Meet the Minister of Flesh: Starfinder: Afterlight Drops Sinister New Villain Details at Tacticon!

The Pact Worlds are about to get a lot more dangerous. At Tacticon, developer Epictellers Entertainment pulled back the curtain on Starfinder: Afterlight, giving fans a spine-chilling look at one of the game’s primary antagonists.

If you thought exploring neon-lit space stations and undead worlds was going to be a walk in the park, think again. Say hello to Velkan Droth—though you’ll likely come to fear him by his much more sinister moniker: The Minister of Flesh.

A Villain Born of Cosmic Horror

Described by Epictellers’ CEO Ricard Pillosu as a twisted cross between the Joker and Ted Bundy, the Minister of Flesh is an Azrinaran Elf hailing from the notorious planet of Apostae. Voiced by the incredibly talented Christopher Tester (whom tactical RPG fans will immediately recognise as Heinrix from Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader), Velkan Droth serves as a key antagonist across the game’s first two acts.

Droth isn’t just your run-of-the-mill space pirate or galactic warlord. He is a highly unpredictable, deeply charming, and completely sadistic hired gun. Driven by a traumatic past and guided by a mysterious voice only he can hear, he treats his assassinations not as mere jobs, but as elaborate, gruesome works of art.

Worse yet? He has a deeply personal, unsettling obsession with one of your core companions, a Borai named Sterling.

“We still have much to reveal about his past and true intentions, and we can’t wait to see our community dig into our very first villain.” > — Ricard Pillosu, CEO and Co-Founder of Epictellers Entertainment

  • Sinner to Weapon: Meet Saro, the Inquisition’s New Sanctioned Psyker in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

Sinner to Weapon: Meet Saro, the Inquisition’s New Sanctioned Psyker in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

The Holy Inquisition of the Imperium has never been known for its mercy, but it certainly knows how to recycle a sinner.

Owlcat Games has dropped a blazing new trailer for their highly anticipated grimdark cRPG, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. The spotlight this time shines directly on Saro, a newly revealed companion who perfectly embodies the cold, pragmatic philosophy of the Inquisition: if you can be used as a weapon for the God-Emperor, your sins can wait.

Check out the trailer drop and everything we know about this volatile new ally below.

The Soul of a Sinner, the Might of a Pyromancer

In the bleak universe of Warhammer 40,000, psykers are a walking existential threat. Intuned with the terrifying currents of the Warp, they can snap and unleash Chaos at any moment. Most are hunted down and executed. The “lucky” ones? They get broken, rebuilt, and turned into living weapons.

That is exactly the hand Saro was dealt. After undergoing a brutal and harrowing sanctioning process, he now serves the Tyrantine Cabal of the Inquisition.

“Even though he is now deemed a sinner who will never be granted the blessed light of the God-Emperor, his iron will and fervent belief in the Imperium have helped him survive countless battles as well as the lure of the warp.”

    High Risk, Blazing Rewards

If you like your tactical combat with a side of extreme danger, Saro is going to be your go-to companion.

    • The Power: In combat, Saro unleashes devastating pyromancy abilities. He is capable of conjuring massive firestorms that can incinerate heretics, mutants, and xenos alike in a single turn.
    • The Catch: Wielding the Warp comes at a heavy cost. Lean too hard on Saro’s psychic abilities, and you will cause catastrophic disturbances in the Empyrean. This can trigger volatile warp phenomena or accidentally summon literal daemons straight into the middle of your battlefield.
    • The Weakness: While his supernatural knowledge is invaluable for the game’s detective investigations and his destructive output is massive, Saro is a classic glass cannon. He lacks physical strength, meaning you’ll need to use the game’s revamped cover system to keep him safe.

    Play the Closed Beta Today

Saro is just one of the ten distinct companions players will be able to recruit into their Inquisitorial warbands.

Want to test his pyromantic firestorms for yourself? The Closed Beta for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is officially running right now. You can gain instant access to Act 1 of the beta by purchasing one of the Founder’s Packs directly from Owlcat Games’ official website.

