War Never Changes—But Where You Play It Does

The wait is finally over. As of February 24, 2026, Bethesda has officially opened the vault doors for Nintendo fans. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition has shadow-dropped onto the Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first time the mainline post-apocalyptic series has graced a Nintendo platform.

Whether you’re a seasoned Sole Survivor or a fresh-faced Vault Dweller, this isn’t just a simple port; it’s a powerhouse showcase for Nintendo’s new hardware. Here’s everything you need to know about your new life in the portable Commonwealth.

    The Ultimate Scavenger’s Bundle

The Anniversary Edition is the “everything-and-the-kitchen-sink” version of the game. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump back in, the sheer volume of content here is staggering:

    • The Full Experience: Includes the base game and all six official DLCs (Far Harbor, Nuka-World, Automatron, and the Workshop packs).
    • Creation Club Integration: Over 150 pieces of curated content are baked directly into the game. We’re talking new quests, unique weapons (like the Prototype Gauss Rifle), and even different breeds for Dogmeat.
    • Next-Gen Polish: It utilises the technical upgrades seen in the 2024 “Next-Gen” update, but optimised specifically for the Switch 2’s architecture.

    Performance: How Does It Run?

The biggest question for any Bethesda port is performance. Thankfully, the Switch 2’s custom Nvidia Ampere GPU is doing some heavy lifting. Early reports and testing show a surprisingly smooth experience:

    ModeTarget ResolutionTarget Framerate
    Docked1440p (upscaled to 4K)60 FPS
    Handheld1080p40 FPS / 60 FPS

Pro Tip: Many players are finding the 40 FPS mode to be the “sweet spot” for handheld play—it provides a significant fluidity boost over the classic 30 FPS without the battery drain or minor visual blurring sometimes seen in the full 60 FPS Performance Mode.

    Portability vs. Compromise

For the first time, you can manage your settlements while on the bus or hunt Deathclaws in bed without a clunky remote-play setup. The SSD-speed loading of the Switch 2 is a game-changer here; fast-travelling across the Boston ruins now takes seconds rather than the minute-long waits we remember from the last generation.

One minor heartbreak for the purists: The physical release (arriving April 28, 2026) is a “Code-in-a-Box” (CIAB) rather than a physical game card. If you’re a collector, you’ll still get a nice case for the shelf, but you’ll be downloading the bulk of those high-res textures to your internal storage or MicroSD Express card.

    Is It Worth the $59.99?

If you already own the Game of the Year edition on three other platforms, sixty bucks might feel like a steep “Todd Howard tax.” However, for the Nintendo-only crowd or those who live for high-end handheld gaming, this is the definitive version of a modern classic. The inclusion of the Creation Club content—which would cost a fortune to buy individually—adds a lot of value to the package.

The Commonwealth is calling. Will you answer?

  • Mischief Managed! Fallout 76’s Beloved Mischief Night Event is BACK

Mischief Managed! Fallout 76’s Beloved Mischief Night Event is BACK

Vault Dwellers, grab your spooky apparel and prep your fireworks—the long-awaited, fan-favourite seasonal event, Mischief Night, has finally returned to Appalachia!

After years of being locked away due to technical gremlins, Bethesda has completely reworked the event, bringing back the high-energy hijinks with a new location, new objectives, and a huge haul of fantastic new Halloween-themed rewards.

A Grand Return to Rapidan Camp

For those who remember the original event at Whitespring, prepare for a fresh, spooky setting. The revamped Mischief Night takes place in the eerie, gorgeously decorated Rapidan Camp in the new Skyline Valley region.

The event kicks off with your favourite chaotic Eyebot, JES-2R, who is ready to guide you and your fellow vault dwellers on a glorious, post-apocalyptic pranking spree.

What’s New: The Art of Mayhem

The core of the event remains the same: complete acts of mayhem and sow chaos to fill the progress bars, but the location and tasks have been completely overhauled for maximum fun:

    • Costume Up! While not strictly required anymore, wearing a costume is still highly encouraged to “speed up progress and receive unique rewards.” If you forgot your ghoul getup, a costume chest is provided at the start of the event.
    • Three Stages of Shenanigans: The event now moves through distinct areas of Rapidan Camp:
      1. Sow Chaos in the Woods: Follow JES-2R, light bonfires, blast fireworks, and take down costumed “Lost” enemies.
      2. Sow Chaos on the Grounds: The mayhem escalates! You’ll be blowing things up, raiding trick-or-treat bowls, tagging walls with graffiti, and forking the lawns.
      3. Sow Chaos on the Cliffs & Finale: The final stretch involves more explosions and fights against Rapidan Robots, culminating in a showdown with a 3-star Aggressotron at a Vertibird landing site.

Keep that mischief quota filled to secure your loot!

    The Treats: Rare New Rewards

The rewards are where this returning event truly shines. Mischief Night 2.0 brings a massive list of new, exclusive plans and items that are instantly going to be some of the most sought-after decorations in the game.

Forget last year’s standard haul—players are now hunting for:

    • C.A.M.P. Goodies:
      • Cauldron Hot Tub: Everyone needs a bubbling, spooky tub for their post-apocalyptic retreat.
      • Skeletal Weapon Rack: A new way to display your favourite legendary weapons.
      • Crooked Metal Fence: Perfect for that haunted yard aesthetic.
      • Deathclaw Gargoyle and Large Deathclaw Gargoyle Statues.
      • Cultist Lamp and Boney Arm Sconce.
      • Hay Bale Throne
    • Apparel and Backpacks:
      • Spooky Scarecrow Headpiece and Outfit
      • Bat Plushie Backpack
      • Scorpion Plushie Backpack
      • Jack-in-the-Box Backpack and Flair

The full list is huge, and with a short two-week window, you’ll want to run this event as often as possible!

    Don’t Miss Out! Event Dates

Mischief Night is a limited-time event, so mark your calendars!

The event runs from October 7th to October 21st. The event pops up as a Public Event on the hour, every hour, so plan your playtime accordingly to maximise your reward runs.

Whether you’re an original Vault Dweller who missed out on the classic rewards or a new player looking to deck out your C.A.M.P. in the spookiest style, the return of Mischief Night is an absolute treat. Now get out there, cause some trouble, and let us know what amazing rewards you manage to snag!

    Happy Pranking!
