Hey Loopers, welcome back to the island!

If you thought Chapter 5 had its share of wild surprises, get ready to have your mind blown. Epic Games is dropping some enchanting new magic onto the battle royale map, and they go by the name of Sprites.

These aren’t just your run-of-the-mill, floating cosmetic buddies—these little elemental powerhouses are about to completely shake up how you secure that next Victory Royale. Let’s dive into everything you need to know about your new tiny, glowing best friends.

    What Are Sprites?

Sprites are mythical, autonomous companion creatures scattered across the island. Think of them as a blend of Reality Saplings, Hiring NPCs, and a whole lot of pixie dust.

Once you find and bond with a Sprite, they will hover near your shoulder, granting you unique passive buffs and active combat assistance. But choose wisely—you can only bond with one Sprite at a time!

How to Bond with a Sprite

    1. Locate a Sprite Shrine: These are glowing, ethereal landmarks hidden in forested and mountainous biomes.
    2. Offer a Tribute: You’ll need to offer some Gold Bars or a specific item (like a Shield Potion or Chug Splash), depending on the Sprite’s element.
    3. Accept the Bond: Once the ritual is complete, the Sprite is yours until you get eliminated (or decide to swap them out).

Meet the Lineup: Which Sprite Fits Your Playstyle?

Every Sprite belongs to an elemental faction, bringing a completely unique toolkit to your inventory. Here is the breakdown of the first batch entering the loop:

Sprite NameElementPassive BuffActive Combat AbilityBest For…
EmberFire10% faster reload speeds.Periodically shoots a small fireball that ignites enemy builds.Aggressive pushers and box-fighters.
GaleWindIncreased movement speed and reduced fall damage.Spawns a localized updraft to launch you into glider redeploy.Rotations and high-ground seekers.
MarinaWaterSlow passive health/shield regen while standing in water.Splashes enemies to temporarily blur their vision/HUD.Survivalists and defensive players.
TerraEarthFarm mats 25% faster.Hardens your current builds, giving them a temporary health boost.Builders and late-game strategists.

Sprite Strategy: Tips for the Win

Having a Sprite on your side is awesome, but knowing how to use them effectively is how you dominate the lobby.

Pro-Tip: Sprites can be targeted and temporarily disabled by enemy fire! If your Sprite takes too much damage, they will retreat into a dormant state for 45 seconds before waking back up. Protect your little buddy!

    • Synergise Your Loadout: Running a Frenzy Auto Shotgun? Pair it with Ember to burn through enemy builds while you pressure their box.
    • Watch the Storm: If you get caught deep in the storm, Gale’s wind tunnels can save your match by helping you cross the map in seconds.
    • Keep an Eye on the Skies: Sprites give off a faint, colourful glow. While they offer amazing perks, they can also give away your position if you’re trying to sneak around in a bush.

    The Verdict

The introduction of Sprites adds a brilliant layer of RPG-style strategy to Fortnite’s classic gunplay. Whether you want to burn down sweaty builds with Ember or glide across the map with Gale, there’s a Sprite out there tailored just for you.

They are live in the game right now, so drop into a match, find a shrine, and see which element chooses you.

  • The Purple Dragon Takes Flight: Spyro: A Realm Beyond Officially Revealed for Nintendo Switch 2!

The Purple Dragon Takes Flight: Spyro: A Realm Beyond Officially Revealed for Nintendo Switch 2!

The gaming world is buzzing following the Xbox Games Showcase, and platforming fans have just received the news they’ve been waiting nearly two decades for. Everyone’s favourite purple dragon is finally making his triumphant return in a brand-new, original mainline adventure: Spyro: A Realm Beyond.

Even better news for Nintendo fans? The gorgeous cinematic announcement trailer has officially confirmed that Spyro will be gliding—or rather, fully flying—onto the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.

Check out everything we know so far about Toys for Bob’s boldest evolution of the franchise yet.

    Watch the Announcement Trailer

If you haven’t seen it yet, prepare for a massive hit of nostalgia mixed with next-gen awe. The trailer introduces a slightly older, subtly redesigned Spyro, complete with an enhanced wingspan and that classic plucky attitude (voiced once again by the legendary Tom Kenny!).