The full game is currently available to wishlist on Steam and is slated to launch on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Time to Re-Enlist, Lord Captain: Why Rogue Trader’s ‘The Infinite Museion’ DLC Demands a New Playthrough

Time to Re-Enlist, Lord Captain: Why Rogue Trader’s ‘The Infinite Museion’ DLC Demands a New Playthrough

If you thought your duties as a Lord Captain of the Koronus Expanse were finished, think again. Owlcat Games has just dropped a massive reason to fire up the voidship engines and dive straight back into the grim darkness of the far future.

The Infinite Museion, the third major story expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, is officially available right now across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Whether you are looking to finish what you started or completely reshape your legacy with a brand-new character build, this DLC seamlessly injects a hoard of ancient secrets, cybernetic overhauls, and iconic lore directly into the main campaign. Here is why The Infinite Museion gives you the perfect excuse to launch another playthrough.

    1. You’re Entering the Vault of Trazyn the Infinite

For lore enthusiasts, this is the big one. The expansion draws you into the legendary, galaxy-spanning vaults of Trazyn the Infinite, one of the Necron faction’s most cunning, charismatic, and diabolical figures. Trazyn doesn’t just want to fight you; he treats whole civilisations, historical events, and prominent figures as pieces for his ultimate museum collection.

As you stumble upon hidden agendas across the Koronus Expanse starting in Act 2 (and rolling through Acts 4 and 5), you’ll find yourself playing a dangerous game of wits with an ancient alien collector. Will you bargain with him, try to outsmart him, or actively oppose his designs? Your choices will leave a permanent mark on your dynasty’s history.

    2. Flesh is Weak: The New Augmentation System

If you’ve ever wanted to embrace the cold, logical purity of the Machine Spirit, your time has come. The DLC unlocks a brand-new medical compartment on your voidship: Sector Bionica.

Managed by the eccentric Tech-Priests Genetor Ferrenc and Vivisector Martinax, this bay allows you to surgically replace normal human limbs, eyes, and organs with over 100 different bionic implants.

    • The Catch: Every mechanical upgrade increases your Ferrum Sanctum stat, making you a walking powerhouse of mechanical synergy but increasingly vulnerable to electricity and EMP damage.
    • The Strategy: High-tier augments offer game-changing active abilities balanced by tactical penalties, forcing you to completely rethink your character builds.

Note: Choose your subjects wisely—your massive Space Marine companions, the proud Aeldari, and Lady Cassia will strictly refuse to let you touch them with a scalpel!

    3. Recruit an Eccentric New Companion

What’s an Owlcat DLC without an incredible new companion to shake up group dynamics? Enter Eogunn Februs, a devout servant of the Omnissiah and a Tech-Priest Manipulus with a dark, shrouded past.

As a battlefield asset, Eogunn is a premier support specialist capable of dishing out massive technological buffs and heavy-hitting mechanical abilities. Narratively, he brings immense tension to your retinue. The deeper you dig into his background, the more you’ll find yourself questioning where his true loyalties lie.

    4. Massive Perks for Heretic Playthroughs

If you’ve been looking for the perfect excuse to stray from the Emperor’s light, this update heavily reworks and rewards Heretical paths. Alongside the DLC, Owlcat has rolled out a major free patch addressing mechanical overhauls—including a massive buff to the Heretic Astartes companion Uralon, making him the terrifying powerhouse he was always meant to be. Combined with new storyline consequences and dialogue choices, a chaotic Heretic run has never felt more satisfying.

    Ready to Claim Your Legacy?

The Infinite Museion adds so many layers to the early-and mid-game campaign that continuing an old save simply won’t give you the full experience. From the restructured talent UI and reworked grenade mechanics to the sheer thrill of building a heavily augmented cyborg squad, the Koronus Expanse feels entirely refreshed.

