A.A.U. Black Site: Bodycam Horror Hits Early Access This Month

The “bodycam” sub-genre is having a serious moment in gaming, and Raspberry Studio is about to crank up the tension. The indie developer has officially confirmed that A.A.U. Black Site, its hyper-realistic psychological horror FPS, will deploy into Steam Early Access on May 21, 2026.

If you’ve been following the project since its standout showing at Steam Next Fest, you’ll know this isn’t just another tactical shooter. It’s a claustrophobic descent into madness that blurs the line between a military operation and a supernatural nightmare.

    What to Expect at Launch

When the game hits Early Access on the 21st, players will have immediate access to the first two major missions:

    • “God’s Chosen”: Face off against a terrifying demonic presence.
    • “Guilt Trip”: A mission that promises to challenge your tactical grit and your sanity.

Raspberry Studio, a small but dedicated team of three friends based in Serbia, has built the game using the Unity Engine with a heavy focus on photorealistic “found-footage” aesthetics. The goal? Peak immersion. You aren’t just playing a character; you are seeing the world through the lens of a tactical bodycam, complete with lens distortion and grimy, high-fidelity environments.

    The Story: Betrayal in Uzovnica

You step into the boots of an operative in the covert A.A.U. Special Forces. What starts as a routine mission in the abandoned Serbian region of Uzovnica quickly goes south. Intercepted, framed, and cut off from any support, you are left to survive in a hostile territory where reality itself begins to fracture.

“The bodycam is still recording, capturing every moment of your assignment. From the mundane… to the supernatural.”

    Key Features

    • Tactical Depth: Over 20 weapons will be available, including assault rifles, SMGs, and pistols. You can choose to go “tactical” or “loud,” though in a psychological horror setting, caution is usually your best friend.
    • Psychological Horror: Inspired by classics like F.E.A.R. and modern tactical sims like Ready or Not, the game balances intense gunplay with a dark, oppressive atmosphere.
    • Community-Driven Development: Raspberry Studio plans to remain in Early Access for roughly a year, using player feedback to shape future chapters, weapons, and enemy types.

    Is Your PC Ready?

Despite the high-end visuals, the game remains surprisingly accessible. Here’s a quick look at the specs:

A.A.U. Black Site is available to wishlist on Steam right now. If you can’t wait until May 21, there is a final demo currently available for download to give you a taste of the terror awaiting you in Uzovnica.

    What is Gunboat God?

Gunboat God isn’t your average side-scrolling shooter. It’s a fast-paced, fluid experience that asks you to master the physics of your vessel—and the waves themselves—while blasting through hundreds of quick-fire missions.

You’ve been cast out from the Citadel in the Sky, and the only way back is to fight your way through the depths. Thankfully, you aren’t going it alone; you’re joined by Yeti, a charming (and slightly intense) crocodile mechanic who is essential for keeping your gunboat battle-ready.

    Key features include:

    • Customizable Firepower: From precision lasers and classic cannons to the aptly named “Vaporiser,” you can tailor your arsenal to fit your playstyle.
    • Deep Progression: With 200+ levels and 10+ abilities and augments, there is plenty of room to experiment with builds to take on challenging, multi-stage bosses.
    • Dynamic Environments: The game’s unique art style and mechanics play with the water’s surface, forcing you to constantly adapt as you move between air and underwater zones.
    • Local Co-op: Bring a friend along for the ride to tackle the chaos together!

    Why It’s Worth Your Time

If you’re a fan of “just one more go” arcade gameplay, Gunboat God hits the sweet spot. It’s a masterclass in kinetic energy, balancing high-speed movement with the tactical necessity of managing your weapon upgrades and special abilities. Whether you are hunting for the highest score or just trying to survive a brutal multi-phase boss fight, the game delivers an adrenaline-pumping experience that feels right at home on a controller.

As developer Janson RAD’s first solo project, the game feels remarkably polished, offering a unique visual identity that stands out in the crowded shooter genre.

The Writer is Watching: Myth of Valderit Limited Playtest is Now Live!

If you’ve ever felt like a horror game was reading your mind, Loom Studios is about to prove you right. The Barcelona-based team has officially opened a limited-time playtest for their upcoming psychological horror title, Myth of Valderit, and it’s currently waiting for you on Steam.