Official Synopsis: > “When Spyro finds himself stranded, his journey to discover a way home is interrupted by the arrival of a vicious invading force known as the Scavs. Feel the freedom of flight as you soar above vibrant landscapes, weave between treetops, dive off massive landmarks, and wing your way through this new realm.”

Breaking the Boundaries: True Dragon Flight

For years, Spyro games have kept our favourite hero mostly grounded, limiting his aerial skills to gliding. Spyro: A Realm Beyond is completely shattering that mould.

Developer Toys for Bob has revealed that their biggest ambition for this title is to give players unrestricted, true dragon flight. You’ll be able to take to the skies at a moment’s notice, chaining together tight turns, steep climbs, and massive dives. This fundamental shift means the game will feature vast, open, and incredibly vibrant landscapes designed around vertical exploration rather than traditional, confined platforming corridors.

    A More Mature, Original Story

This isn’t another remake. A Realm Beyond marks the first completely original mainline Spyro story since 2008.

While the game promises to retain the joyful, dream-like charm and quirky humour the series is famous for, the stakes are undeniably higher. Stranded in a strange new world, Spyro will have to face off against a ruthless new threat known as The Scavs. The developers have teased that this new antagonist will push Spyro to new emotional depths, challenging his skills and forcing him to truly grow as a hero.

How Will It Play on Nintendo Switch 2?

While the game is targeting a multi-platform release across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, seeing it confirmed as a launch-window title for the Nintendo Switch 2 is incredibly exciting.

A game built around massive draw distances and seamless aerial traversal requires some serious hardware power. The fact that Toys for Bob is bringing this gorgeous, expansive world to Nintendo’s next-generation hardware suggests the Switch 2 is going to pack a serious punch when it comes to rendering vibrant environments on the go. Taking full flight as Spyro while lounging on the couch or travelling is bound to be an absolute dream.

The Countdown to Spring 2027 Begins

With a release window set for Spring 2027, we still have a bit of a wait before we can take to the skies. However, knowing that the team behind the spectacular Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is leading the charge gives us total confidence that the purple dragon is in the safest possible hands.

Stay tuned to TechMash for more updates, gameplay breakdowns, and Nintendo Switch 2 news as it drops!

  • Grand Illusions & Deadly Deals: Magicians: The Devil’s Deal Revealed for 2027!

Grand Illusions & Deadly Deals: Magicians: The Devil’s Deal Revealed for 2027!

Fresh from the Xbox Games Showcase, a mesmerising new nightmare is brewing in the gaming world. Publisher Focus Entertainment and the veteran Australian indie developer Uppercut Games have officially pulled back the curtain on their latest collaboration: Magicians: The Devil’s Deal.

Set to materialise in 2027, this dark, narrative-driven first-person shooter is skipping the rabbit-and-hat tricks for something far more sinister. It will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and will be available Day One on Xbox Game Pass.

Step Into Theatreland: Hell’s Victorian Stage

In Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, players will step into the polished shoes of Jacob Menteuro, a brilliant stage illusionist whose talent once bordered on the supernatural. Key word: once.

After being brutally betrayed by his bitter rivals—a cabal known simply as “The Masters”—Jacob is cast down into the depths of Hell. But this isn’t your typical lake of fire. Jacob finds himself trapped in Theatreland, a twisted, shifting, and nightmarish reflection of 19th-century Victorian London where performance dictates power, and deception is the only way to survive.

Faced with eternal torment, Jacob receives a lifeline from the ultimate audience member: the Devil himself. Striking a treacherous pact, Jacob’s theatrical illusions are transformed into terrifying, genuine supernatural abilities. Armed with hellish magic and fueled by pure rage, he sets out across Theatreland’s shifting realms to hunt down the Masters, steal their powers, and claim his bloody revenge.

    When Illusions Become Lethal Weapons

As a narrative-driven FPS, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal promises to flip traditional shooter mechanics on their head by turning classic stagecraft into instruments of death:

    • Weaponised Spectacle: Throw playing cards that slice through enemies like razor-sharp projectiles.
    • Crowd Control: Conjure heavy chains to ensnare crowds of relentless fanatics and nightmarish demonic performers.
    • Bending the Rules: Manipulate gravity and distort the environment to turn the arena into your personal stage.

