Stars, Strategy, Survival — OGame Launches Project Orion, Its Biggest Update in Years!

Hold the line — the galaxy is calling. Gameforge has today unveiled Project Orion, the most ambitious content drop in the history of its legendary free-to-play space strategy MMO OGame, bringing PvE combat, wave-defence warfare, and a wealth of fresh features to the cosmos. Public testing is live right now across browser and mobile platforms, with full rollout scheduled for November.

Defend the Anomaly — Wave by Wave

At the heart of Project Orion lies an all-new wave-defence system, the first time players have faced NPC enemies in the game’s 24-year history. Commanders must secure mysterious anomaly locations against relentless, escalating fleets of computer-controlled foes — ranging from pirate raiders to terrifying Deathstars. Hold each position, repel every assault, and claim valuable loot with every wave defeated.

    • 25+ mission types — from brutal fleet assaults to resource-run operations, each requiring distinct tactics and fleet setups
    • Scaling threat — enemy composition and strength grow alongside your Interstellar Anomaly Scanner level; no two missions play exactly the same
    • Rich rewards — earn ships, resources, Dark Matter, Lifeform XP, and even premium items for every successful defence
    • Public peril — all missions are visible to everyone in the universe; rivals can contest your claim, steal your location, or attack your fleet mid-defence — PvE and PvP collide in real time
    • Alliance co-op — team up with up to four other commanders to tackle the toughest anomalies and share the spoils

    New Resources, New Choices

Project Orion reshapes your empire management with Lithium, a brand-new strategic resource produced by converting Metal, Crystal, Deuterium, or surplus Lifeform food. Lithium powers all Orion operations and cannot be traded or stolen — making efficient conversion and planning your key to dominance. A new Control Centre offers nine upgradeable structures dedicated to boosting your Orion capabilities, while a refreshed mission interface and tutorial guide ensure even veteran commanders find their bearings.

    Timeline

    • Now — Public Test Server live on browser and mobile; dive in and shape the update
    • November 6, 2026 — Project Orion launches in all newly opened universes
    • November 30, 2026 — Global rollout across all existing universes; every empire joins the fight

The galaxy has never been more alive — or more dangerous. Assemble your fleet, refine your strategy, and lead the charge into the unknown.

  • Prepare for Space Warfare: Team Complex Unveils Epic Era One Multiplayer Mode Ahead of Gamescom!

Prepare for Space Warfare: Team Complex Unveils Epic Era One Multiplayer Mode Ahead of Gamescom!

Sci-fi RTS fans, assemble! British independent studio Team Complex has officially dropped a brand-new trailer for its ambitious space strategy title, Era One, right ahead of Gamescom 2026.

The latest gameplay trailer shines a bright spotlight on the game’s heavily anticipated multiplayer mode, giving commanders their very first look at head-to-head tactical space combat against real opponents. If you’ve been itching to test your fleet designs and base-building strategies against rival players in real-time, your moment is rapidly approaching.

    Tactical Combat Meets Unmatched Customisation

Era One has already caught the attention of real-time strategy enthusiasts thanks to its deep mix of sandbox base building, resource management, and tactical fleet warfare. Born from a team with legendary roots in the 90s modding scene—including the acclaimed Complex mod for Homeworld—Team Complex is bringing serious RTS pedigree to the table.

In Era One, you aren’t just giving orders to static units; you’re building them piece by piece. Key highlights showcased in the new gameplay reveal include:

    • Competitive Player-vs-Player Warfare: For the first time, players can face off in intense 1v1 tactical battles and custom multiplayer matches across the cosmos.
    • Modular Base & Ship Design: Build massive space stations, sprawling orbital cities, and bespoke warships using modular components. Customise everything from hull layouts to utility systems and heavy weaponry to fit your playstyle.
    • Gripping Lore & Atmosphere: Set in a distant future where humanity has fled a depleted Earth, you follow the journey of Alya De Shars through a shattered universe—all set against a hauntingly beautiful original piano soundtrack by Alberto Selvaggi.

Playable at Gamescom 2026 (Plus Big News Incoming!)

If you are heading to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany (August 26–30), you won’t have to settle for just watching the trailer.

Team Complex will be hosting hands-on demos for the multiplayer mode at the Home of Indies booth in Hall 10.2. Attendees will get to jump straight into the captain’s chair and try out the base-building and multiplayer combat mechanics firsthand.

Even bigger news: Team Complex has confirmed that during the show, they will officially reveal the long-awaited 1.0 full release date as Era One prepares to graduate out of Early Access.

    How to Get Involved

If you can’t wait until Gamescom, Era One is currently available in Early Access on Steam, where it continues to hold “Very Positive” user reviews. Check out the official trailer today, wishlist the game on Steam, and prepare your fleet for intergalactic domination.
