Ukrainian indie developer RetroStyle Games is officially releasing its highly anticipated 1–4 player co-op horror comedy, Last Pirates: Die Together, into Steam Early Access on August 18, 2026.

Following a wildly successful public demo—which racked up over 300,000 players and propelled the game to nearly 200,000 Steam wishlists—this chaotic nautical nightmare is shaping up to be one of the summer’s biggest multiplayer hits.

What is Last Pirates: Die Together?

Imagine combining the frantic, team-dependent panic of Lethal Company or Phasmophobia with the swashbuckling, cursed lore of pirate mythology—and then pouring a heavy dose of slapstick comedy over the whole thing. That is Last Pirates: Die Together in a nutshell.

You and up to three friends step into the boots of a ragtag pirate crew navigating treacherous, haunted waters. Your goal? Work together to scavenge valuable treasure, outsmart terrifying sea monsters, dodge cursed traps, and somehow make it back to your ship alive.

    • A Perfect Blend of Horror & Humour: One minute you’re screaming as a monstrosity from the deep stalks you through the dark; the next, you’re laughing hysterically as your friend accidentally triggers a booby trap and launches themselves off a cliff.
    • Proximity Voice Chat: Communication is key! Use in-game voice chat to coordinate with your crew—or listen in dread as your teammate’s panicked screams fade into the distance.
    • Dynamic Scavenging & Replayability: Every run offers fresh encounters, cursed artefacts, unpredictable hazards, and eerie locations that will keep your crew on their toes.

From Ukrainian Indie Roots to a Viral Smash Hit

Developed by RetroStyle Games, an accomplished Ukrainian studio known for its art and game development expertise, Last Pirates: Die Together has already proven it has a massive audience waiting in the wings.

During its demo phase, the game blew past expectations, attracting over 300,000 players who jumped in to test their nautical survival skills. • Return to the Zone: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 – Heart of Chornobyl Unleashes Massive Update 2.0 This August 20!

Return to the Zone: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 – Heart of Chornobyl Unleashes Massive Update 2.0 This August 20!

Get ready to check your Geiger counters and strap on your gear, Stalkers! GSC Game World has officially announced that Update 2.0 “Back to the Zone” for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch on August 20.

Packed with major engine upgrades, visual overhauls, long-awaited tactical gear, and overhaul mechanics, this free massive update transforms how the Exclusion Zone looks, feels, and reacts to your presence. Whether you’re a hardened veteran of the Chornobyl perimeter or a newcomer waiting for the right time to jump in, Update 2.0 is designed to make the survival experience more atmospheric and immersive than ever before.

Here is everything you need to know about the huge drop coming to PC and consoles.

    1. Engine Upgrade & Complete Visual Evolution

Underneath the hood, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is making the leap to Unreal Engine 5.5.4. This technical leap delivers significant performance improvements, smoother frame times, and better streaming across the seamless open world.

Visually, the game is getting a total overhaul:

    • Dynamic Lighting & Shadows: Underground locations, abandoned complexes, and open landscapes now feature far more realistic reflections and natural lighting.
    • Redesigned Landscapes & Vegetation: Foliage and terrain have been reworked to give the Zone an organic, overgrown aesthetic.
    • Gameplay-Driven Fog: Fog is no longer just a pretty weather effect. Dense fog now actively reduces both vision and hearing for you and enemy stalkers or mutants, opening up strategic stealth opportunities.

    2. Strategic Scouting: Three Types of Binoculars

A long-requested feature from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community is finally here! Update 2.0 introduces three distinct types of binoculars.

Whether you scavenge them in remote military outposts or buy them from local traders, these scouting tools feature unique tech and functions to help you scan the horizon, mark targets, assess anomaly fields, and plan your approach long before firing a shot.

    3. Expanded Arsenal & Tactical Scopes

Surviving the hazards of Chornobyl requires serious firepower, and Update 2.0 expands your military options with four brand-new weapons:

    • Arev (Assault Rifle)
    • GP3A (Designated Marksman Rifle)
    • SKP (Designated Marksman Rifle)
    • Fora-230 (Submachine Gun)

A rare, unique variant of one of these weapons is also hidden somewhere deep within the Zone for scavengers to uncover. Additionally, the update adds new optics—such as a x3 scope for Western rifles and a red dot sight for Eastern models—along with expanded offset aiming support.