Every realm you explore is ruled by a different Master, demanding that you adapt your approach, combine abilities, and master increasingly chaotic, high-stakes confrontations. But remember—in a world built on temptation, every ounce of power Jacob claims drags him just a little bit deeper into the darkness.

    What to Expect in 2027

Brought to life by Uppercut Games (the talented industry veterans behind atmospheric titles like Submerged and City of Brass), this original IP marks an exciting new partnership with Focus Entertainment. With its blend of gripping narrative, fast-paced combat, and a starkly beautiful, gothic-horror aesthetic, it’s already shaping up to be one of 2027’s most distinct action titles.

TechMash Verdict: If you’ve ever wanted to play a gothic, spell-slinging Bioshock meets Prestige in the heart of a hellish Victorian London, this is absolutely one to keep on your radar.

Watch the official reveal trailer now, lock in your calendars for 2027, and get ready to play the ultimate trickster.

  • Boot Up the Nostalgia: Village Studios Unveils ‘Hack ’95’ at PC Gaming Show—And the Demo is Live!

Boot Up the Nostalgia: Village Studios Unveils ‘Hack ’95’ at PC Gaming Show—And the Demo is Live!

Hold onto your floppy disks and fire up your dial-up modems, because the golden age of computing is making a massive, neon-soaked comeback.

In a worldwide exclusive at the PC Gaming Show, developer Village Studios officially announced Hack ’95—a computer hacking RPG that brilliantly mashes up retro desktop simulation with tactical card-battling mechanics. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like an elite Hollywood hacker from a 90s thriller, this is your ticket back to yesteryear.

Even better news? You don’t have to wait until the late nineties to play it. A free demo is live on Steam right now!

Dialling Into the Plot: Geeks, Freaks, and Big Tech Conspiracy

Set in a fictionalised, pixel-perfect reimagining of 1995, the game drops you into the shoes of an employee at the shady Axis Megasystems. Your elite hacker best friend, mega_hurtz, has gone missing under incredibly suspicious circumstances, and it’s up to you to navigate the corporate desktop infrastructure to uncover the truth.

To solve the mystery, you’ll have to hack your way from underground IRC chatrooms straight to the heart of an evil tech startup and a shadowy government agency. The writing team features some serious industry pedigree, with the script overseen by veteran games journalist and bestselling author Keith Stuart, and game direction by Will Luton (formerly of SEGA and Rovio).

    According to Stuart:

“The culture of the internet and videogames in this era was so weird and dark, yet wildly optimistic. And although it’s set in ’95, the story is really about rebelling against big tech and regaining the freedom of the net. It couldn’t be more timely.”

Cyberpunk Meets Yu-Gi-Oh: How It Plays

Instead of forcing you to memorise actual command lines or C++ strings, Hack ’95 translates cyber warfare into a highly addictive, pick-up-and-play deck-builder. Heavily inspired by 90s trading card games like Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh, you’ll draw scripts, viruses, and hijacked computer protocols to overpower the firewall defences of target devices.

Outside of the card battles, the game is an immersive love letter to old-school operating systems. You’ll be browsing the web on “Navigate ’95,” dodging flaming GIFs, listening to licensed 90s dance bangers from artists like N-R-G and Nookie, and taking advice from Assistant Bert—an incredibly helpful, mildly incontinent virtual pug who acts as your Microsoft Clippy-style companion for federal cybercrimes.

    Jack In From Today

Hack ’95 perfectly captures the thrill of exploring someone else’s desktop, discovering forbidden folders, and sticking it to the man—all while a CRT filter warms your eyes.

The full game is coming to PC, but you can download the Hack ’95 Demo on Steam today to play through the opening sequence, test out your deck-building skills, and meet Assistant Bert.

Let us know in the comments below: What’s your favourite piece of 90s tech nostalgia?

Cults & Creatures: Why Monster Zoo Tycoon is the Darkly Comedic Management Sim We Need

Remember the golden era of management sims? You’d spend hours carefully placing paths, designing the perfect habitats, and making sure your guests had enough burger venues to stay happy.