The galaxy’s greatest museum is open for business, Lord Captain. Will you be an exhibit, or the master of the vault?

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – The Infinite Museion is out now on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Cosmic Adventures Await: Why Starfinder: Afterlight is Your Next Must-Play CRPG!

Cosmic Adventures Await: Why Starfinder: Afterlight is Your Next Must-Play CRPG!

The stars are aligning for science-fantasy fans! Starfinder: Afterlight, the upcoming party-based Computer Role-Playing Game (CRPG) from Epictellers Entertainment, is set to launch us into the vibrant, high-stakes universe of Paizo’s beloved Starfinder tabletop RPG. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect blend of tactical combat, deep narrative choices, and a galaxy-spanning adventure, prepare your starship—this is the game you’ve been looking for.

    What is Starfinder: Afterlight?

Starfinder: Afterlight is a single-player, story-driven CRPG that brings the rich lore and mechanics of the Starfinder tabletop game—specifically utilising the rules of the recently released Starfinder Second Edition—to life.

Set against the backdrop of the Pact Worlds, a galaxy-wide threat is looming, your captain is missing, and it falls to a ragtag crew of unlikely heroes (you and your companions) to save the day. Think of it as Baldur’s Gate 3 in space mixed with the high-octane crew dynamic of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Key Features That Will Excite Every Sci-Fi RPG Fan

Tactical Turn-Based Combat with the Three-Action System

The game promises a faithful adaptation of the Starfinder 2e ruleset, which is built on the acclaimed Pathfinder 2e foundation. This means:

    • Three Actions Per Turn: Every combat round, your characters get three actions (Move, Strike, Cast a Spell, etc.), leading to incredibly fluid and tactical battles.
    • Iconic Classes: You’ll command a party featuring iconic Starfinder classes like the Soldier, Envoy, Operative, Mystic, Solarian, and Witchwarper, each bringing a unique blend of magic and technology to the fight.
    • Alien Gear and Levelling: Gear up your crew with powerful tech and mystic artefacts as you level up and customise your abilities.

A Crew of Legends (and Misfits)

You won’t be alone on your journey! The game features a roster of up to six unique companions, from android assassins to mystic prophets.

    • Deep Personal Stories: Each companion comes with their own complex history and moral dilemmas.
    • Choices Matter: The bonds you forge (or break!) will impact their destinies and, crucially, the fate of the galaxy. Yes, you can even pursue romances!

    A Branching, Consequential Narrative

Epictellers Entertainment emphasises a story-driven experience where your actions truly have weight.

    • High Replayability: The campaign is estimated to be 40-60 hours long, but with a branching narrative and choices that lead to hundreds of unique paths, the replay value is immense.
    • Factions and Consequences: Factions will remember your deeds, and companions will judge your heart, ensuring that choosing “salvation or profit, mercy or vengeance” has lasting repercussions.

    Exploring the Vast Pact Worlds

Prepare for an interstellar adventure! The game will take you to famous locations across the Starfinder setting:

    • From the crowded, neon-lit sprawl of Absalom Station to the eerie, undead empire of Eox.
    • The universe is a place where digital gods and cosmic dragons coexist, offering a wild and wondrous backdrop for your quest.

    A Stellar Cast and Team

The excitement is amplified by the talent behind the scenes. Epictellers Entertainment, in partnership with Paizo, has secured a stellar voice cast with voice direction by none other than Neil Newbon (Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3). This commitment to quality voice acting and narrative is a clear sign of their ambitious vision for the game.

    The Stars Are Calling

Starfinder: Afterlight is currently an indie project that successfully launched its Kickstarter campaign, demonstrating massive community excitement. With an Early Access target of Q2 2026 and a full release planned for 2027 on PC via Steam, this sci-fi CRPG is gearing up to be the next big adventure for anyone who loves deep character customisation, strategic turn-based battles, and compelling, choice-driven storytelling.

Keep your sensors tuned for more details—the journey to save the galaxy is about to begin!
