Their latest project, Nova Roma, officially marched into Early Access on March 26, 2026, and it’s already proving to be a heavyweight contender in the strategy genre.
Published by the strategy specialists at Hooded Horse, Nova Roma isn’t just a Roman reskin of their previous work. It’s a deep, systems-driven simulation where the gods are petty, the water is wet, and your citizens have very high expectations.

The simulation goes right down to the individual citizen. Workers physically walk from their homes to their jobs. If you build your logging camp three miles from your residential district, your workers will spend their entire day commuting, leading to zero productivity and very grumpy plebeians.