    4. Smarter A-Life & Enhanced Mutant AI

The Zone feels more living and unpredictable than ever:

    • Contested Points of Interest: Bandits, rival stalker factions, and mutants will now naturally fight over key areas like campfires, bus stops, and abandoned ruins.
    • Under-the-Hood Bug Fixes: Say goodbye to frustrating wall-clipping shots and sudden, unnatural AI overpopulation.
    • Varied Mutant Visuals: Familiar threats like Bloodsuckers and Fleshes now feature distinct visual variations depending on the habitat you find them in.

    5. Tailor-Made Survival with “Custom Rules”

Not everyone wants the exact same survival experience. Update 2.0 introduces Custom Rules, allowing you to fine-tune individual difficulty parameters. Adjust combat aggressiveness, economy dynamics, anomaly lethality, or environmental hazards to craft your ideal nightmare. If you want a brutal challenge, the Master difficulty and toggleable Expedition mode are still there to test your limits.

    6. New PDA Statistics & Modding Tools

Want to know how many rounds you’ve fired or how many Bloodsuckers you’ve put down? A dedicated Statistics page is joining your PDA layout.

For the modding community, GSC Game World is updating the official Zone Kit with full narrative scripting, audio integration, and localisation tools—allowing creators to build fully-voiced, custom story mods from scratch!

Launching Alongside “Cost of Hope” DLC

August 20 is shaping up to be a legendary day for the franchise. Launching on the very same day is the game’s first major paid expansion, Cost of Hope, which dives deep into the legendary, escalating conflict between the Duty and Freedom factions.

If you own S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Update 2.0 will be 100% free to download. Pack your ammunition, double-check your anomaly detectors, and prepare to go back to the Zone!

  • Shape the Elements: ‘Plan B: Terraform’ Announces Explosive New ‘Worlds of Fire and Water’ DLC and Massive Free Update!

Shape the Elements: ‘Plan B: Terraform’ Announces Explosive New ‘Worlds of Fire and Water’ DLC and Massive Free Update!

Calling all armchair terraformers and logistics lovers! If you enjoyed transforming barren celestial bodies into thriving, green havens, it is time to recalibrate your strategy.

Developer Gaddy Games has officially announced that Plan B: Terraform is expanding! Mark your calendars for September 23, 2026, when the relaxing sci-fi planetary simulation releases its first paid DLC, Worlds of Fire and Water, alongside a massive, game-changing Free Content Update.

Whether you want to battle burning lava or navigate endless oceans, humanity’s future is back in your hands.

Two Opposing Planets, Endless New Strategy

Following its successful 1.0 full launch, Plan B: Terraform is taking its tranquil base-building and logistics mechanics to extreme new limits. Priced at just $5, the Worlds of Fire and Water DLC introduces two polar-opposite biomes that demand entirely new survival strategies.

    1. The Fire World

This unforgiving, high-temperature landscape is riddled with active volcanoes, boiling geysers, and relentless heat.

    • No Natural Minerals: Forget standard mining—you’ll need to wait for lava to cool down into basalt to extract essential resources.
    • Cooling Down the Planet: Utilise new specialised tools, construct atmospheric neutralisation plants, and deploy orbital solar shade satellites to block out the harsh sun.
    • Water Scarcity: Water is extremely rare at first, relying heavily on localised geysers until you can literally launch rockets to drag icy comets down into the atmosphere!

    2. The Water World

If you prefer endless ocean horizons, the Water World will test your spatial management and marine terraforming skills.

    • Islands & Expansion: You begin on tiny clusters of land. To expand, you must freeze the planet to grow polar ice caps and lower global sea levels, build dams, or alter the terrain directly to reclaim dry land.
    • Deep Sea Mining: Extract minerals directly from the mineral-rich ocean floor using seabed filters.
    • Ecosystem Management: Mineral pollution threatens local marine life. You’ll need to clean up polluted zones so sea plants and plankton can thrive, which in turn produce oxygen and sustain the oceanic food chain.

A Giant Free Content Update for All Players!

Even if you stick with the base game, Gaddy Games is dropping a huge collection of new mechanics and quality-of-life additions for everyone on September 23:

    • Brand-New Tech Tree: Replacing the old level system, giving you a clearer, more rewarding path to planetary engineering.
    • New Logistics Vehicles: Command early-game small ships to cross water bodies and late-game airships to transport massive quantities of cargo across huge distances.
    • New Structures & Upgrades: Deploy floating depots, water farms for extra food production, and long-range drone extractors. Upgrades now let you permanently increase storage capacities and boost transport speeds.
    • Dynamic Weather & Environments: Experience dynamic polar ice caps, drifting snow, and sea currents that carry marine life around your globe.