Well, throw out the cotton candy and grab your ritual robes. Revealed fresh out of the IGN Live Indie Loop showcase, Monster Zoo Tycoon is taking the classic tycoon formula and dragging it kicking and screaming into the underworld. Developed by Overpowered Team and published by indie.io, this upcoming title tasks you with building a bustling monster park… that doubles as a front for a literal secret cult.

    Talk about a corporate pivot.

    The Ultimate Two-Front Management Chaos

On the surface, your job is simple: build a family-friendly destination featuring the world’s most spectacular supernatural entities. We’re talking vampires, zombies, werewolves, and full-blown world-ending horrors.

But behind the scenes, you aren’t just managing ticket prices. You’re running a subterranean organisation dedicated to the Dark Lord.

          • Manage Diet (Blood/Souls)• Sacrifice for "Faith" points
          • Prevent Containment Chaos• Unlock Dark Lord's Favors

Guest Management Takes on a Whole New Meaning

In a normal tycoon game, an unhappy guest leaves a bad review. In Monster Zoo Tycoon, a guest is a resource. You can lure unsuspecting visitors through your gates and use devious traps—disguised as harmless park props—to capture them. Once you have them, you face some choices:

    • Feed them: Some of your high-tier monsters require a steady diet of brains or souls to stay happy.
    • Brainwash them: Turn them into loyal cultists to expand your behind-the-scenes workforce.
    • Sacrifice them: Offer them up to generate Faith, which unlocks powerful Dark Lord’s Favours, new facilities, and worse hazards.

Navigating PR Disasters and Blood Rituals

Naturally, keeping a lid on this operation isn’t going to be easy. If you thought a broken-down roller coaster was a headache, try managing a werewolf breakout during peak park hours.

If containment fails, your escaped creatures will attack visitors, spreading absolute chaos and triggering disastrous chain reactions. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll also have to actively dodge nosy reporters, government investigators, and rival saboteurs who smell something fishy in the gift shop.

“Between monster breakouts, suspicious disappearances, public relations disasters, and the occasional blood ritual, keeping the zoo running is easier said than done.”

From sending cultists on wild expeditions to hunt down new legendary monsters to upgrading your roadside attraction into a global hub of supernatural terror, the gameplay loop looks incredibly addictive, deeply funny, and beautifully chaotic.

    Wishlist It Now

If you’re ready to trade in your panda enclosures for vampire crypts and blood sacrifices, Monster Zoo Tycoon is officially available to wishlist on Steam. Keep your eyes on TechMash for more updates, trailers, and release date announcements as they drop.

  • Back to the Macula: Why You Need to Pre-Order ‘Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy’ Right Now

Back to the Macula: Why You Need to Pre-Order ‘Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy’ Right Now

Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment are pulling us back into the beautifully grim world of the Macula, but this time, things look a little different. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has officially locked in its August 27, 2026, release date, and pre-orders are now live across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

If you loved the emotional, rat-infested journeys of Amicia and Hugo, you’ll want to pay close attention. Resonance is shifting the timeline, the gameplay, and the protagonist, promising a fresh, action-heavy direction for the franchise.

Here is everything you need to know about what’s changing, what to expect, and why secure your copy early.

    A New Hero and a Dual-Timeline Twist

Stepping away from the de Rune siblings, Resonance serves as a prequel set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem. This time, players take control of Sophia, the fierce, fan-favourite smuggler and plunderer.

Leaving the war-torn landscapes of medieval France behind, Sophia’s journey takes her to her childhood roots on the mysterious Minotaur’s Island (Crete). She is on a desperate quest to uncover her family’s dark connection to the ancient history of the Prima Macula.

    What Makes Resonance Different?

    • More Action, Less Hiding: While previous games focused heavily on stealth and evasion, Sophia is a hardened fighter. The gameplay pivots toward dynamic, violent melee combat, complete with parries and lethal finishing moves.
    • Time-Bending Mechanics: The game introduces a dual-timeline feature. Players will actively shift between Sophia’s Middle Ages and the ancient Minoan era, where actions taken in the past will directly warp and echo into the present battles.
    • Mythological Puzzles: Using a stolen Minoan sphere, you’ll manipulate light—a force woven into the island by Daedalus himself—to solve intricate environmental puzzles.

