Streaming for Survival: Half Past Yellow’s Co-Op Horror ‘Stream Train’ Hits Steam This October

Get your cameras ready, charge your streaming gear, and tell your chat to get their donations primed—Half Past Yellow has officially announced that their upcoming co-op horror title, Stream Train, will officially launch on Steam on October 15, 2026.

Known for their past hit Time on Frog Island, the Copenhagen-based indie developer is taking a dark, thrilling turn into the world of multiplayer horror and influencer culture. Stream Train pairs high-stakes survival horror with real-time stream management mechanics to create an unpredictable, chaotic adventure designed for up to six players.

    All Aboard the Uncanny Valley

In Stream Train, you and up to five friends squad up, customise your avatars, and hop aboard an old steam train venturing down an abandoned railroad into the Uncanny Valley. The mission? Explore terrifying, cryptid-infested wilderness, investigate derelict buildings, and document the horrors lurking in the dark—all while attempting to go viral.

Rather than just hiding in the shadows, your survival in Stream Train relies on how well you interact with your live audience:

    • Dynamic In-Game Chat: Your simulated viewers aren’t just background noise. They will actively react in real-time, issuing challenges, making absurd requests, and expressing their boredom when things slow down.
    • Keep the Donations Flowing: Fulfilling viewer requests, pulling off risky pranks on teammates, and capturing terrifying jump scares on camera will keep the chat engaged—unlocking vital donations and support needed to survive the night.
    • Face the Monsters (Or Just Film Them): From ghosts and cryptids to vengeful forest spirits, the Uncanny Valley is packed with threats. The golden rule is simple: try not to make the creatures angry—or, if that fails, make sure the camera keeps rolling when everything goes horribly wrong.

A Fresh Twist on Social Horror Games

“The team have poured their heart and soul into Stream Train, and we are excited to get the game in front of players,” said Remy Stuurwold, CEO of Half Past Yellow. Game Director Max Wrighton added that bringing livestreaming mechanics into a social co-op survival format felt like a natural fit, merging the fun of chaotic “friendslop” multiplayer games with genuinely spooky gameplay.

Sign Up for the Upcoming Playtest

If October 15 feels too far away, gamers won’t have to wait until launch night to hop aboard. Half Past Yellow has also opened sign-ups for an official pre-release playtest, accessible directly on the Stream Train Steam page. You can head over now to sign up for the test, add the game to your Steam wishlist, and get ready for a spooky autumn release.