    Get Ready to Terraform

With its calm atmospheric soundtrack, satisfying hexagonal grid layouts, and deep supply-chain logistics, Plan B: Terraform continues to be one of the most rewarding planetary simulators on PC. The combination of high-stakes planetary engineering and stress-free gameplay makes this upcoming expansion a must-play.

You can wishlist the Worlds of Fire and Water DLC on Steam today ahead of its September 23rd release!

The resident scientists have completely lost their memories and developed an intense, paralysing phobia of the ocean.

As the only person willing to face the watery depths, it’s up to you to pilot an upgradable submarine, plunge into dangerous underwater trenches, battle bizarre mutant marine life, and recover mysterious artefact stones. Only by piecing together these artefacts can you restore the locals’ memories and uncover the truth behind your uncle’s sudden disappearance.

    • Befriend the Locals: Meet a delightfully eccentric cast of amnesiac islanders—including a tanning-obsessed diver and a quirky expedition chief.
    • Restore the Island: Complete quests to cure the inhabitants of their marine phobias and bring their true personalities back.

Dangerous Below: Plunge Into the Abyss

When you step into your customizable submarine, the game transforms:

    • Deep Sea Exploration: Navigate uncharted trenches, glowing coral reefs, and eerie sunken pirate shipwrecks.
    • Mutant Monsters: Combat and capture strange, mutated sea creatures that guard hidden treasures.

Ready to Fly with Ohnaka Transport Solutions? ‘Smuggler’s Gambit’ Arrives in Fortnite!

If you’ve ever stepped off Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run at Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge wishing the heist didn’t have to end, we’ve got incredible news for you. Fortnite has officially bridged the gap between theme park real estate and your home console with an all-new experience: Smuggler’s Gambit!

Everyone’s favourite profit-obsessed Weequay pirate, Hondo Ohnaka, is recruiting. It’s time to grab your squad, head to the Outer Rim, and build your reputation as a legendary smuggler.

    Welcome to Ord Ryla

Developed in-house by Disney Games and Digital Entertainment using Unreal Engine 5, Smuggler’s Gambit is set on the mysterious planet of Ord Ryla.

Your adventure kicks off at Mersa Veta Station, anchored around the grounded ship The Scuttled Sparrow. Here, you’ll meet up with Hondo himself (voiced by the legendary Jim Cummings) to take on high-stakes, PvE co-op missions.

Whether you’re dodging Imperial remnants, fighting off Rathtar Raiders, or navigating hostile local wildlife, every mission feels like stepping directly into a high-stakes Star Wars adventure.

How It Works: Classes, Gear, and Factions

Forget standard Battle Royale drops—Smuggler’s Gambit introduces RPG-lite mechanics that give you real progression as an Outer Rim mercenary:

    • Choose Your Class: Mirroring the roles from the Disney Parks ride, players can spec into specialised classes like Pilots (stamina boosts and enemy scanners) or Gunners (combat droids to clear out choke points).
    • Level Up Your Arsenal: Start out with a basic blaster rifle and upgrade your weapons as you complete runs. By the time you’re taking on tougher bosses, your blaster will be a force to be reckoned with.
    • Work the Factions: Earn rep with syndicates operating out of Mersa Veta Station by taking on side hustles and dirty work while completing your main objectives.

    The Park-to-Game Connection

  • From Theme Park to Battle Royale: Disney and Fortnite Blur Reality with Groundbreaking ‘Smugglers Run’ Crossover!

From Theme Park to Battle Royale: Disney and Fortnite Blur Reality with Groundbreaking ‘Smugglers Run’ Crossover!

If you’ve ever stepped off the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge wishing your mission didn’t have to end, we’ve got incredible news for you. Disney and Epic Games have officially bridged the gap between physical theme parks and virtual worlds in a first-of-its-kind connected adventure: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Fortnite.

This revolutionary collaboration links real-world rides at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida directly into a brand-new, action-packed Fortnite island experience called Smugglers Gambit.

Here is everything you need to know about this game-changing integration between Disney Imagineering and battle royale gaming!

