But last September, they did more than just maintain the game—they conquered a 20-year-old myth with the release of the Kraken’s Wake expansion.
To celebrate the massive success of this update, the TLOPO team has released a feature-length documentary, “Kraken’s Wake: Behind The Sound.” Premiering on Valentine’s Day 2026, the film is a two-hour love letter to the community, offering a rare, deep dive into the artistry that brought the Caribbean’s most feared leviathan to life.

This isn’t just a collection of clips; it’s an exploration of how a volunteer-led team achieved professional-grade cinematic quality. The documentary focuses on the two pillars that define the Kraken experience: immersion and atmosphere.

The sound design team reveals the “ingredients” used to create the Kraken’s roars and the bone-chilling sounds of the new Cursed Blades. Each weapon was given a unique audio profile to ensure that every strike feels as powerful as it looks.
A Milestone for the Community
The numbers speak for themselves. Since the launch of Kraken’s Wake, the TLOPO active player base has doubled, generating over 750,000 hours of playtime.
“For the first time, we’re inviting players into the creative process,” says Tyler Grow. “Kraken’s Wake has some of the most impressive work we’ve done, and we wanted the community to see the care and effort that went into every detail.”
