Boot Up the Nostalgia: Village Studios Unveils ‘Hack ’95’ at PC Gaming Show—And the Demo is Live!

Hold onto your floppy disks and fire up your dial-up modems, because the golden age of computing is making a massive, neon-soaked comeback.

In a worldwide exclusive at the PC Gaming Show, developer Village Studios officially announced Hack ’95—a computer hacking RPG that brilliantly mashes up retro desktop simulation with tactical card-battling mechanics. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like an elite Hollywood hacker from a 90s thriller, this is your ticket back to yesteryear.

Even better news? You don’t have to wait until the late nineties to play it. A free demo is live on Steam right now!

Dialling Into the Plot: Geeks, Freaks, and Big Tech Conspiracy

Set in a fictionalised, pixel-perfect reimagining of 1995, the game drops you into the shoes of an employee at the shady Axis Megasystems. Your elite hacker best friend, mega_hurtz, has gone missing under incredibly suspicious circumstances, and it’s up to you to navigate the corporate desktop infrastructure to uncover the truth.

To solve the mystery, you’ll have to hack your way from underground IRC chatrooms straight to the heart of an evil tech startup and a shadowy government agency. The writing team features some serious industry pedigree, with the script overseen by veteran games journalist and bestselling author Keith Stuart, and game direction by Will Luton (formerly of SEGA and Rovio).

    According to Stuart:

“The culture of the internet and videogames in this era was so weird and dark, yet wildly optimistic. And although it’s set in ’95, the story is really about rebelling against big tech and regaining the freedom of the net. It couldn’t be more timely.”

Cyberpunk Meets Yu-Gi-Oh: How It Plays

Instead of forcing you to memorise actual command lines or C++ strings, Hack ’95 translates cyber warfare into a highly addictive, pick-up-and-play deck-builder. Heavily inspired by 90s trading card games like Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh, you’ll draw scripts, viruses, and hijacked computer protocols to overpower the firewall defences of target devices.

Outside of the card battles, the game is an immersive love letter to old-school operating systems. You’ll be browsing the web on “Navigate ’95,” dodging flaming GIFs, listening to licensed 90s dance bangers from artists like N-R-G and Nookie, and taking advice from Assistant Bert—an incredibly helpful, mildly incontinent virtual pug who acts as your Microsoft Clippy-style companion for federal cybercrimes.

    Jack In From Today

Hack ’95 perfectly captures the thrill of exploring someone else’s desktop, discovering forbidden folders, and sticking it to the man—all while a CRT filter warms your eyes.

The full game is coming to PC, but you can download the Hack ’95 Demo on Steam today to play through the opening sequence, test out your deck-building skills, and meet Assistant Bert.

The Red Nun Returns: Stormind Games Drops Bone-Chilling Gameplay Trailer for Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy

Survival horror fans, rejoice—and maybe leave the lights on. During today’s PC Gaming Show, award-winning video game developer and publisher Stormind Games officially pulled back the curtain on the third instalment of its acclaimed psychological horror franchise, debuting a terrifying first look at Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy.

If you thought you were safe from the horrors of the Ashmann family, think again. The nightmare is far from over.

A Journey into Terror on the Slopes of Mount Etna

Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy serves as the final chapter in the trilogy, acting as both a standalone story and a direct conclusion to the events of Tormented Fathers and Broken Porcelain.

Set twenty years after the original game, the story follows Susan (voiced by BAFTA winner Cissy Jones) on a desperate search for her missing daughter, Agata. Following a mysterious audio recording, Susan’s quest leads her to a decaying noble estate isolated on the eerie slopes of Mount Etna. What follows is an intense descent into madness, where family secrets, memory distortion, and obsessive horrors collide.

What’s New in Red Nun’s Legacy?

Stormind Games is pulling out all the stops to make this the most atmospheric entry yet. The trailer highlighted several key features that will test both your reflexes and your sanity:

    • Horrific Stalkers: True to the franchise’s roots, you are the prey. You’ll need to hide, evade, and smartly utilise the environment to escape relentless, terrifying enemies—including the Red Nun herself, voiced by The Game Awards winner Maggie Robertson (Resident Evil Village).
    • Hypnosis & Perception Powers: Players will be able to read objects to unlock forgotten memories, manipulate the environment, and reveal hidden passages to solve complex puzzles.
    • The Sound of Silence: Horror royalty Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) is composing the game’s haunting original soundtrack, ensuring every creak and shadow leaves you on the edge of your seat.

“Red Nun’s Legacy blends classic survival horror, stealth, and psychological trauma, introducing brand-new mechanics centered on perception and environmental manipulation.” — Stormind Games

    Release Windows and Platforms

Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is shaping up to be a massive love letter to old-school horror fans. The game is slated to launch later this year on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can already head over to Steam or the Epic Games Store to add it to your wishlist.

  • The Last Flag capture-the-flag shooter out in April

The Last Flag capture-the-flag shooter out in April

It’s official: the “not too sweaty” shooter of your childhood dreams finally has a release date.

Night Street Games announced today that Last Flag, their quirky 5v5 capture-the-flag (CTF) shooter, will officially launch on April 14, 2026.

Founded by brothers Dan and Mac Reynolds (of Imagine Dragons fame), the studio is aiming to reclaim the magic of neighbourhood games played in the woods at night—minus the actual poison ivy and plus a whole lot of 1970s game show style.

Why “Last Flag” is Turning Heads

While the market is crowded with “hero shooters,” Last Flag pivots away from the typical “deathmatch-with-a-flag” formula. Instead, it focuses on the literal hide-and-seek mechanics that make the classic game fun.

    Key Features at Launch:

    • The “Hide” Phase: At the start of every match, one player hides the flag while the rest of the team prepares. You have 60 seconds to find the perfect sneaky spot.
    • 70s Retro Aesthetic: The game is framed as a high-stakes televised competition hosted by the mysterious Victor Fex, complete with disco-era vibes and original music recorded on vintage gear.
    • Strategic Radar Towers: Teams battle over three towers (A, B, and C). Capturing them doesn’t just grant territory; it slowly eliminates areas on your minimap, narrowing down exactly where the enemy hid their prize.
    • A Roster of “Contestants”: At launch, you’ll have a colourful cast of characters with distinct kits, like Alejandro and his Bunker Buster Bazooka or Camila’s Quantum Entanglement Ray.
    • Short, Punchy Matches: Designed to be played in under 20 minutes, making it the perfect “one more round” game.

Where and When Can You Play?

The game is hitting PC first, with console players having to wait just a little longer.

    PlatformRelease Date
    PC (Steam & Epic Games Store)April 14, 2026
    PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|SLate 2026

Pro Tip: You don’t actually have to wait until April to try it. An Open Beta is running now through March 2 as part of Steam Next Fest. If you play now, you can earn exclusive “Lunar Gold” skins that carry over to the full launch.

    The Vision: “Fun First”

CEO Mac Reynolds notes that the game was inspired by the brothers’ adventures growing up. The goal was to build a competitive game that rewards strategy and exploration as much as it does twitch-reflex aiming.

With a modest one-time purchase price and a promise that future contestants and maps will be included for free, Last Flag is positioning itself as a breath of fresh air in an era of microtransaction-heavy live services.