What is Smugglers Gambit in Fortnite?

Developed in-house by Disney Games and Digital Entertainment alongside Lucasfilm, Smugglers Gambit is a custom Fortnite island set around Mersa Veta Station on the outer-rim planet of Ord Ryla.

Players step into the boots of an Outer Rim smuggler, teaming up in co-op missions to battle Imperial remnants, pirate fleets, and hostile alien wildlife. Because the physical Smugglers Run ride original tech was built using Epic’s Unreal Engine, Disney Imagineers were able to pull authentic assets, ship models, and Lucasfilm craftsmanship straight from the theme park ride directly into Fortnite.

Whether you’ve visited Galaxy’s Edge or not, any Fortnite player worldwide can jump onto the Smugglers Gambit island to earn gear, level up, and complete quests—including unlocking The Gambit 2D Loading Screen.

How the Theme Park Connection Works

For park-goers, the adventure starts right in the attraction line. Here’s how the real-to-digital magic unfolds:

    1. Accept the Mission: While waiting in the queue for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disneyland Park or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, open the Disneyland app or My Disney Experience app and accept Hondo Ohnaka’s special mission.
    2. Fly the Falcon: Board the cockpit, collect cargo crates during your ride, and aim for a high score.
    3. Convert Your Ride Score: Your actual performance and crate score aboard the ride are converted into usable credits inside Fortnite’s Smugglers Gambit island!
    4. Claim Exclusive Cosmetics: Theme park riders who link their MyDisney account to their Epic Games account unlock exclusive in-game rewards—including the coveted Forsworn Trooper Outfit.

Why This is a Big Deal for Tech and Gaming

We’ve seen video games bring theme park rides to life virtually before, but we’ve never seen real-world theme park rides track your physical performance and feed it directly into a live-service game account.

Disney’s $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games is starting to showcase its true potential. By integrating real-time queue apps, Unreal Engine ride technology, and Epic Games accounts, Disney and Epic are creating a unified, persistent ecosystem where real life and digital entertainment merge seamlessly.

Realities Are Shifting! Everything That Happened in the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Story Moment: Unstable

Hold onto your Loot Carriers—the Fortnite Island just went through another wild visual overhaul.

As Chapter 7 Season 3 (Runners) races toward its official finish line, Epic Games delivered the dramatic climax we’ve all been anticipating: the Unstable Story Moment.

If you missed the event or were too busy dodging glitching geometry to process what was going on, here is your breakdown of how the shifting realities played out, what happened to the Zero Point, and how it sets the stage for the next phase of Fortnite.

The Zero Point Overload & Geno’s Sabotage

Throughout Season 3, the island’s story revolved around Slone, Hope (now taking on the moniker The Prophecy), and the New Seven working tirelessly on the Zero Point Stabiliser. Their original plan was to harness Sprite essence to heal Agent Jones and contain the Zero Point’s erratic energy output.

However, as the countdown for Unstable hit zero, things went completely off the rails.

A hidden backdoor program embedded deep within the Stabiliser’s code activated—revealed to be a covert hack executed by Geno. Taking control of the machinery away from the New Seven, Geno forced the Stabiliser to target the Zero Point directly, corrupting its energy rather than calming it down.

Visual Glitches, Rift Anomalies, and Realities Colliding

Once the corruption took hold, the in-game atmosphere shifted instantly:

    • Corrupted Digital Interference: The skybox fractured into retro, pixelated distortion patterns, accompanied by system audio glitches across the map.
    • Reality Warping: Classic map landmarks glitched in and out of frame, teasing iconic gaming-inspired structures falling from the sky (including giant block drops reminiscent of Tetris).
    • Mythic Sprite Chaos: As the event climaxed, Sprite spawns surged wildly across the island, unleashing localised gravity and rift anomalies before the entire system appeared to crash and reboot.

The entire event played out like a system-wide hack, leaving the island completely rewired and trapped in a digital limbo.

What Comes Next? Welcome to Chapter 7 Season 4: Override

The Unstable event didn’t just wrap up the Runners storyline; it served as the narrative bridge for Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, dropping on August 20, 2026.

