    The Grand Event: Haunted Masquerade (New Game Mode)

    Forget everything you know about classic Overwatch team fights. The main event of Season 19 is the new limited-time mode, Haunted Masquerade, a frightful PvP experience that turns the battlefield into a shifting, magical party.

    The core of the mode revolves around mystical masks that your hero can don. When you equip the mask of an allied hero, you gain specific abilities or buffs based on whose mask you’re wearing. This isn’t just a cosmetic change—it entirely alters your hero’s kit and creates insane new synergies!

    What to Expect:

    • Ability Mash-ups: Picture the scene: Winston wearing a Tracer mask, gaining access to her Rewind ability, or Orisa’s Javelin attack, leaving behind a Sojourn-like Disruption Field. The creative combinations are truly wild.
    • Lore-Linked Synergies: The mode celebrates the relationships between heroes, offering special benefits for “lore-linked” hero mask pairings. The ultimate fan-service moment? The ability for Reinhardt and Brigitte to combine their shields for an iconic, defensive stance!
    • A New Kind of Mayhem: This mode is all about creative, quick-thinking plays. Expect a chaotic and fun environment where your hero’s abilities are constantly changing, forcing you to adapt to the new masked meta on the fly.

    New Treats and Terrifying Cosmetics

    It wouldn’t be a Halloween-themed season without a whole host of monstrous skins and a new Mythic to chase!

    ? The Battle Pass & Mythic Skins

    The Season 19 Battle Pass is stuffed with spooky styles, including Legendary skins that lean into classic Halloween tropes:

    • Legendary Skins: Look forward to horrifying new looks like Oni Cassidy, Vampire Moira, Ninja Sombra, Mermonster Wuyang, and One-eyed Wilhelm Reinhardt. Epic skins for Echo, Zenyatta, and Torbjorn are also ready to be unlocked.
    • Mythic Riches: This season is doubling down on Mythics! You can unlock the beautiful Divine Druid Lifeweaver as the centrepiece hero skin of the Battle Pass. Later in the season, a second Mythic, Cyber Fuel Junkrat, will arrive alongside a new Kiriko Spirit Keeper Mythic Weapon Skin.

    ? Returning Horror

    Fear not, fans of the classics! Season 19 also sees the return of fan-favourite co-op PvE modes:

    Beyond the main event, Season 19 brings some major updates to other areas of the game:

    The game’s popular competitive mode, Stadium, is getting a massive injection of new content:

    • New Heroes: Sojourn, Torbjörn, and Hazard are joining the Stadium roster, ready to be powered up with new builds.
    • Introducing Gadgets: The Armoury is getting a game-changing update with the debut of Gadgets. These are powerful, single-use items that you can buy and use for a huge edge in team fights. Examples include the Colossus Core for an unstoppable push, and Kitsune Charm to cleanse negative effects.

    ? The Return of One-Punch Man

    A fan-favourite collaboration is making its triumphant return! Keep an eye out for the One-Punch Man crossover skins and items to make a reappearance, giving players who missed them a second chance to add the heroic cosmetics to their collection.
