    The wait is finally over. After months of speculation following its reveal at The Game Awards 2025, Fuse Games just dropped the official gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer™ during the February 2026 State of Play.

    If you were worried this would be a “clean” corporate racer, think again. This is gritty, underground, and looks like it was built by people who genuinely miss the “move or die” intensity of Burnout and Episode I: Racer.

    The Setting: Chaos in the New Republic

    Forget the Jedi and the Sith. The game is set in the lawless Outer Rim during the New Republic era (shortly after the fall of the Empire). With the galaxy rebuilding, a power vacuum has opened, filled by The Galactic League—an unsanctioned, high-stakes racing circuit backed by shadowy syndicates.

    Key Gameplay Features

    • A “Runs-Based” Experience: This isn’t just a series of laps. Tracks feature branching routes and dynamic environments that change mid-race. You’ll need to make split-second risk-reward decisions.
    • The Fleet: You aren’t limited to one vehicle type. The trailer showcased:
      • Podracers (including the return of fan-favourites like Sebulba and Ben Quadinaros!)

    You play as Shade, a lone-wolf pilot with a grudge against the current League champion, Kestar Bool.

It’s not just about being the fastest; it’s about building a machine that can survive a league where “no rules” is the only rule.

    The visuals in Unreal Engine 5 are stunning, taking us from the familiar sands of Jakku to lush jungles and industrial cityscapes.
