Hacking the Future: Into The Grid Drops Massive Metaprogression Update for Steam Deckbuilders Fest

The neon-soaked streets of the digital frontier just got a lot busier. Flatline Studios has officially pulled the curtain back on the most substantial update to their cyberpunk roguelike deckbuilder, Into The Grid, since its Early Access launch last November.

Timed perfectly with the kick-off of the Steam Deckbuilders Fest (May 4–11), this update—version 0.3.0—is more than just a balance pass. It’s a total overhaul of how you experience the climb through the corporation-controlled cyberspace of 2112.

Zero-Grind, Maximum Power: The Metaprogression Overhaul

The centrepiece of this update is the brand-new Metaprogression System. For many roguelike fans, “metaprogression” often translates to “endless grinding for +1% health.” Flatline Studios is taking a refreshingly different path with their Zero-Grind Philosophy.

    • Hardware Mods: You can now customise your console before you “jack in.” The update introduces over 30 unlockable Hardware Mods (out of a planned pool of 100+). These range from flat stat boosts to game-altering perks that synergise with specific deck archetypes.
    • The Mission System: Every run now features level-based objectives. Completing these missions doesn’t just give you in-run rewards; it accelerates your progress toward unlocking new hardware and abilities, ensuring that even a failed run feels like a step forward.
    • New Currencies: By playing, you’ll earn Experience, Software, and Hardware Points. These are used to tailor your Runner to your specific playstyle—whether you prefer brute-forcing through firewalls or a more surgical, stealthy approach.

A Fresh View of the Grid

Navigating a digital labyrinth requires a clean interface, and the team has delivered a fully redesigned Map UI. The new look isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s built to handle the complex variables introduced by the new Hardware Mods, keeping the tactical map readable even when your runner is loaded with high-end tech.

“We are incredibly proud of this update, which takes Into The Grid one step further into the vision we always had for the game, with tons of content and replayability.” — Bruno Annetta, Co-founder of Flatline Studios.

Celebrating at the Steam Deckbuilders Fest

If you’ve been on the fence about diving into this “dungeon crawler meets deckbuilder” hybrid, now is the time. Into The Grid is currently featured in the Steam Deckbuilders Fest, joining heavy hitters like Balatro and Inscryption.

For those new to the game, it stands out with its unique VIM (Virtual Memory) dual-resource system. Every card you play generates VIM, which can then be spent on powerful Commands—special abilities that sit outside your deck to help mitigate the RNG of a bad draw.

Patch 0.3.0 Highlights at a Glance:

    FeatureDetails
Hardware Mods30+ new unlockable pre-run perks.
Mission System~40 objectives that shape run demands and rewards.
Map UITotal overhaul for better readability and scaling.
BalanceTweaks to “Trace” mechanics and Haven node healing.
QoLNew keybinding options (paving the way for future controller support).

    How to Play

Into The Grid is available now in Early Access on Steam. If you aren’t ready to commit your credits just yet, there is a free demo available that includes the recent visual overhauls and core gameplay mechanics.

  • Breaking the Firewall: RockGame Unveils Massive Update for Void Future: Hacking Protocol

Breaking the Firewall: RockGame Unveils Massive Update for Void Future: Hacking Protocol

The digital underground is buzzing. Today, RockGame and developer RVL Interactive officially pulled back the curtain on a major overhaul for their cinematic cyberpunk thriller, Void Future: Hacking Protocol.

After months of silent development and deep-code refinement, the team has released a “Refined Public Demo” and a brand-new gameplay trailer that completely redefines the hacking experience. If you thought you knew what it felt like to be a freelance hacker in a corporate-controlled dystopia, it’s time to jack back in.

    What’s New in the System?

This isn’t just a few bug fixes. The February 2026 update focuses on immersion, cohesion, and sensory feedback. The developers spent the last quarter polishing the game’s “feel” to ensure the high-stakes tension of a digital heist translates perfectly to your screen.

    1. Visual & Atmospheric Overhaul

The neon-soaked streets and cold, sterile server rooms of the future have never looked better.

    • Improved Lighting: A complete pass on the lighting system creates a more atmospheric, “lo-fi meets high-tech” aesthetic.
    • Polished Assets: Environments have been refined for greater detail, making the physical spaces you explore between hacks feel lived-in and dangerous.
    • New Visual Effects: New VFX have been integrated to better communicate system status and the rising tension of the “trace” meter.

    2. A Fully Diegetic UI

In a game about hacking, the interface is everything. The UI has been entirely rebuilt to be clearer and more diegetic. Instead of feeling like you’re looking at a menu, the new HUD feels like it’s part of your hacker’s hardware, keeping you grounded in the game world even when you’re deep in a sub-routine.