    Pre-Order Bonuses: The Heritage Pack

Securing your pre-order early doesn’t just guarantee your day-one spot on the island; it also bags you some exclusive digital goodies. Pre-ordering on any platform unlocks The Heritage Pack DLC, which includes:

    • The Minoan Sword: A unique, lore-rich weapon for Sophia.
    • Alec’s Pendant: An exclusive in-game cosmetic accessory.
    • A 30+ Page In-Game Artbook: Giving you a digital peek behind the scenes of Asobo’s gorgeous world design.

    Platform Breakdown: Where to Play

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is fully optimised for current-gen hardware and PC. Here is how the platforms shape up:

  • DMZ is Back: Everything We Learned From COD POD Ep. 11 for Modern Warfare 4

DMZ is Back: Everything We Learned From COD POD Ep. 11 for Modern Warfare 4

Call of Duty fans, it is time to prep your loadouts. Following the massive reveal of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign and multiplayer, Activision and Infinity Ward just dropped the ultimate tactical bombshell.

In COD POD Episode 11, the developers at Infinity Ward sat down for an exclusive “DMZ First Look,” giving us a massive deep dive into the completely evolved extraction mode launching with MW4 on October 23, 2026.

If you thought the original DMZ Beta was intense, you aren’t ready for what’s coming to the Hajin Exclusion Zone. Here is everything we learned from the episode and why this iteration is set to change the extraction shooter genre forever.

Welcome to Hajin: A Living, Volatile World

The original DMZ felt like a sandbox, but Modern Warfare 4 is turning it into a living combat ecosystem. Set on the Korean Peninsula in a region bordering Russia, the new map, Hajin, is directly forged by the explosive aftermath of the MW4 Campaign.

Infinity Ward is moving away from casual sandbox loops to deliver a persistent, gritty “hero’s journey” that can last for months. The environment itself is a threat, featuring a Dynamic Weather System. You might infil during a clear afternoon, only for a heavy snowstorm, dense fog, or torrential rain to roll in mid-match, completely destroying your visibility and altering how you approach a firefight.

The Forward Operating Base (FOB) & A Grounded Economy

Say goodbye to basic cooldown slots. In MW4, your entire DMZ experience revolves around your Forward Operating Base (FOB)—a persistent central hub you upgrade between matches.

Infinity Ward has completely overhauled how you gear up:

    • The 3D Printer: Looting actually matters now. You will scavenge the map for unique ingredients and rare recipes to 3D-print your own plate carriers and Killstreaks.
    • Cash-Driven Gunsmith: Unlike the beta, your weapons are driven by the cold, hard cash you extract. Money earned from contracts and looting is wired back to your FOB to build and customise your weapons.

Realism Check: Infinity Ward emphasized that they are sticking to a “grounded and authentic” aesthetic this time around, focusing heavily on realistic military tech rather than over-the-top cosmetics.

Story Missions, Dynamic Ops, and the Threat Level

When you deploy into Hajin, you can choose your focus: narrative-driven Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, or free exploration. However, the AI isn’t going to let you walk away easily.

MW4 introduces an escalating Threat System. As your squad infils and starts causing chaos, the local forces will actively track your activity. The higher your threat level, the more aggressive the AI reinforcements become. Enemies are categorised into distinct tiers, ranging from basic foot soldiers to lethal Lieutenants and map Commanders.

Want to hunt down a Lieutenant for high-tier dog tags? You can pay for intel at your FOB before the match, or risk it all by climbing Lieutenant Hunt Towers in-game to hack their locations. Just beware—the new Bounty Board means high-value players will be marked on the map for rival squads to hunt down.

    Tactical Healing and Refined Movement

Built on the upgraded engine of Modern Warfare 4, DMZ will feature smoother environmental traversal, including climbing pipes and fluid mantle mechanics.

But the biggest shift for survivalists is the health system. Survival is brutal, and Infinity Ward has added a layer of tactical medical management. For example, using a tourniquet to stop bleeding might save your life, but it will permanently reduce your maximum health by 50 points for the rest of the match until you find a proper medical extraction tool.

The Verdict: A True Extraction Shooter

Infinity Ward listened to the feedback from the original Beta. They are treating DMZ not as a side-hustle mode, but as MW4’s definitive third pillar alongside Campaign and Core Multiplayer. With persistent inventory, a logical looting ecosystem, and deep character progression, this is the hardcore extraction experience fans have been begging for.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and the new DMZ land on October 23, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Are you dropping into Hajin solo, or is your squad already building their strategy? Let us know in the comments below!

