Finally! Jason Voorhees Hacks His Way Into Dead by Daylight This June

For a decade, Dead by Daylight fans have had one ultimate dream on their horror wishlist. We’ve seen Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and Ghostface stalk through The Fog, but the crown prince of Camp Crystal Lake was always missing. Legally locked away in a chaotic maze of licensing disputes, he felt like the one iconic slasher the game would never truly capture.

Well, wipe off that machete and put on your favourite hockey mask, because the impossible just became reality.

Behaviour Interactive has officially announced that Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight on June 16, 2026.

Serving as the absolute crown jewel of the game’s monumental 10th Anniversary celebration (Chapter 40), the Friday the 13th icon is finally ready to show the Entity how real butchery is done. If you happen to be playing on Steam’s Public Test Build (PTB), you can actually jump in right now to test his mechanics ahead of the global launch.

Here is everything we know about how Jason is going to completely upend the DbD meta.

Welcome to the Camp: Jason’s Killer Abilities

Jason isn’t just another M1 brute with a knife; Behaviour has built a terrifying, lore-accurate kit that brings his supernatural cinematic presence to life. He will launch with two devastating core abilities:

    1. Omnipresent Evil

Ever wonder how Jason manages to casually walk after a sprinting teenager and somehow still teleport right in front of them? This is how. Omnipresent Evil is a high-octane stealth power that allows Jason to completely vanish from the map. While invisible, he moves at an accelerated speed and tracks survivors via subtle footstep cues. To manifest, he must target environmental structures like pallets, vault windows, or breakable walls—bursting out of them for the ultimate jump scare.

    2. Improvised Carnage

Jason utilises his environment like no other slasher. With Improvised Carnage, Jason can grab scattered debris across the map—think locker fragments, broken generator parts, or shattered pallets—and hurl them as deadly projectiles. A successful hit staggers survivors. Even worse? If you hit an already injured survivor near a wall, the projectile will literally pin them in place, leaving them completely helpless.

Bonus Wardrobe: Jason will launch with four unique outfits on June 16. His default look features his classic 13-holed hockey mask and weathered clothing, but a “Backwoods Terror” outfit has also been teased for players looking to change up their killer style.

Why This is a Historic Win for Horror Gaming

To understand why the community is collectively losing its mind, you have to look back at the tragic death of Friday the 13th: The Game. Due to a brutal, multi-year legal deadlock over the rights between original writer Victor Miller and Horror Inc., the dedicated asymmetrical game was forced to halt content updates and was completely delisted in 2023.

The horror genre felt fragmented. But thanks to the recent “Jason Universe” initiative by Horror Inc.—which was designed to finally streamline the franchise’s rights for multimedia and gaming—Behaviour Interactive was able to strike a deal just in time for their 10th anniversary.

    Mark Your Calendars

The global cross-platform release drops on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and last-gen consoles.

The 10th-anniversary festivities will run from June 16 through July 7, complete with exclusive cosmetics and community rewards. Behaviour is also hosting a massive live event in Montreal on June 14 to show off more gameplay panels right before the update goes live.

The Fog is about to get a whole lot bloodier. Survivors, you have been warned.

  • Copy, Paste, and Break the Rules: Yerba Buena is Out Now on PC, PS5, and Xbox!

Copy, Paste, and Break the Rules: Yerba Buena is Out Now on PC, PS5, and Xbox!

If you’ve ever looked at a glitchy background character in an open-world game and wondered what their life is like, your next gaming obsession has arrived. Focus Entertainment and developer Mad About Pandas have officially dropped Yerba Buena, and it’s available to play right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Set against a surreal, stylised backdrop of 1970s San Francisco, this isn’t your average indie puzzle-platformer. It’s a reality-bending trip that flips traditional game mechanics right on their head.

    From Nobody to Main Character

In Yerba Buena, you step into the retro boots of Barb, a young woman who discovers she is actually just an NPC trapped inside an abandoned, unfinished video game production. When a sinister plot, a rogue biker gang, and a spreading digital glitch threaten her beloved city, Barb has to break out of her background programming and become the main character she was never meant to be.

    Master the Ultimate “Copy-and-Paste” Mechanic

What truly sets this title apart is its mind-melting physics weapon: The Oscillator.

Instead of just jumping over obstacles, you get to rewrite the rules of the environment using a literal “Copy and Paste” mechanic. See a trampoline? Copy its bouncing properties and paste them onto a concrete block to launch yourself to the next tier. Need to cross a massive gap? Scan a passing car, copy its horizontal movement vector, and paste it onto a literal apartment building to slide it across the street.

The game encourages you to stack properties, experiment, and break the map to find your own solutions. It’s a bit like Portal met a funky 1970s sci-fi zine, and we are absolutely here for it.

    Play It Today

Yerba Buena is available now for $24.99 / £19.99. If you played the recent Steam demo, you’re in luck—all of your progression carries right over to the full game.

Whether you’re looking for a fresh brain-teaser or just want to hurl a few buildings around a retro San Francisco, grab your controller or mouse and dive in today.

    Give Us Your Thoughts!

Are you ready to take control of Barb and hack the system? Let us know in the comments below what crazy combinations you’ve cooked up with the Oscillator!