    3. The Sound of the Underground

Audio is half the battle in stealth. The update introduces a fully original soundtrack, composed in-house. The music shifts dynamically to reflect your status—from the low-thrumming ambient tones of investigation to the heart-pounding beats that kick in when a corporate security protocol starts tracking your IP.

The Core Experience: What to Expect

For those new to Void Future, the game blends first-person exploration with realistic terminal-style hacking. You aren’t just clicking “Hack” to win; you’re navigating complex systems, bypassing firewalls, and managing a persistent trace system.

    FeatureDescription
No Skill TreesProgression is narrative-driven; you gain tools and access through your actions, not a menu.
Tactical StealthBalance physical infiltration with digital exploitation.
High StakesEvery action leaves a footprint. Push too hard, and the corporation sends more than just a firewall after you.

    Try the New Demo Today

The updated demo is available now on Steam. It represents the most accurate version of the final game to date, offering a vertical slice of the puzzles, exploration, and intense hacking that Void Future: Hacking Protocol promises to deliver at launch.

Whether you’re a veteran of the terminal or a newcomer to the cyberpunk genre, the new update is the perfect excuse to test your pulse against the most advanced security systems the future has to offer.

“The result is a demo experience that feels more focused, immersive, and representative of the final game.” — RVL Interactive

    Wishlist VTuber’s Game : Ctrl+Alt+Del Now

VTuber’s Game: Ctrl+Alt+Del is an upcoming indie title that blends the high-stakes world of virtual streaming with a dark, revenge-driven narrative. Developed by 2YAMA, the game is a unique “desktop-operated adventure” that combines falling-puzzle mechanics with tower defence strategy.

The Plot: A Quest for Digital Revenge

The story follows a protagonist who has lost their “favourite” VTuber—Maria Tenno—to a mysterious killer who has now stolen her identity. To catch the culprit, you must enter the world of VTubing yourself.

By climbing the ranks of the elite VTuber production company SUIT, you aim to reach the same level as the imposter. Your ultimate goal is to invite the “fake” Maria Tenno to an offline collaboration and exact your revenge. The game features 13 top-ranked members of SUIT, one of whom is the killer.

    Gameplay Mechanics: Stream & Stack

The core gameplay is described as a “Stream & Stack” experience. Unlike traditional visual novels, you interact with the game through a simulated desktop interface:

    • Stream Battles: During livestreams, you must manage a chaotic flow of viewer comments. While fans provide support, “haters” appear as enemies trying to shut down your stream.
    • Dice & Talk Decks: You defend your stream using Dice (representing stream skills) and Talk Decks (your strategic “trump cards”) to intercept attacks and keep the broadcast alive.
    • Social Simulation: Between streams, you can chat with other members of the group, send stamps, and arrange collaborations. These interactions provide crucial clues to the killer’s identity.
    • Branching Narrative: With over 16 different endings, the story changes based on how you grow as a streamer, the “clips” generated from your highlights, and the relationships you build with your peers.

  • Cybernetic Mayhem: Is KIBORG the Next Must-Play Rogue-lite Brawler?

Cybernetic Mayhem: Is KIBORG the Next Must-Play Rogue-lite Brawler?

In the increasingly crowded landscape of rogue-lite games, KIBORG, developed by Sobaka Studio, throws its hat into the ring with a brutal, third-person action brawler set in a grim cyberpunk prison. But does this gory gauntlet offer a path to freedom, or is it a one-way ticket to digital frustration?

The Premise: Fight for Your Freedom

KIBORG drops you into the boots of Morgan Lee, a moustachioed man serving a seemingly endless 1,300-year sentence in the galaxy’s most notorious prison. The only way out? Winning on “The Last Ticket,” a violent reality show broadcast for the masses. Death doesn’t save you—it just sends you back for a cybernetic reconstruction, ready to fight again.

The core gameplay is a mash-up of old-school beat ’em ups, shooters, and rogue-lite mechanics. You fight your way through procedurally generated floors of a towering prison, engaging in fast-paced, visceral combat against hordes of mutants and cybernetically-enhanced enemies.

    Visceral Combat and Build Variety

The combat is the savage heart of KIBORG. It’s often compared to the fluid, counter-based fighting of the Batman: Arkham series, but with a much heavier dose of brutal, limb-severing gore.

    • Melee and Ranged: You’ll use both devastating melee combos and limited-ammo firearms to tear through enemies. Mastering the parry and dodge is crucial, as the difficulty can be unforgiving.
    • The Cybernetic Edge: The unique rogue-lite twist is the immense build variety offered by cybernetic implants and mutations. In each run, you’ll collect new augments—from robotic limbs to deadly drones—that radically change Morgan’s appearance and abilities. One run might see you as a close-quarters, health-regenerating brawler, while the next turns you into a glass cannon focused on ranged power.
    • Meta-Progression: Between runs, currency earned is spent on a permanent skill tree, allowing you to unlock access to better weapons, implants, and new skills, making each failed run a step toward eventual success.