Fallout 76: Infestations Launch Trailer Teases Deadly New Threats And 4-Star Legendary Loot

Bethesda has dropped the official launch trailer for its latest free update, Fallout 76: Infestations, giving dwellers a gritty, action-packed look at the new chaos taking over Appalachia. If you thought the wasteland was already dangerous, it’s time to stock up on RadAway and grab your best weapons—things are about to get a lot more crowded.

    What Is Fallout 76: Infestations?

The Infestations update introduces a dynamic twist to exploration. Familiar locations across the West Virginia map are being overrun by “infested” zones. These areas become hotbeds for high-level, aggressive enemy variants that will test the mettle of even the most seasoned Vault dwellers.

If you’re willing to brave the swarm, the risks come with some seriously massive rewards.

    Key Features In The Update:

    • Infested Zones: Dynamic map events where familiar landmarks are taken over by hordes of high-level foes.
    • 4-Star Legendary Gear: For the first time, players can hunt down elite enemies to secure highly coveted 4-Star Legendary weapons and armour mods.
    • Free Daily Rewards: To celebrate the launch, Bethesda is offering free daily in-game rewards for players logging in between June 7 and June 15.

The trailer perfectly captures the frantic energy of squad-based combat, showcasing players defending their C.A.M.P.s and raiding infested zones with everything from heavy plasma rifles to modified melee weapons. It’s clear that teamwork—or an incredibly overpowered build—is going to be essential to survive the outbreak.

    Gear Up, Dweller

The Infestations update is officially live and free for all players across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Log in this week to claim your daily rewards and start farming that elite 4-star gear before the bugs take over for good!

Are you jumping back into Appalachia to clear out the infestations? Let us know your build strategies in the comments below!

  • From Clicks to Crafting: Why RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the Survival Game We Didn’t Know We Needed

From Clicks to Crafting: Why RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the Survival Game We Didn’t Know We Needed

For 25 years, the name RuneScape has conjured up very specific mental images: clicking on willow trees for hours, running away from the Wilderness Zamorak mages, and asking strangers to trim your armour (please don’t fall for it).

But Jagex is doing something wildly unexpected, and it’s officially time to pay attention. Fresh off the massive announcements at Summer Game Fest 2026, the studio has confirmed that its breakout open-world survival crafting spin-off, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, is officially leaving Steam Early Access and hitting a full 1.0 release on September 15, 2026.

Not only is it coming to PC, but it is making history by launching on PlayStation 5 (as a Day One launch on PS Plus Extra/Premium) and Xbox Series X|S. Yes, you read that right—a RuneScape title is finally debuting on consoles.

If you’re wondering whether this is just a reskinned Valheim or another tedious survival grind, here is why Dragonwilds is shaping up to be one of the most exciting departures the franchise has ever taken.

Welcome to Ashenfall: No Nostalgia Required

The absolute best part about Dragonwilds? You don’t need to know your Zaros from your Guthix to play it.

The game drops you (either solo or in a co-op team of four) onto an entirely new, undiscovered continent named Ashenfall. The lore is fresh, the landscape is rich with untamed “anima” magic, and you play as an original character.

That being said, long-time fans will find plenty of brilliant nods to the franchise’s DNA. You’ll be exploring hand-crafted biomes, completing quests, and battling legendary creatures like Zogres, Black Knights, and the fearsome Garou.

    “Survival-Light” Meets Sorcery

Let’s be honest: some survival games feel more like a second job. Keeping track of calorie intakes, hydration levels, and body temperature can sometimes suck the fun out of exploring.

Jagex has explicitly pitched Dragonwilds as a “survival-light” experience. There are no tedious hunger bars to baby. Instead, the focus is squarely on gathering, building, levelling up your skills, and using a highly unique magic system called Survival Through Sorcery.

Because Ashenfall is bursting with wild magic, you can harness the environment in incredibly fun ways:

    • Need lumber? Don’t just chop—summon a spectral axe to fell an entire grove in seconds.
    • Getting swarmed? Blink out of danger in a cloud of magic.
    • Need resources? Snap your fingers to explode ore veins, or literally conjure a tornado of fish out of a nearby lake.