  • Beyond Pokémon: Why LumenTale: Memories of Trey is the Next Monster Collector You Need to Play

Beyond Pokémon: Why LumenTale: Memories of Trey is the Next Monster Collector You Need to Play

The monster-collecting genre is having a serious moment, and Team17 and Beehive Studios just dropped a massive new contender onto the scene. If you’ve been itching for a fresh take on the creature-catching formula, your next obsession has arrived. LumenTale: Memories of Trey is officially OUT NOW on PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch!

Developed by the brilliant minds behind the wildly popular fan game Pokémon Xenoverse, LumenTale steps away from the shadow of its inspirations to deliver a gorgeous, deeply mechanical RPG that stands firmly on its own two feet.

Here is everything you need to know about your next gaming addiction.

The Story: A Cyborg, a Broken Land, and Forgotten Memories

You step into the metallic boots of Trey, an amnesiac cyborg who wakes up in the world of Talea with absolutely no recollection of his past. After being rescued and brought to Iris Hamlet, Trey sets out on a grand quest to discover his identity.

To do that, he must become a Lumen—a specialised trainer who commands teams of mysterious creatures known as Animon. Your journey will take you across a continent fractured by ideology. Right from the start, the choice is yours:

    • The South (Mythos): A land steeped in deep spiritualism, ancient ruins, and centuries-old tradition.
    • The North (Logos): A high-tech, futuristic society that embraces progress, machinery, and innovation.

It’s a fantastic narrative hook that adds a layer of depth rarely seen in traditional monster-tamers.

Gameplay: Shaking Up the Turn-Based Formula

If you think this is just another “catch ’em all” clone, think again. While the core loop of exploring the wild and building a team is familiar, LumenTale throws some incredible curveballs at the genre norms:

    • Epic 4v4 Battles: While the game features classic 1v1 duels, it truly shines during massive team battles. Managing up to four Animon on the field at once requires genuine strategy, synergistic typing, and foresight.
    • The Holoken Capture Mechanics: Catching Animon isn’t just about throwing a ball. You’ll test your real-time skills using the Holoken tool right in the overworld to recruit them to your squad.
    • Types & Attributes: Animon aren’t just bound by standard elemental types; they also possess unique attributes that completely alter how you build and optimise your party.
    • Your Own “Anispace”: Need a break from the grind? You can completely customise your own pocket dimension, craft helpful items, cook stat-boosting meals, and interact directly with your Animon squad.

    Visuals: A Gorgeous HD-2D Feast

Can we talk about the art style? LumenTale is absolutely breathtaking. The developers have opted for a stunning visual blend that marries lush, fully 3D environments with crisp, highly expressive pixel-art characters and Animon. Every town, forest, and dungeon pops with vibrant colour, making exploration a genuine visual treat.

Add in a dynamic Day & Night cycle—which changes exactly which Animon spawn in the wild—and Talea feels like a living, breathing world ripe for exploration.

Don’t Miss Out on the Early Adopter Bonus!

If you pick up LumenTale: Memories of Trey between May 26 and June 25, you’ll grab the Early Adopter Pack for free. This bundle includes rare in-game items to boost your Animon, exclusive furniture to decorate your Anispace, and rare cards for the game’s built-in card-collecting minigame.

The TechMash Verdict: While early reviews note some performance hiccups on the Nintendo Switch version, the sheer ambition, gorgeous HD-2D art, and tactical 4v4 combat make LumenTale a must-play for RPG fans. Grab it on Steam for the smoothest experience, or take it on the go with the Switch!

LumenTale: Memories of Trey is available now on Steam and the Nintendo eShop.

  • Factions Collide: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 04 Cinematic Teases Pure Chaos

Factions Collide: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 04 Cinematic Teases Pure Chaos

Treyarch and Activision have officially dropped the Season 04 Story Cinematic Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it is safe to say that the stakes have never been higher. If you thought the narrative was just a backdrop for multiplayer maps, think again. This season’s trailer positions the story right in the driver’s seat, promising an intense, morally grey, and explosive chapter that will shake up the Black Ops universe.

Check out the breakdown of what’s coming when the update officially launches on June 4.

The Plot: Karma, Dorne, and a Guild-Killing Virus

The narrative focus for Season 04 centres on a terrifying new threat. Karma’s devastating Guild-killing virus is finally primed and ready for deployment. However, the opposition isn’t backing down without a fight. Dorne has one final card left to play, setting the stage for a massive collision of forces.

The battleground for this narrative climax? A highly classified, secret JSOC jungle hideout. Who comes out on top will completely reshape the global balance of power, blurring the lines between ally and adversary like never before.

    Key Highlights from the Cinematic:

    • Tactile Atmosphere: The cinematic moves beautifully between war-torn urban ruins and frost-bitten outposts, utilising gritty, desaturated palettes and tactical lighting that make the environments feel incredibly lifelike.
    • Psychological Toll: This season leans heavily into themes of loyalty, deep-seated betrayal, and the high mental cost of modern warfare.
    • Information is Weaponry: The trailer heavily implies that success in Season 04 will require tactical reconnaissance and planning, rather than just raw trigger reflexes.

    Launch Date and Platforms

You won’t have to wait long to jump into the chaos. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 04 is scheduled to deploy on June 4.

The update will be available across all major platforms:

    • PlayStation 5 & PlayStation 4
    • Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One
    • PC (via Steam)

Get your squad ready—the countdown to the jungle hideout showdown has officially begun.

Time-Bending Action Meets HD-2D: Dive Into The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales on Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 owners, it’s time to fire up your eShops. Square Enix and Claytechworks have just dropped a brand-new Gameplay Trailer and a free playable Prologue Demo for one of the most anticipated action RPGs of the year: The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.

