Register for the Last Pirates: Die Together open playtest on Steam

Avast, ye scurvy dogs! If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you mixed the high-seas chaos of Sea of Thieves with the heart-pounding extraction horror of Lethal Company—all while possessing “elastic arms” that would make Reed Richards jealous—then RetroStyle Games has the project for you.

Registration is officially now open for the Last Pirates: Die Together Open Playtest on Steam, scheduled to run from April 17–19, 2026.

What is Last Pirates: Die Together?

Developed by the Ukrainian indie team at RetroStyle Games, Last Pirates: Die Together is a 4-player cooperative horror game that trades spacesuits for tricorn hats. You and your crew land on a cursed, monster-infested island with one goal: loot as much treasure as possible to break a powerful curse and make your old captain rich.

The catch? The island doesn’t want you there. You’ll face everything from sound-sensitive monsters to deadly traps, all while navigating a physics-heavy environment.

    Key Features to Watch For:

    • Elastic Arm Mechanics: Your character features “stretchy hands” that allow you to grab objects, dismantle doors, and interact with the environment (and your teammates) from a distance. Expect plenty of physics-based comedy amidst the scares.
    • Co-op Extraction Horror: Work together to find treasure and get back to the ship. Just remember: you only need one person to survive and secure the loot.
    • The “Silent Cove” Map: The playtest is expected to feature the Silent Cove location, a sprawling map containing an abandoned manor and four unique monster types that react to your movement and noise.
    • Atmospheric Chaos: The game blends a creepy, supernatural atmosphere with the unpredictable hilarity that comes from four pirates panicking in the dark.

    How to Join the Playtest

Getting in on the action is straightforward. Since this is an open playtest on Steam, you don’t need a golden ticket to apply:

    1. Head over to the Last Pirates: Die Together Steam Page.
    2. Scroll down to the “Join the Last Pirates: Die Together Playtest” section.
    3. Click “Request Access.”
    4. Keep an eye on your inbox—you’ll be notified once the “gates” open on April 17.

    Looking Ahead

This April playtest is a vital stepping stone for RetroStyle Games as they gather feedback on the core gameplay loop. If you can’t make it this time around, the studio has already teased a public demo for May 2026, followed by a featured appearance at Steam Next Fest in June.

The full release is currently targeted for Q3 2026.

Whether you’re in it for the loot, the monsters, or just to see how far you can stretch your pirate’s arms before something bites them off, make sure to register before the April 17 launch. See you on the island!

Pro Tip: In Last Pirates, silence is your best friend. Those monsters have ears like bats, and your “loyal” crew might just use your screams as a distraction to make it back to the boat with the gold.

  • Into the Iron Corridor: Phantom Line’s Open Playtest is Live

Into the Iron Corridor: Phantom Line’s Open Playtest is Live

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if the tactical precision of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. collided with the reality-bending horror of Control, you’re about to find out. Antistatic Studios has officially kicked off its latest open playtest for Phantom Line, and it’s a massive leap forward for the “paranormal SWAT” shooter.

From March 3 to March 10, 2026, players can jump into this post-nuclear co-op experience to see just how much the “Iron Corridor” has changed.

    What is Phantom Line?

Set in a post-nuclear European continent, Phantom Line casts you as an Operator for Mortfield Industries. But you aren’t just a soldier; you’re part of the H.U.S.K. program, allowing you to transfer your consciousness between artificial bodies.

Your mission? Hunt down “anomalies”—supernatural threats leaking into our world through rifts in space-time—while navigating an open world where dynamic events and warring human factions make every excursion a gamble.

What’s New in the March Playtest?

This isn’t just a minor patch. Antistatic Studios has effectively rebuilt the game’s core—the “3Cs” (Character, Camera, and Controls)—from the ground up. Here is what you can expect:

The H.U.S.K. Training Facility: A brand-new area at Mortfield to hone your tactical body-swapping skills.

The Nuclear Icebreaker: Your upgraded base of operations. You can now customise your cabin, modify your gear, and prep for missions on the main deck.

Total Control Overhaul: Expect a rewritten movement system, improved camera responsiveness, and fresh animations that make the gunplay feel “punchier.”

Enhanced Atmosphere: Advanced spatial audio and refreshed biomes make the haunting environments of Eastern Europe even more immersive.

    How to Join the Hunt

The playtest is open to everyone on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

Pro Tip: The developers are heavily focusing on community feedback during this window. If you encounter a bug or have a suggestion on the H.U.S.K. mechanics, hit up their Official Discord.

    The TechMash Verdict

It’s rare to see an indie studio tackle “Immersive Sim” design with this much scale. With veterans from Cyberpunk 2077 and BioShock at the helm, the pedigree is visible in every glitching anomaly and brutalist corridor. If you’re looking for a tactical shooter that trades typical military tropes for eldritch horror and high-concept sci-fi, this week is your best chance to see if you have what it takes to “go die again.”