It takes the classic RuneScape “skilling” grind and turns it into a fast-paced, magical playground.

What’s Coming at Launch? > When the 1.0 version drops this September, it’s not just the base game. It will include the brand-new Scorned Wilderness update alongside all the content from the upcoming Umbral Sands expansion.

The Ultimate Goal: Slaying the God Eater

You aren’t just building a cosy log cabin to admire the scenery. There is a looming threat over Ashenfall: the dragons have awoken.

Your entire progression loop—brewing potions, forging high-tier gear, and unlocking devastating spells—is designed to help you follow a trail of destruction. Your ultimate target? Kuldra the God Eater, a terrifying Dragon Queen who will require serious co-op coordination (and a lot of high-level food) to take down.

    Why It’s Worth Your Time

Having already surpassed 1 million copies sold during its PC Early Access phase, the community-driven roadmap has clearly struck a chord. Jagex has been listening intently to player feedback, polishing the combat, and preparing for a massive multi-platform launch.

Whether you are a seasoned Gielinor veteran looking for a fresh perspective or a survival fan who just wants to blow up iron ore with magic, RuneScape: Dragonwilds deserves a spot on your wishlist before the September madness begins.

  • That’s No Moon Reimagines Crossfire as a Single-Player PC Powerhouse

That’s No Moon Reimagines Crossfire as a Single-Player PC Powerhouse

The tactical shooter landscape is about to get a major shake-up. Independent AAA studio That’s No Moon—founded by veteran developers behind Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward—has officially pulled back the curtain on its debut game. Fresh from its big reveal at Summer Game Fest, the studio is reimagining Smilegate’s massive multiplayer IP, Crossfire, as a premium, narrative-driven single-player tactical action-adventure.

Even better news for the master race? It is officially locked and loaded for a PC release.

A Radical Departure for the Crossfire Universe

For over a decade, Crossfire has been a titan of competitive, first-person multiplayer matchmaking. But That’s No Moon is throwing the old rulebook out the window. Shifted into a cinematic third-person perspective, this new title focuses heavily on a linear, character-driven campaign.

The story drops players into the treacherous Atlas Mountains, following a mercenary named Layla Qassem (played by Claudia Doumit). After a routine recon mission goes completely sideways, Layla is forced into a fragile, highly unstable alliance with an opposing Tier-One Operator, Delroy Cross (played by Ricky Whittle).

You’ll play exclusively as Layla, navigating a fraught relationship where trust isn’t guaranteed, but cooperating is the only way to survive an overwhelming global threat.

Redefining the Cover Shooter with “Adaptive Cover”

What makes this PC release incredibly exciting isn’t just the pedigree of the storytelling team—it’s the tech powering the gameplay. The developers are using Unreal Engine 5 to introduce a genre-reinventing mechanic called Adaptive Cover.

“With Adaptive Cover, the player character dynamically responds to the complex terrain around her and enemy positions to adjust her stance to maintain cover. This creates a greater sense of immersion and becomes an active skill to refine and master.”Jacob Minkoff, Game Director

Instead of the traditional, rigid “press button to lock behind a box” mechanic seen in older third-person shooters, Crossfire features a fluid visibility system. Stances and cover adjust automatically based on line-of-sight vectors and uneven geometry.

    Hardcore Strategy Meets Cinematic Action

The studio aims to bridge the gap between punishing military simulators and accessible action blockbusters. On PC, players can expect a highly tactical experience where brainpower trumps mindless firepower:

    • Tactical Stealth: Smart positioning, flanking, and breaking enemy sightlines are essential.
    • Squad-Based AI: Enemy NPCs won’t just brainlessly rush you; they use suppressive fire, coordinate flanks, and actively hunt your last known location.
    • Dynamic Companion Mechanics: While Delroy Cross isn’t playable, he acts independently in combat—providing suppressive fire and distracting enemies based on your tactical choices.

The game is being built as a complete premium experience with no paid DLC planned, meaning PC players will get a full, polished narrative right out of the box.

Keep your eyes on TechMash for more updates, specifications, and a release date as they drop!