Brought to life by Team Asano—the legendary minds behind Octopath Traveller and Bravely Default—this upcoming title takes everything you love about their signature HD-2D visual style and injects it with fast-paced, real-time action.

Check out the stunning new gameplay trailer below to see the game in motion, and read on for what to expect from the freshly launched demo.

Step into the Savage World of Philabieldia

The game places you in the boots of the titular hero, Elliot, alongside his faithful fairy companion, Faie. Humanity is cornered in its last bastion, the Kingdom of Huther, protected only by the powerful barrier magic of Princess Heuria. When mysterious ruins are discovered just beyond the kingdom’s walls, Elliot is sent to investigate.

What starts as a reconnaissance mission quickly spirals into an epic saga across time once Elliot discovers the Doorway of Time, a mysterious artefact connecting the past and present.

Ditching the Turn-Based Grid for Real-Time Action

If you’re expecting the traditional turn-based combat of previous Team Asano games, think again. The Adventures of Elliot delivers simple, intuitive, and highly rewarding real-time combat. Here is what makes the gameplay loop so compelling:

    • Seven Dynamic Weapon Types: Master everything from swords and bows to chains and sickles, each featuring unique abilities and combat effects. You can equip two weapons at a time and swap between them seamlessly mid-battle.
    • Tactical Fairy Support: Your companion Faie isn’t just for show. In a brilliant twist, a second player can jump in via co-op mode to control Faie, helping to solve platforming puzzles, retrieve items, and cast crucial support abilities during fights.
    • Warp & Dash Mechanics: Elliot can dash to avoid danger or instantly teleport straight to Faie’s location using a warp mechanic, adding a thrilling layer of verticality and speed to exploration.
    • Weapon Enhancement: Deep within the game’s dungeons and puzzle shrines, you’ll discover magicite fragments used to upgrade and imbue your weapons with devastating elemental effects.

Play the Prologue Demo Today (And Keep Your Progress!)

The best news? You don’t have to wait until launch day to get a taste of Philabieldia. The newly released Prologue Demo is available to download right now on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop.

The demo covers the entire opening chapter of the game, offering you total freedom to progress the main quest, hunt for hidden weapons, blow open secret pathways with bombs, and experiment with the real-time combat system. Best of all, your save data will carry over to the full game, meaning all the magicite and loot you grind for right now won’t go to waste.

    Mark Your Calendars

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is shaping up to be an absolute must-play experience that perfectly showcases how beautiful HD-2D art looks on Next-Gen Nintendo hardware.

  • Unleash Hell: Conradical Games Announces ‘Wanted Shadows: Unchained’ Hits Steam This June!

Unleash Hell: Conradical Games Announces ‘Wanted Shadows: Unchained’ Hits Steam This June!

Indie gaming enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The talented minds at Conradical Games—the Swiss indie studio behind the quirky Desktop Defender and the beautifully papercraft RPG The Outbound Ghost—have just dropped some massive news. Their highly anticipated, action-packed, survival-like title, Wanted Shadows: Unchained, officially launches on Steam on June 8th, 2026!

If you are a fan of bullet-heaven madness, roguelite depth, and adrenaline-fueled arena combat, this is one release you’ll want straight at the top of your wishlist.

    What is Wanted Shadows: Unchained?

For the uninitiated, Wanted Shadows: Unchained is a standalone reimagining of the studio’s 2023 cult hit, Wanted Shadows. Rather than a simple definitive edition, Conradical Games has built this version from the ground up, turning it into a tighter, meaner, and far more chaotic beast.

Your mission remains beautifully simple: dive into purgatory, obliterate the creatures of the night trying to conquer the underworld, and perfect your character build until you are an unstoppable, god-like force of destruction.

What’s New in the ‘Unchained’ Edition?

Conradical Games has listened closely to community feedback, injecting a massive dose of steroids into the core mechanics. Here is what you can look forward to on June 8th:

    • Dual Weapon Combat: Why choose between tearing enemies apart up close or blasting them from afar? Unchained lets you equip both a melee and a ranged weapon simultaneously, opening the door to devastating, exclusive upgrade combos.
    • Compact, High-Intensity Arenas: The levels are shorter, tighter, and explicitly designed to cut out the fluff. Every single movement matters, ensuring non-stop action from the moment you spawn.
    • Deeper Progression & Power Ceilings: Expect more playable characters, a vast array of new upgrades, and a fresh achievement system that rewards you with permanent stat boosts to help you crush tougher-than-ever endgame threats.
    • A Living Hub World: Take a breather between chaotic runs. The newly added hub world allows you to interact with characters and dive deeper into the lore of the Shadows.

Loyalty Rewards & Future Console Launches

Conradical Games hasn’t forgotten the players who backed them early. If you already own the original 2023 Wanted Shadows on Steam, you will score a 50% discount on Unchained at launch via a special Steam bundle.

And for the console crowd? Don’t worry, you won’t be left in the dark for long. While PC players get first dibs on June 8th, the developers have confirmed that Wanted Shadows: Unchained will also be slicing its way onto Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.

Head over to Steam right now to check out the page, watch the trailer, and get that wishlist button clicked. Purgatory is waiting!

  • Lost on the Loop: ‘Anomaly Road’ Brings Driving Horror to Steam

Lost on the Loop: ‘Anomaly Road’ Brings Driving Horror to Steam

Indie horror fans, it is time to plan your next terrifying road trip. If you’ve spent the last year obsessed with spot-the-difference psychological thrillers like The Exit 8, there is a brand-new nightmare tracking your every move.

