    The Catch: While you don’t need to hunt for a Respawn Beacon, the process takes seven seconds, is incredibly noisy, and highly visible to nearby squads. It’s a literal “clutch or kick” mechanic that rewards squads for wiping an enemy team and holding their ground.

    Meta Shifts and Legend Buffs

    Axle isn’t the only one getting an upgrade. Respawn is doubling down on movement and utility for some of the roster’s favourites:

    • Conduit: Receives an extra Tactical charge and improved mobility.
    • Vantage: Her ultimate now features improved handling and a 2x canted optic, making her far more dangerous in mid-range “quick-scope” scenarios.
    • Chain Healing: A new quality-of-life feature allowing players to queue up healing items (like a Battery followed by a Cell) to trigger automatically.

    Platform Updates: A New Era

    Apex Legends: Overclocked marks a significant milestone for hardware. While the game launches across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, it is also optimised for the Nintendo Switch 2.

    Notably, this is the penultimate season for original Nintendo Switch players; Respawn has confirmed that support for the legacy Switch hardware will officially end with the launch of Season 30 in August 2026.