Epic Games has already teased the tagline: “Break the rules. Change the game.” With the Zero Point corrupted and the island’s code broken open, expect Season 4 to heavily feature:

    1. A Cyberspace / System Attack Aesthetic: Expect glitch visuals, hacker lore, and neon corrupted environments across the rebooted map.
    2. Major Gaming Crossovers: With the reality rift cracking wide open across the multiverse, leakers and teasers point toward one of the most crossover-heavy, gaming-centric seasons Fortnite has ever attempted.

Did you watch the Unstable event live?

What are your theories on Geno’s ultimate plan, and what skins are you hoping to see in the Override Battle Pass? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!

  • Shields Are No Longer Safe: Meet Noor in Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Split Fire!

Shields Are No Longer Safe: Meet Noor in Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Split Fire!

For seasons, shield-wielding Attackers like Montagne, Blitz, and Osa have dominated sightlines and aggressive bombsite pushes, leaving Defenders with few direct ways to stop an advancing wall of ballistic steel.

That meta comes to a scorching end on September 1.

Ubisoft has officially revealed Operation Split Fire, and it introduces Noor—a formidable Egyptian Defender designed specifically to shatter the shield meta, disrupt attacker momentum, and ignite the tactical playing field.

Introducing Noor: The Flame of the Defense

Hailing from Egypt, Ahmed “Noor” Murad joins Rainbow Six Siege as a 2-speed, 2-armour Defender equipped with a game-changing gadget: the Horus Lance Launcher.

If Attackers thought behind a shield was a safe zone, Noor is here to prove otherwise.

    How the Horus Lance Works

Noor carries 5 projectiles that burrow into ballistic shields, deployable barriers, and destructible surfaces before erupting into a violent jet of flames.

    • Anti-Shield Punishment: When a Horus Lance strikes an Attacker’s shield, it burrows in and ignites. The resulting flame can kill an Operator in just a few seconds. To survive, the shield user must stop pushing, move their shield to the side, and manually extract the lance. This brief animation leaves them completely exposed to incoming gunfire.
    • Bi-Directional Surface Hazard: Shoot the lance into soft or reinforced walls, hatches, or floors, and it shoots streams of fire out of both sides of the surface. It provides incredible area denial and can even burn up incoming hard-breach devices before they detonate.
    • Gadget Destruction: The Horus Lance can also stick directly onto Osa shields, Castle barricades, Azami barriers, or deployable shields to create impassable fiery hazards.

    Weapon Loadout & Utility

Noor brings serious firepower to back up his tactical gadget:

    • Primary Options: Commando-9 Assault Rifle or the high-capacity Alda 5.56 LMG
    • Secondary Options: 1911 TACOPS or the Bailiff 410 revolver shotgun
    • Secondary Gadgets: Deployable Shield or Barbed Wire

Dynamic Synergies: Who Pairs Best with Noor?

Noor’s entry-denial playstyle naturally rewards coordinated team play. Pairing him with specific Defenders amplifies his lethality:

    1. Pulse: Use the Cardiac Sensor to track shield-bearers through soft walls, letting Noor land a Horus Lance before they even step through the doorway.
    2. Melusi & Tubarão: Trapping enemies in Melusi’s Banshee sonic slowdown or Tubarão’s freezing Zoto radius while they burn ensures maximum damage.
    3. Lesion & Echo: Gu Mines add damage while an Attacker tries to pull out the lance, while Echo’s Yokai sonic bursts can interrupt the removal animation entirely, leaving Attackers trapped in the fire.

What Else Is Coming in Operation Split Fire?

Noor isn’t the only headline feature arriving this season. Operation Split Fire brings a full suite of tactical updates:

    • Villa Map Rework: The underutilised Living Room/Library bomb site has been relocated downstairs to the basement, alongside layout changes to the garage and surrounding corridors for cleaner site rotations.
    • Operator Balancing: Kali gets faster scope handling and decreased chamber times, Dokkaebi trades her Impact EMPs for Breach Charges (and her Jegeo Payload can now be jammed by Mute), and weapons like the AR-15.50 and SMG-12 undergo recoil and damage tweaks.
    • 3v3 Arcade Mode: Running from September 8 to September 21, this fast-paced 3v3 mode features shorter rounds and strict operator attrition rules.
    • Wasteland Circuit Event: A brand-new drone racing LTM kicking off later in September!

    Final Thoughts

Operation Split Fire is shaping up to be one of the most tactical balance shifts Siege has seen in a long time. With Noor entering the arena, shield pushes will require a lot more finesse—and a lot less brainless pushing.