As of May 23, the official Steam Store Page for Anomaly Road is officially live, and it’s preparing to take us on a deeply unsettling drive through the isolated mountains of Japan.

Don’t Look Back: What is Anomaly Road?

Developed by Liner Studio, Anomaly Road takes the incredibly popular “anomaly-hunting loop” genre and puts you behind the wheel.

The premise is deceptively simple: you are driving deep in the mountains when you suddenly realise you are completely lost. As you round a dark, tight corner with a sinking feeling in your stomach, you find yourself trapped on a looping road.

    The Rules of the Road

To escape, you can’t just floor the accelerator. You have to survive the chaos of bizarre, looping phenomena by observing your surroundings with absolute precision. The game challenges you with:

    • Unusual oncoming traffic: Cars that just aren’t right.
    • Infinite tunnels: Roads that seem to stretch into absolute nothingness.
    • Unexplainable roadblocks: From random roadside bananas to sudden, aggressive supernatural creatures.
    • The psychological toll: A mix of genuine tension and bizarre occurrences that are so surreal, you might laugh—right before you scream.

If you spot something wrong, you’ll need to react immediately. One wrong turn or missed anomaly, and the loop resets.

Why the Anomaly Genre is Driving Us Crazy

Ever since The Exit 8 popularised the “spot the anomaly or turn back” mechanic, indie developers have been finding brilliant ways to reinvent the formula. Moving the setting from a liminal underground subway station to an oppressive, pitch-black Japanese mountain pass is a stroke of genius.

Driving naturally limits your vision and forces a forward momentum, making the sudden appearance of a glitching creature or an endless tunnel feel infinitely more claustrophobic.

TechMash Verdict: If you love psychological tension, driving simulators, and games that reward a sharp eye, Anomaly Road is absolutely one to watch.

    Wishlist It Now

While the game is listed as “Coming Soon,” the arrival of the Steam page means we won’t have to wait too long to test our observational skills on the asphalt. Head over to Steam, check out the eerie teaser trailer, and get Anomaly Road added to your wishlist today.

Have you got what it takes to spot the anomalies, or will you be stuck on the mountain forever? Let us know in the comments below!

  • From Trash to Cash: Picker Magnate Simulator Announced for Q4 2026

From Trash to Cash: Picker Magnate Simulator Announced for Q4 2026

Ever looked at a dusty piece of junk at a car boot sale and thought, “I could flip that for a massive profit”? Well, your hyper-specific dream of becoming a thrift shop titan is about to become a virtual reality. Solo developer Yuliy Oneshko and S-Grade Games have officially announced Picker Magnate Simulator, a single-player life simulation game that challenges you to build a resale empire from the absolute ground up.

Scheduled to launch in Q4 2026, the game is currently cooking for PC (Windows) and Linux, including full support for SteamOS—meaning you’ll be able to hustle on the go via the Steam Deck.

    What is Picker Magnate Simulator?

If you enjoy the micromanagement of shop simulators mixed with the rewarding loop of open-ended life sims, this one should be firmly on your radar.

You don’t start out as a high-end antique dealer. Instead, you begin your journey with nothing but an empty market stall and an eye for a bargain. Your goal? Buy up junk in bulk, hunt down rare hidden treasures, refurbish your finds, and slowly transform that humble little stand into a thriving, world-class thrift shop.

    Key Features to Expect:

    • Complete Shop Management: You are the boss. You’ll design your store layout from scratch, decide on your product mix (from everyday bric-a-brac to high-value collectables), hire staff, and choose exactly how to reinvest your hard-earned profits.
    • Hands-on Item Refurbishment: Buying inventory is only half the battle. You’ll sort your hauls by material and condition, and either roll up your sleeves to repair appliances and furniture yourself or outsource the tedious labour to your workers. You can even craft unique handmade items to sell at a premium.
    • RPG-Style Character Progression: You aren’t just a disembodied shop manager; you’re on the ground doing the dirty work. Players can level up character skills like strength, speed, and bargaining. Higher stats mean you can carry more weight, move faster, and aggressively negotiate better prices to maximise your margins.
    • Vehicle Ownership: Tired of breaking your virtual back hauling heavy furniture across town? Save up your cash and buy your own transport to scale up your operation and hit up distant suppliers.

    A Proven Simulator Track Record

While indie simulators are a dime a dozen these days, Picker Magnate Simulator comes with a promising pedigree. Developer Yuliy Oneshko has already found solid success in the quirky management space, having previously developed Trailer Park Tycoon: Raccoon Ranch and the popular Dog Brew, which has shifted over 25,000 units on Steam.

With localised interface and subtitle support for 30 languages right at launch, S-Grade Games is clearly aiming for a global audience of bargain hunters.

If you want to secure your spot in the resale racket, Picker Magnate Simulator is already available to wishlist on Steam ahead of its late 2026 release window.

  • No More Griefing: Next-Gen Survival Builder ‘The Infinite Expo’ Launches Open Beta on Roblox

No More Griefing: Next-Gen Survival Builder ‘The Infinite Expo’ Launches Open Beta on Roblox

Roblox has evolved far beyond its humble blocks, and indie developer Shell Sphere Studios is out to prove it. Following a concept demo that went massively viral last month, the studio has officially launched the Open Beta for its highly anticipated next-gen multiplayer survival building game, The Infinite Expo.