The Look and Feel: Grime and Gore

KIBORG’s world is drenched in a gritty, oppressive cyberpunk aesthetic. The environments are often grime-soaked and neon-lit, creating a suitably dark backdrop for the ultraviolence. The visual transformation of Morgan as he equips grotesque new implants is a key highlight, reinforcing the theme of a lost humanity.

The Verdict: A Compelling but Flawed Fighter

Reviews for KIBORG suggest it’s a game that demands patience but rewards mastery.

    The GoodThe Mixed/Bad
Brutal, satisfying combat with a lot of depth.Steep and sometimes frustrating difficulty curve.
Massive build variety via cybernetic implants.Inconsistent parry/block system and sometimes floaty controls.
Gory and engaging cyberpunk art direction.Awkward or “atrocious” voice acting (particularly for the host, Volkov).
Addictive rogue-lite loop with meaningful permanent progression.Repetitive environments and some procedural generation issues.

If you’re a fan of challenging, skill-based action games like Hades or Dead Cells, but crave a third-person, beat-’em-up experience with a heavy dose of cyberpunk grit, KIBORG is a compelling choice. Just be prepared for a brutal opening—this game makes you earn your power.

KIBORG is available now on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Are you ready to augment your body and fight for your life in “The Last Ticket”? If you pick it up, tell me: What’s your favourite cybernetic implant build so far?

  • Bound By Duty: A Deep Dive into the Gritty, Gory World of Darktide

Bound By Duty: A Deep Dive into the Gritty, Gory World of Darktide

Greetings, loyal servants of the Emperor!

If you’re anything like me, you’ve spent countless hours purging heretics, battling monstrous aberrations, and desperately clinging to life in the claustrophobic underbelly of Tertium. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has carved out a brutal, beautiful niche in the co-op shooter genre, immersing us in the grim darkness of the far future like never before. And with the recent “Bound By Duty” update, Fatshark has once again proven its dedication to delivering a truly authentic 40k experience.

This isn’t just another patch, fellow rejects. “Bound By Duty” feels like a significant evolution, refining existing systems and introducing new elements that deepen the already compelling gameplay loop. Let’s break down why this update is a must-play for veterans and a perfect jumping-on point for newcomers.

    New Missions, New Horrors

The first thing you’ll notice is the addition of new mission types and variations. Tertium feels even more alive – or perhaps, more accurately, more infested. These aren’t just reskins; they offer fresh tactical challenges and force you to adapt your playstyle. Whether you’re navigating booby-trapped corridors or defending key objectives against relentless hordes, the tension is palpable. The new environmental hazards and enemy placements keep you on your toes, ensuring that no two runs ever feel quite the same. The art direction continues to be a standout, making every grimy detail pop.

A Fresh Look: Character Customisation & Cosmetics

One of the most requested features since launch has been deeper character customisation, and “Bound By Duty” delivers in spades. New cosmetic options for every class allow us to truly personalise our operatives, reflecting the myriad scars and struggles they’ve endured. From grimy trench coats to battle-scarred armour, these additions truly enhance the role-playing aspect. It’s not just about looking cool (though that helps!). It’s about feeling a deeper connection to your character as you carve a path through the damned.

The Weapons of War: Rebalanced and Revitalised

Fatshark has clearly listened to community feedback regarding weapon balance. “Bound By Duty” brings a much-needed rebalance to many of our beloved (and some less-loved) armaments. Weapons that felt underpowered now pack a respectable punch, while some overperformers have been toned down to create a more balanced arsenal. This encourages experimentation with different loadouts and ensures that every weapon feels viable in the right hands. The subtle tweaks to handling, recoil, and damage output might seem small on paper, but they make a huge difference in the heat of battle. My personal favourite, the trusty Bolter, feels even more satisfying to unleash now!

Quality of Life Improvements: The Unsung Heroes

Beyond the flashy new content, “Bound By Duty” also brings a host of quality-of-life improvements that make the overall experience smoother and more enjoyable. From UI enhancements to bug fixes and improved server stability, these often-overlooked changes demonstrate Fatshark’s commitment to polishing the game. It’s the little things, like clearer objective markers or more intuitive inventory management, that truly make a difference in the long run.

    The Imperium Demands Your Service!

“Bound By Duty” isn’t just an update; it’s a testament to Darktide’s potential and Fatshark’s ongoing dedication. The game continues to evolve, offering a genuinely challenging and rewarding co-op experience that perfectly captures the bleak, visceral essence of Warhammer 40,000. So grab your lasgun, sharpen your chainsword, and steel your resolve, rejects. The Emperor protects… sometimes.
