield to protect his team from incoming projectiles.
    • Ultimate: Unstoppable Behemoth: A devastating charge that tramples through enemy formations, creating shockwaves and chaos.

    The “Primal Cavalry” Team-Up

One of the most unique additions this season is the Team-Up ability between Devil Dinosaur and The Punisher, titled Primal Cavalry.

In a move that is as terrifying as it sounds, Frank Castle can actually mount Devil Dinosaur. While riding, The Punisher gains significant damage reduction and shares healing with his prehistoric steed. Though his mobility-based skills are disabled while mounted, he can still rain down fire with his primary weapons, essentially turning Devil Dinosaur into a living, breathing tank.

    New Map: Alchemax Headquarters

Players won’t just be fighting as new heroes; they’ll be fighting in new territory. The Alchemax HQ map arrives as a Doom Match (Free-for-All) exclusive.

Narratively, the season follows the kidnapping of Moon Girl and Cyclops by Alchemax. While Moon Girl appears as a central figure in the lore and Devil Dinosaur’s kit, Cyclops fans will have to wait just a little longer—the X-Men leader is confirmed to join the playable roster during Season 8.5 in June 2026.

    Events, Skins, and Battle Pass

The new Battle Pass, Project: Heroic Age, features 10 brand-new heroic costume sets. Highlights include:

    • Rogue: Starlit Rebel
    • Jeff the Land Shark: Devil Landshark
    • Gambit: Barrier Buster
    • Hulk: Infinity Hulk Bundle

Players can also participate in the “Devil Dino Hide and Seek” event at launch to earn Units, Chrono Tokens, and Gallery Cards by tracking the dinosaur’s footprints across various timelines.

    Launch Details:

    • Release Date: May 15, 2026
    • Time: 09:00 AM UTC
    • Platforms: Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Epic Games Store.

Whether you’re looking to bite your way through the rankings or uncover the corporate rot at the heart of Alchemax, Season 8 is shaping up to be the game’s most ambitious update yet. Assemble your team and get ready for the hunt!

  • The Hunt Is On With Marvel Rivals Season 7

The Hunt Is On With Marvel Rivals Season 7

The multiverse is about to get a lot more crowded—and a lot more dangerous. NetEase Games has officially pulled back the curtain on Marvel Rivals Season 7: The Hunt Is On, and the headline act is none other than the South Korean super-spy, White Fox.

Launching on March 20, 2026, Season 7 isn’t just bringing new faces to the roster; it’s fundamentally shifting how the game is played. From mystical shapeshifting to a massive overhaul of the “Ultimate” meta, here is everything you need to know before the hunt begins.

New Hero: White Fox (Ami Han)

Ami Han, the last of the mystical Kumiho, arrives as the game’s 48th hero. Sliding into the Strategist role, White Fox is designed for players who want to be more than just a “backline healer.” She is a proactive, aggressive supporter who thrives in the thick of the fight.

    • Role: Strategist (Support/Melee Hybrid)
    • Signature Mechanic: Kumiho Energy. White Fox builds energy during combat, which she can expend to charm enemies or provide massive buffs to her team.
    • Healing & Damage: Her Yeowoo Guseul (Fox Marbles) allows her to damage enemies and heal allies simultaneously, rewarding precise positioning.
    • The Ultimate: Nine-Tailed Form. White Fox fully transforms into a massive, mystical fox. In this state, she gains a massive health boost and unleashes devastating claw strikes that provide lifesteal to her and any nearby teammates.

    Season 7.5 Teaser: Black Cat

While White Fox leads the charge on March 20, she won’t be alone for long. NetEase confirmed that Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) will join the roster as a Duelist during the mid-season update (Season 7.5) in April. Expect high-mobility, “hit-and-run” gameplay that rivals Spider-Man’s agility.

The Story: A Temporal Plague in New York

The narrative stakes are skyrocketing. Forces from 2099’s Nueva York are spilling into modern-day Manhattan, bringing a “temporal plague” with them.

The chaos has led Mayor Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) to declare martial law, turning the city into a high-tech war zone. Players will battle across a brand-new map, Lower Manhattan, featuring the aftermath of an Alchemax assault where futuristic architecture is literally overwriting the present.

Massive Meta Shift: The “Ultimate” Nerf

Perhaps the biggest news for competitive players is a global balance change. To combat “Ultimate spam,” NetEase is implementing a universal 20% reduction to Ultimate energy charge rates for every hero in the game.