Available to play for free right now, this game completely reimagines what survival looks like on the platform.

    Survival in a Liminal Nightmare

Forget chopping down trees in a generic forest. The Infinite Expo drops players into an ultra-vast, procedurally generated, and eerily abandoned corporate convention centre. It is a striking multiplayer PvE survival experience set in a massive liminal space where humanity has completely vanished, leaving the facility’s rogue automated systems running completely amok.

During the day, you must explore the endless, carpeted hallways and exhibition booths to scavenge scattered furniture, display equipment, and structural materials. When night falls, the game shifts gears, blending the high-stakes tension of tactical tower defence with therapeutic, satisfying construction mechanics.

Check out the official Open Beta trailer to see the chaos and construction in action:

    Overcoming the Roblox Survival Hurdle

If you’ve played survival games on Roblox before, you know the heartbreak: you spend hours building a flawless base, only for a server disconnect to wipe it out, or a “griefer” to wander along and smash it to pieces.

Shell Sphere Studios is actively tackling these issues head-on by introducing three revolutionary core systems in this Open Beta:

    • The “Protect System” (Anti-Grief Territorial Protection): By deploying a “Protect Core” inside your base, you instantly secure your territory. This completely locks out unauthorised modifications and griefing from other players. Even better, defensive gadgets you find during the day—like sensor floodlights and electromagnetic shock panels—can be snapped right onto your walls. They function instantly with zero tedious wiring required.
    • The “Blueprint System” (Cross-Server Permanent Base Saving): Your hard work is officially safe. Players can now save their entire base layout as a permanent “Blueprint” linked to their profile DataStore. When you join a new server or a fresh world instance, you can project your blueprint and seamlessly rebuild your original home just by supplying the raw materials.
    • Therapeutic “ASMR Mining System”: Resource gathering shouldn’t feel like a chore. The developers have meticulously tuned multi-layered impact audio when breaking down objects with pickaxes, delivering a deeply relaxing, high-fidelity ASMR soundscape that makes the core loop incredibly addictive.

    Game Specs & Compatibility

Whether you are playing solo or teaming up with a squad, the game is heavily optimised for a premium multiplayer experience:

    • Platform: Roblox (PC, Mobile, Tablet, Gamepad, and VR compatible)
    • Server Capacity: 1–8 players recommended (Max 16 players per server)
    • Pricing: Free-to-Play (with optional in-game microtransactions)
    • Full Release Timeline: Summer 2026

Editor’s Note: For fans wondering about Shell Sphere Studios’ previously teased Japanese horror-adventure game, ZALAN, the studio has confirmed that development remains temporarily paused. Resources are being fully consolidated into ensuring The Infinite Expo gets the continuous updates and polished summer launch it deserves.

Ready to test your survival skills in the ultimate endless convention centre? Jump into the open beta today!

  • Purge the Heretic! Owlcat Games Launches Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy PC Closed Beta

Purge the Heretic! Owlcat Games Launches Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy PC Closed Beta

The Holy Inquisition has officially opened its ranks to the public. Fresh out of the annual Warhammer Skulls showcase, Owlcat Games—the critically acclaimed masterminds behind Rogue Trader and Pathfinder—has announced that the Closed Beta for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is officially live on PC.

If you’ve been itching to trade a rogue captain’s fancy hat for the brutal, unforgiving badge of an Inquisitorial Acolyte, your time has come.

How to Join the Beta: Become a Founder

Unlike standard betas that rely on lucky raffle draws or limited-time Steam Playtests, Owlcat is rewarding its core community. Access to the Closed Beta is guaranteed for any player who purchases one of the game’s Founder’s Packs directly via the official Owlcat Games website.

Depending on your dedication to the Imperium (and your budget), there are four tiers available:

    • Core Digital Pack: $39.99
    • Premium Digital Pack: $49.99
    • Developers Digital Pack: $79.00
    • Collector’s Edition: $289.00 (This bad boy includes a physical statue of your future Kroot companion, Ra’akhti!)

The best part? Owlcat has confirmed that once you’re in, you’re in. The Closed Beta will remain open and playable all the way up until the game’s official launch.

What’s Waiting for You in the Beta?

While last December’s Alpha test kept players confined to the gritty, disease-ridden slums of Marisportum Sectoris, the Closed Beta blows the doors wide open.

Players can expect around 20 hours of story-rich gameplay that transitions from the bottom of society straight to the high-class spires of Scintilla. You’ll be mingling with planetary elites, military high commands, and the Holy Clergy to uncover a massive web of corruption right inside the Planetary Governor’s palace.

    Key Gameplay Features:

    • A Deep Detective System: This isn’t just about shooting cultists. You’ll actively examine evidence, interrogate suspects, and piece together threads of conspiracy. Be warned: if you accidentally condemn an innocent NPC as a heretic, the game won’t stop you—but the world will absolutely react to your mistakes.
    • Revamped Turn-Based Combat: Owlcat rebuilt this system from scratch rather than reusing Rogue Trader’s engine. It features a reworked cover mechanic, a body-part targeting system (letting you maim specific enemy limbs), and a shifting Morale System that can cause enemies—or your own crew—to panic and surrender.
    • Meet Epione Spes: The beta introduces potential new companions, including Epione Spes, a cold, analytical medicae specialist from the Tyrantine Cabal who uses combat injectors to keep your squad breathing and razor-sharp scalpel claws to rip heretics apart.