This isn’t just another walk through a spooky forest. Inspired by the real-life legends of the abandoned Catalan village of La Mussara, Myth of Valderit puts you in the shoes of Nil, who wakes up separated from his friends in a village that technically shouldn’t exist.

    What Makes Valderit Different?

The standout feature of this experience is “The Writer”—an omniscient Adaptive Horror System. Unlike scripted scares that happen at the same time for everyone, the game analyzes your behavior in real-time.

    • Adaptive Scares: The AI reshapes level design, atmosphere, and music based on your reactions.
    • The Madness Mechanic: Inspired by Lovecraftian horror, your perception of reality will warp as your sanity slips.
    • Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn: The game categorises your playstyle into these four psychological responses, ensuring your nightmare is uniquely tailored to you.

Since this is a limited-time event, you’ll want to move fast. Loom Studios is looking for feedback specifically on the Adaptive Horror System to fine-tune the scares before the full launch.

    1. Head over to the Myth of Valderit Steam Page.
    2. Look for the “Join the Myth of Valderit Playtest” box.
    3. Click “Request Access” to get started.
    4. After playing, be sure to fill out the developer feedback form—your scares might just help shape the final game.

  • Cronos: The New Dawn – A New Era of Survival Horror is Here

Cronos: The New Dawn – A New Era of Survival Horror is Here

The survival horror genre is getting a brutal and ambitious new entry, and it’s one you absolutely shouldn’t miss. From the acclaimed Polish developers at Bloober Team (known for The Medium and the Silent Hill 2 remake), Cronos: The New Dawn is a bold, action-focused take on the genre that blends time travel, retro-futurism, and heart-pounding resource management.

Released on September 5, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and even the Nintendo Switch 2, Cronos is proving that there are still plenty of fresh nightmares to explore.

Salvaging the Past, Surviving the Future

Cronos: The New Dawn thrusts you into a bleak, post-apocalyptic future. You play as a Traveller, an agent of the enigmatic Collective, clad in imposing futuristic armour. Your mission is not to rebuild, but to salvage the past.

Humanity was wiped out by a devastating event known as “The Change,” which transformed people into grotesque, monstrous “Orphans.” Your job is to traverse the ravaged wastelands of the future, locate temporal rifts, and jump back in time to 1980s Poland, just as the catastrophe is unfolding. Once there, you must extract the Essences (souls/consciousness) of key individuals who perished, in the hope of uncovering the origins of the apocalypse.

This unique premise, blending Eastern European brutalism with cold sci-fi horror, provides a gripping narrative backdrop that sets it apart from your standard zombie fare.

Don’t Let Them Merge: The Core of the Horror

While the game takes strong visual and atmospheric cues from classics like Dead Space (a protagonist in a chunky suit, tight third-person camera), Cronos introduces its own twisted, challenging mechanics:

    • The Merge Mechanic: The most significant difference is the terrifying “Merge” mechanic. Killing a monster isn’t the end. Fallen enemies leave behind a grotesque, tentacled corpse, and if a living Orphan reaches it, they will Merge, evolving into a faster, tougher, and far deadlier abomination. The only way to prevent this worst-case scenario? Burn the bodies immediately. This forces players to constantly manage their limited flamethrower fuel and make split-second strategic decisions in combat.
    • Action-Horror Combat: Unlike some of Bloober’s earlier, more psychological games, Cronos features heavy, deliberate third-person combat. Weapons are limited, ammo is scarce, and every shot must count. You’ll need to use your transforming firearm, stomp attack, and environment to control the horrifying, ever-present threat.
    • The Harvester and Madness: Your essential tool is the Harvester, used to extract Essences in the past. These Essences bestow valuable perks on the Traveller but come at a price. The more Essences you carry, the more “haunted” your suit becomes, leading to unsettling visual and auditory disturbances that push the Traveller—and you—closer to the edge of madness.

    An Unforgettable Horror Experience

Cronos: The New Dawn is a true love letter to classic survival horror, demanding careful resource management and white-knuckled combat. Bloober Team has delivered on an ambitious concept, crafting a desolate, beautiful, and deeply unsettling world.

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the genre or looking for a modern horror game with a truly unique twist, Cronos: The New Dawn promises an intense, strategic, and genuinely frightening journey through time and terror. Just remember one thing: Don’t let them merge!
