Good news for fans of cosy sims and tactical deckbuilders: Timberline Studio has officially locked in a new release date for their highly anticipated project, Beastro. While we were originally expecting to dig in this May, the studio has announced that the game will now launch on June 11, 2026.
The Los Angeles-based developer (best known for The Red Lantern) shared that the brief three-week delay from the original May 21 date is all about quality. In a move that’s becoming a refreshing standard for indie devs, the team is taking the extra time to add some “extra garnishes” and iron out any remaining bugs to ensure the experience is as polished as possible on launch day.
What is Beastro?
If you haven’t been following this one, Beastro is a “cosy/crunchy” hybrid that blends life simulation with strategic combat. You play as Panko, an anthropomorphic caracal cat who finds himself running a village eatery after his mentor mysteriously vanishes.
The gameplay loop is where things get really interesting:
- Town-to-Table: You’ll spend your days gathering ingredients, farming, fishing, and managing resources in the vibrant village of Palo Pori.
- WarioWare-style Cooking: Preparing meals involves snappy, engaging minigames.
- Cooking as Combat: The meals you serve to the “Caretakers” (the heroes defending the town) actually become their decks. The flavours and quality of your dishes determine the abilities they take into battle.
- Puppet Theatre Battles: The combat itself is presented in a charming, Paper Mario-esque puppet theatre style, where your culinary choices play out in turn-based strategy.

The wait won’t be much longer. When June 11 rolls around, you’ll be able to find Beastro on the following platforms:
