During the early days of Assassin’s Creed the game was based around missions in time, but obviously, once the enemies have been eliminated you are left with an expensive piece of cool tech with no reason to even switch it on, so what could be next for the Animus?
As with most technology that has been used for military or secret missions when it is not needed anymore, it is either stored away in some secret bunker or released into the public arena. The future of the Animus is tourism, imagine being able to go back in time and witness historical events as they happened, how cool would that be?
Assassin’s Creed gives us intensely interactive access to the past and in this Lore Guide, Narrative Director Darby McDevitt explains the technology that makes such historical tourism possible.