  • Earn the Number: IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios Drop Explosive Launch Trailer for 007 First Light

Earn the Number: IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios Drop Explosive Launch Trailer for 007 First Light

The wait is almost over. For years, gamers have wondered who would finally rescue the James Bond franchise from its extended video game hiatus. Today, independent developer and publisher IO Interactive—the masters of stealth behind the acclaimed HITMAN World of Assassination trilogy—in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, have answered that call in style.

The duo has officially debuted the cinematic, high-stakes launch trailer for 007 First Light, offering our final, adrenaline-fueled look at James Bond’s reimagined origin story ahead of its global release next week.

Check out everything you need to know about Bond’s return to the digital world.

A New Bond for a New Era

Forget the seasoned, unflappable agent who already has his double-O status locked down. 007 First Light takes us back to the very beginning. Players step into the polished shoes of a 26-year-old James Bond, portrayed by Patrick Gibson. Recruited into MI6 after surviving a precarious situation in Iceland, this younger Bond is resourceful, brilliant, and entirely unproven.

The launch trailer shines a spotlight on the narrative core of the game: a clash of philosophies within MI6.

    • The Supporter: Bond finds an early ally in M (played by Priyanga Burford), who recognises his uncanny ability to maintain composure under immense pressure.
    • The Cynic: His instinctual, improvisational style immediately draws friction from John Greenway (Lennie James), a hardline former 00 agent and MI6’s strict training instructor.

When a rogue, former British operative known as 009 suddenly resurfaces, the newly revived 00-Programme faces its first true baptism by fire. Bond is thrown headfirst into a global manhunt that spans from a chess tournament in the Carpathian Mountains to the dangerous, tech-fueled black market of Aleph, leading straight into the lair of an unpredictable new villain named Bawma, played by the legendary Lenny Kravitz.

Spying, Your Way: The Four Core Pillars

While IO Interactive has used its powerful, proprietary Glacier engine to build the game, the studio has made it clear that 007 First Light is not just a “Hitman reskin.” The gameplay features greater forward momentum, blending the studio’s legendary stealth mechanics with cinematic, fluid action inspired by Uncharted and Batman: Arkham.

The launch trailer highlights the Creative Approach gameplay, which centres around four unique systems:

    Gameplay SystemWhat it Does
SpycraftFocuses on observation. Players can eavesdrop on conversations, pickpocket vital keycards, and find environmental clues to uncover hidden paths.
Bond’s InstinctGives players the social and psychological edge to lure enemies or bluff their way out of suspicion before cover is completely blown.
Q Branch GadgetsExpands tactical choices for hacking, lock cutting, and creating silent distractions. (Look out for a heavily modified Omega Seamaster watch!).
Fluid CombatWhen things go loud, the action shifts to high-octane close-quarters takedowns, ranged gunplay, and—for the first time in an IOI game—drivable vehicles like the Aston Martin Valhalla.

For players looking for longevity beyond the main campaign, the game also introduces Tactical Simulation (TacSim). Set inside a secret MI6 facility, this mode allows players to replay missions with unique modifiers to master their espionage skills.

    Release Date and Pre-Order Bonuses

The finish line is in sight. 007 First Light is scheduled to launch on May 27, 2026.

It will be available next week on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). Nintendo fans won’t be completely left out in the cold, either; a version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is officially slated to follow later this summer.

TechMash Tip: Pre-orders are live right now. If you secure your copy before May 27th, you will receive a free automatic upgrade to the Deluxe Edition. This grants you a 24-hour Early Access head start, alongside exclusive in-game skins and outfits.

With an original theme song produced by long-time Bond composer David Arnold and a stunning graphical presentation featuring fully dynamic global illumination, IO Interactive looks poised to deliver the definitive Bond experience we’ve been waiting for over a decade.

The annual Warhammer Skulls Showcase never fails to deliver the grimdark goods, but this year’s event has officially sent retro shooter fans into overdrive. Developers Auroch Digital and publishers Big Fan Games (a boutique label under Devolver Digital) stole the show by dropping a blood-soaked new trailer and a surprise debut playable demo for the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2.

The headline news from the showcase isn’t just that the game looks spectacular; it’s that you won’t be fighting the hordes of Chaos alone this time. • The Supes Take Over: The Boys Collide with Call of Duty: Mobile Season 5 — Revenge

The Supes Take Over: The Boys Collide with Call of Duty: Mobile Season 5 — Revenge

Lock and load, mobile gamers. If you thought the battlefields of Call of Duty: Mobile were already intense, things are about to get downright diabolical.

Timed perfectly with the final season of the hit show, Call of Duty: Mobile Season 5 — Revenge officially launches on May 27 at 5 PM PT. Activision is dropping a massive, superpowered collaboration with The Boys, bringing Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir straight to your fingertips.

Here is everything you need to know about the chaos dropping next week.

Diabolical New Game Modes: Temp V and Infected Supes

This isn’t just a simple skin drop; the Supes are fundamentally altering how the game is played with two brand-new, limited-time modes.

