All Aboard: Steampunk City-Builder ‘Steel Artery’ Chugs Onto Steam

If traditional city-builders leave you feeling a bit static, it’s time to pack your bags and catch a train. Publisher Crytivo, alongside solo indie developer SoulAge23, has officially announced that Steel Artery: Train City Builder is out now on Steam for PC.

Described as a “fantasy Snowpiercer,” this gorgeous indie strategy title trades the usual plots of land for a colossal, ever-moving locomotive called Steelpolis.

    A Living Civilization on Rails

In Steel Arteries, players don’t just build a metropolis; they manage an entire mobile civilisation wagon by wagon. The game is set in a striking steampunk fantasy world brought to life through highly detailed, atmospheric pixel art.

Unlike conventional management sims where you direct your citizens with a god-like cursor, Steel Artery utilises an economy-driven AI. The thousands of citizens walking your train decks are entirely autonomous. They work, rest, spend their wages, and socialise based entirely on their own immediate needs. If a job is too far down the train tracks, or if they’ve amassed enough gold to retire early, they will act accordingly. Your role is simply to provide the infrastructure, and hope you can maintain order.

    Key Features of Steel Artery:

    • The City on Rails: Build and customise a massive mobile empire. Every single wagon you attach serves as a new piece of vital infrastructure, housing, or production.
    • Multiracial Tensions: Your colonies aren’t just human. You’ll need to balance the vastly different cultural needs, preferences, and social pressures of Humans, Elves, and Orcs living in incredibly tight, crowded quarters.
    • Deep Logistics and Economy: Every carriage either generates or consumes resources. You’ll need to stop in resource-rich regions along the tracks to extract materials, while simultaneously balancing a delicate financial ecosystem of wages, housing costs, food supply, and entertainment.
    • Dynamic Exploration: Keep the empire moving. Explore diverse, distant regions to expand your reach and gather rare materials to keep the legendary Steelpolis running.

From Solo Passion Project to Release

The launch marks a massive milestone for solo dev SoulAge23, who posted a heartfelt message to the community celebrating the game’s arrival on Steam:

“What started as an idea for a moving city builder eventually became Steelpolis: a living train-city filled with autonomous citizens, production chains, logistical headaches, social tension, and the kind of emergent chaos that only happens when thousands of independent agents are all trying to live their own lives.”

With its low PC hardware requirements (needing just a dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM), Steel Artery is highly accessible for on-the-go strategy fans looking for a deep, highly replayable management sandbox.

Steel Artery: Train City Builder is available now on PC via Steam. If you want to support a fantastic solo indie project, head over to the Steam page, check out the trailer, and grab your ticket for Steelpolis.

  • Worshippers of Cthulhu Launches on Xbox Today

Worshippers of Cthulhu Launches on Xbox Today

The wait is finally over for console-bound cultists. After making waves on PC, the dark, atmospheric city-builder Worshippers of Cthulhu has officially emerged from the depths and launched on Xbox Series X|S today, March 27, 2026.

If you’ve ever felt that traditional city-builders were a bit too “sunshine and happiness,” developer Crazy Goat Games and publisher Crytivo have the perfect antidote. It’s time to stop worrying about park maintenance and start worrying about the patience of an Elder God.

Lead the Cult, Shape the World

In Worshippers of Cthulhu, you aren’t just a mayor; you are the Grand Cult Leader. Your goal isn’t to create a thriving utopia, but to prepare the world for the awakening of Cthulhu. This unique spin on the management genre blends complex production chains with a thick layer of cosmic horror.

Key features of the Xbox launch include:

    • Sacrificial Management: Balance your workforce by deciding who toils in the mines and who is “blessed” to be sacrificed in dark rituals to gain supernatural favours.
    • Eldritch Expansion: Conquer surrounding islands to gather resources, but beware—the non-believers won’t go down without a fight.
    • Divine Intervention: Perform rituals to communicate with Dagon and other Lovecraftian entities to unlock buildings and powers that defy the laws of physics.
    • The Patience Meter: Manage “Cthulhu’s Patience.” If you fail to meet the Great Old One’s demands, the consequences for your city—and reality itself—will be dire.

    Console-Ready Cultism

The transition to Xbox brings a revamped UI designed specifically for controllers, ensuring that managing your sprawling islands of madness feels intuitive. Whether you’re zooming in to watch your followers perform a ritual or managing the global inventory across multiple islands, the Xbox Series hardware keeps the atmospheric visuals crisp and the loading times (mercifully) short.

“We wanted to create a city builder where every choice feels heavy with consequence. In this world, there is no ‘wrong’ way to lead, only the Great Old One’s way.” — Crazy Goat Games

    Availability

Worshippers of Cthulhu is available right now on the Xbox Store. For those who prefer their horror on the go or on different hardware, the game is also available on Steam, where it currently holds a “Very Positive” rating. A PlayStation 5 version is also confirmed to be in development for a release later this year.

Are you ready to answer the call? The ritual begins today. Head over to the Xbox Store and start building your legacy—before the world ends.

Will you be leading your followers to glory or sacrifice today? Let us know in the comments!

  • Sword Hero Is Now Live On Kickstarter

Sword Hero Is Now Live On Kickstarter

The indie RPG scene has a new heavyweight contender. Sword Hero, developed by solo creator ForestWare, officially launched its Kickstarter campaign on January 27, 2026. In a testament to the community’s hunger for old-school design, the project smashed its initial funding goal of $35,000 in less than two hours.

Here is what you need to know about this “Gothic-inspired”, ambitious open-world title.

    The Vision: A “Gothic-Like” Evolution

Sword Hero is a love letter to the hardcore RPGs of the early 2000s, specifically the Gothic series. You play as “The Delver,” a nobody stranded on the quarantined island of Wes. Unlike modern titles that hold the player’s hand, Sword Hero treats you with refreshing indifference: the world does not scale to your level, and the wilderness is genuinely dangerous.

    Core Gameplay Features

    • Systemic Open World: A completely seamless island with no loading screens—even when entering caves or buildings.
    • Limb-Based Combat: Battles are tactical and visceral. You can target specific body parts to disable enemies, causing wounds, fractures, or full dismemberment.
    • Living NPCs: Characters follow strict daily routines and possess a “memory system.” If you commit a crime or help someone, they will remember and react accordingly.
    • Visible Progression: Your character’s growth is reflected physically. High strength increases muscle mass, while tough battles leave permanent scars or require prosthetic limbs.

    Campaign Status and Stretch Goals

As of late January 2026, the campaign is in high gear. Having already doubled its base funding within the first day, the developer is eyeing stretch goals that include:

    • Expanded content and deeper faction questlines.
    • Enhanced visuals and professional animation support.
    • Refined systems for player-owned housing and businesses.

“The world doesn’t slow down for you… survival depends on understanding how its systems interact.” — ForestWare

    Why It’s Trending

The game has gained significant traction due to its “immersion-first” philosophy. Features like non-disappearing corpses, telekinetic magic based on physics, and the absence of “invisible walls” have positioned it as a bridge between the clunky charm of retro RPGs and the technical depth of modern simulations like Kenshi.