“We want to encourage neutral gameplay and reward mechanical skill over back-to-back ability spam,” the developers noted in the recent Dev Vision.

    Other Key Balance Changes:

    • Buffs: Blade, Hulk, Black Panther, and Scarlet Witch are all seeing significant power bumps to make them more viable in the new meta.
    • Nerfs: Meta-dominators like Doctor Strange, Winter Soldier, and Elsa Bloodstone are being dialled back.
    • Team-Ups: A new synergy, Blessing of the Kumiho, arrives for White Fox and Luna Snow, while older Team-Ups like “Jeff-Nado” are being temporarily retired.

    New Features & Competitive Updates

    • Triple Ban System: Competitive matches will now feature three bans per team, up from two, giving teams more strategic control over the lobby.
    • Personal Performance Placement: Your starting rank for Season 7 will now factor in your individual performance during placement matches, not just wins and losses.
    • Album System: A new in-game feature allowing you to capture and save cinematic moments from your matches.

Marvel Rivals Season 7: The Hunt Is On goes live this Friday, March 20, at 9:00 AM UTC. Whether you’re a Strategist main ready to master the Kumiho or a Duelist looking to navigate the neon-soaked streets of a fractured New York, the meta is about to change forever.

  • Unleash the Horde! Marvel Rivals Drops the Game-Changing Zombie Mode!

Unleash the Horde! Marvel Rivals Drops the Game-Changing Zombie Mode!

Get ready to swap your standard team fights for a terrifying fight for survival! The world of Marvel Rivals is about to be utterly transformed with the introduction of its very first player-versus-enemy (PvE) mode: Marvel Zombies Mode!

Timed perfectly for the spooky season, this isn’t just a simple event—it’s a massive, co-op, horde-survival experience that’s shaking up the hero shooter’s core formula. Here is everything you need to know about the new nightmare that just arrived in Midtown!

? What is Marvel Zombies Mode?

In a thrilling collaboration with Marvel Animation (which produced the excellent Marvel Zombies Disney+ series), NetEase Games has unleashed a terrifying PVE experience. Up until now, Marvel Rivals has been purely a 6v6 PvP team shooter, but this new mode throws the rulebook out the window.

Marvel Zombies Mode pits a team of four heroes against endless waves of the infected. Your primary objective is survival, completing set objectives, and ultimately going toe-to-toe with terrifying infected bosses.

? Who is Ready to Fight the Undead?

You won’t be able to pick from the full roster in this mode, as only a select few heroes are ready for the apocalyptic challenge. The current roster of zombie-slayers includes:

    • Thor
    • Blade
    • Magik
    • The Punisher
    • Jeff the Shark

Crucially, these heroes aren’t just copy-pasted from PvP. They’ve been granted unique, mode-specific abilities to handle the hordes. Imagine charging through a swarm as Jeff the Shark, or using Blade’s bouncing Moon Blades for massive area-of-effect damage. Magik, for instance, can access her unlimited Darkchild form—a genuine powerhouse against the undead!

    ? Progression and Challenge

This mode isn’t a one-and-done deal. As you survive rounds and complete missions, you’ll earn progression that allows you to unlock powerful buffs called “Khonshu’s Blessings.” This creates a loadout system, letting you customise your hero with unique Traits and ability changes to build the ultimate zombie-killing machine.

And if the base difficulty isn’t enough to make your super-senses tingle, there are up to seven difficulty levels to climb, guaranteeing a brutal challenge for even the most coordinated teams.

    ? Boss Fights and Rewards

A zombie horde is one thing, but zombified superheroes are a whole other level of terror. Players will face off against devastating bosses, including Zombie Namor and the elusive Queen of the Dead (who appears to be an infected Scarlet Witch). These encounters will demand perfect teamwork and execution of your new abilities.

Beyond the thrill of survival, there are fantastic rewards to chase, including new zombie-themed hero skins for characters like Blade, Spider-Man, and Scarlet Witch.

    ?? Get Into the Fight!

The Marvel Zombies mode launched on October 23rd, just in time to celebrate Halloween!

If you’ve been looking for a break from the competitive grind or just want to experience a truly unique Marvel Rivals gameplay loop, this is your chance. Grab your squad, choose your champion, and prepare to hold the line against the infected.