    • Supe’d Up Attack of the Undead (Multiplayer): A chaotic twist on the fan-favourite mode. Operators are automatically assigned as either Homelander, Starlight, or Black Noir. If you are the final human survivor, you unlock incredible, character-specific powers:
      • Starlight: Emits a massive shockwave that severely slows down incoming zombies.
      • Black Noir: Wields a deadly katana, gaining massive speed boosts with every slash.
      • Homelander: Literally hovers above the ground and fries the undead horde with his signature laser eyes (just keep an eye on that overheat meter!).
    • Vought Royale (Battle Royale): Dropping onto the Isolated map? Keep your eyes peeled for doses of Temp V. Popping one will grant you one of four random superpowers to turn the tide of a gunfight: Laser Vision, Electric Shockwave (which disables vehicles and equipment), Charge Jump (complete with radius landing damage), or Blink (instant teleportation).

Choose Your Faction: The Boys vs. The Seven

Launch day also kicks off an exclusive faction-based themed event. Players will have to make a choice: align with The Boys or stand with the Dawn of the Seven.

By competing for your chosen side, you can earn over a dozen Epic rarity rewards. Highlights include the Boys-themed Weapon Blueprints and the highly coveted Manta Ray – Maritime Marauder skin.

Store Update: Three Operator Draws & A Mythic Titan

To celebrate the crossover, three character-specific Lucky Draws will debut throughout the season. Each features either Homelander, Starlight, or Black Noir alongside a Legendary Weapon Blueprint that boasts custom inspection animations and reactive kill-count elements that evolve as you rack up a body count.

If superheroes aren’t your vibe, the store is also introducing the long-awaited Mythic Kui Ji — Viridescent Oath drop. The notorious DMZ Recon boss from Serpent Island returns, reimagined with spiked armour and spectral energy.

Battle Pass & More: The BAL-27 Arrives

Beyond the Vought International takeover, Season 5 brings plenty of classic military firepower.

The Armoured Royale mode is bound to be a highlight for Battle Royale fans. Every squad drops with their own personal armored vehicle. It serves as your primary heavy weapon, your shield, and—most importantly—your team’s respawn point. Lose the truck, lose your safety net.

  • Suffer Not the Alien to Live: Frontier and Complex Games Announce Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch

Suffer Not the Alien to Live: Frontier and Complex Games Announce Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch

Strategy fans and Grimdark devotees, rejoice. Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV) and Winnipeg-based developer Complex Games, in partnership with Games Workshop, have officially pulled back the curtain on Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch.

Serving as a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed 2022 turn-based tactical RPG Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, this next chapter shifts the focus from the Grey Knights to the Imperium’s ultimate Xenos hunters: the elite Deathwatch.

The title is officially headed to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

    Welcome to the Long Vigil

In Chaos Gate – Deathwatch, players will step into the boots of newly sanctioned Inquisitor Interrogator Bastian Rath. Thrust into command amidst an unfolding conspiracy in the Tyrian expanse, you are tasked with defending worlds under siege, gathering crucial intelligence, and upgrading your Inquisitorial Fortress.

While Daemonhunters pitted you strictly against the plagues of Nurgle, Deathwatch blows the doors wide open. Players will have to wage war against seven distinct enemy factions, demanding flexible tactics to survive encounters with everything from insidious Xenos to the corrupting forces of Chaos.

    Deeper Tactics, Broader Customisation

Complex Games is building directly on the foundation that made Daemonhunters a hit, introducing several major gameplay upgrades:

    • Nine Playable Classes: Build the ultimate squad by combining elite Deathwatch battle brothers—drawn from various Space Marine chapters—with fanatical Inquisitorial agents and courageous Astra Militarum forces.
    • Massive Squad Customisation: Mix and match unique roles, abilities, chapter heraldry, and iconic wargear to tailor your Kill Team to your exact playstyle.
    • Heavy Armour & Vehicles: For the first time, commanders can deploy devastating vehicles onto the battlefield, including the towering Redemptor Dreadnought, the agile Scout Sentinel, and the iconic Leman Russ tank.
    • Environmental Warfare: Destruction is a tool. Players can trigger environmental hazards and shatter enemy cover to turn the tide of battle.

Test Your Might in Skirmish Mode

For players who want to bypass the galactic narrative and dive straight into the action, the game introduces a highly anticipated Skirmish Mode. This standalone feature allows you to fully configure your Kill Team, test out experimental squad compositions, and take on specific enemy factions in completely customisable battles.

“Every detail has been crafted to bring to life the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. Armour, Chapter heraldry, wargear, insignias and battle-scarred environments reflect the history and brutality of eternal war.” — Complex Games / Frontier Developments

    When Can We Play It?

While Frontier has yet to stamp a concrete release date on the project, the announcement trailer is officially live, and the game is already available to wishlist on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.

If you loved the punishing, rewarding tactical layer of the first game, Deathwatch looks poised to deliver an even grander, more brutal tour of duty in the 41st millennium.

  • Grab Your Power Washers (and Chainsaws): Kaiju Cleanup Shows Off Co-op Gameplay

Grab Your Power Washers (and Chainsaws): Kaiju Cleanup Shows Off Co-op Gameplay

What happens after a towering, city-levelling titan gets absolutely domed by a military railgun? Ultraman and Godzilla don’t stick around with a broom and dustpan, that’s for sure. No, the real heroism falls to the local sanitation department.

Enter Kaiju Cleanup, the highly anticipated first-person simulation game developed by Brightrock Games and published by Mythwright. Fresh out of the Six One Indie Showcase, a brand-new gameplay trailer has dropped, giving us our first look at the chaotic, gory, and oddly therapeutic world of post-monster disaster management—now with 1-4 player co-op.

Check out the gameplay breakdown below to see what it takes to clean up after a titan-sized tantrum.

    The Ultimate Post-Disaster Job Sim

If you’ve ever played Viscera Cleanup Detail or PowerWash Simulator and thought, “This is great, but it needs 100% more irradiated giant monster organs,” then Kaiju Cleanup is tailor-made for you.

The game tasks players with heading into the devastated city streets in the immediate aftermath of epic monster brawls. Your objective? Scrub away the toxic waste, manage property damage, and figure out exactly what to do with a rotting carcass the size of a skyscraper.

    Key Gameplay Features:

    • Massive Scale Carcass Carving: You aren’t just bagging trash. You’ll be using heavy machinery and power tools (yes, including chainsaws) to slice up giant alien titans, harvest rare organs, and haul away tonnes of bone and meat.
    • Hazardous Environments: The monsters might be dead, but they are far from harmless. You’ll have to dodge pocket radiation, seeping acidic fluids, and highly volatile, explosive organs that could take out a city block if handled poorly.
    • Die, Clone, Repeat: Workplace safety isn’t exactly a priority here. If you accidentally dissolve in a pool of stomach acid or get blown sky-high by a reactive monster gland, don’t sweat it. The company will simply deploy your next clone. Just make sure to mop up your previous corpse before getting back to work.
    • Upgradable Gear: Earn cash from successful cleanups to upgrade your tools, buy better protective gear, and unlock heavy machinery to make the grim task just a little bit smoother.

    Better Together: 1-4 Player Co-op

While tackling a toxic, building-sized carcass solo sounds like a peaceful (if deeply disturbing) weekend activity, Kaiju Cleanup truly shines with its co-op implementation.

The latest trailer highlights how a squad of four players can coordinate—or completely derail—a cleanup operation. You can have one teammate operating heavy cranes to lift massive limbs, another handling the power washer to scrub toxic sludge off the pavement, and a third frantically trying to extract a glowing, unstable organ before it detonates.

Of course, with friendly fire and giant physics-based meat chunks everywhere, expect plenty of accidental clone deaths courtesy of your friends.

When Can We Get To Scrubbing?

While Kaiju Cleanup doesn’t have a definitive release date locked in just yet, it is officially listed as “Coming Soon” on Steam. Given Brightrock Games’ pedigree for quirky, management-heavy titles, this is shaping up to be one of the most uniquely entertaining indie co-op games on the horizon.

Head over to Steam now to add Kaiju Cleanup to your wishlist, call up your squad, and start prepping your hazmat suits.

TechMash Verdict: A brilliant, messy twist on the simulation genre that turns the most epic anime tropes into a hilariously stressful corporate gig. We can’t wait to accidentally blow up our friends with a giant alien appendix.

  • Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games have officially launched Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II.

Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games have officially launched Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II.

Strategy fans and cybernetic worshippers, rejoice. Nearly eight years after the original game took the tactical world by storm, Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games have officially launched Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II.

Dropping right in the middle of the Warhammer Skulls festival celebrations, this highly anticipated sequel is available right now for Windows PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S. If you loved the atmospheric, cog-spinning tension of the first game, you are going to want to clear your schedule for this one.

The Machine vs. The Immortal: Two Playable Campaigns

The biggest upgrade in Mechanicus II is that you are no longer confined to just the perspective of the cybernetic Adeptus Mechanicus. As war erupts across the mysterious world of Hekateus IV, players can dive into two fully fleshed-out narrative campaigns, fighting from both sides of a brutal technological war.

    • The Adeptus Mechanicus: Command the orthodox voice of the Omnissiah, featuring the return of fan-favourite leader Lector-Dogmatis Videx. Bring the cold, calculated fury of the Imperium’s tech-priests to bear.
    • The Necrons: For the first time, take control of the awakening Necron dynasties. Command the ancient, undying legions under leaders like Obasis—known as ‘The Shield’—as you fight for the resurgence of your empire.

Adding even more tension to the narrative, the Leagues of Votann enter the fray as a third-party force. While not directly playable, this faction will be pulling strings behind the scenes, creating a much more volatile and unpredictable planetary war.

    Fresh Mechanics and Dynamic Environments

Mechanicus II isn’t just a visual upgrade; it completely overhauls how you interact with the battlefield. Faction identity heavily influences your tactical options, especially when it comes to the environment:

Play to Your Strengths: If you’re playing as the Adeptus Mechanicus, you’ll need to carefully maneuver your forces and utilize the terrain for cover. Playing as the Necrons? You don’t need cover—you can simply destroy the environment to flush out your enemies.

Combined with a more dynamic narrative system where your strategic choices carry severe consequences across the campaign, every battle feels like a high-stakes chess match of cold metal hatred.

    Soundscapes of the Far Future

You can’t talk about Mechanicus without talking about the music. The first game’s soundtrack is legendary in the gaming community for its hauntingly brilliant mix of church organs, heavy bass, and industrial synth.

Thankfully, composer Guillaume David returns for the sequel, delivering 10 brand-new atmospheric tracks. If you pick up the Omnissiah Edition (£34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99), you’ll get the base game, a digital artbook, the new soundtrack, and an in-game legacy soundtrack DLC that lets you roll back the audio to the original game’s tunes.

    Available Now

Whether you are a PC purist or playing on next-gen consoles, the grim darkness of the far future has never looked—or sounded—this good.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is available to download today on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Grab your plasma weapons, awaken your tomb worlds, and let us know in the comments which faction you’ll be conquering Hekateus IV with first!
