  • Ready, Set, Action! Stuntman: Hollywood Revives the Classic Action-Racer at Sony’s State of Play

Ready, Set, Action! Stuntman: Hollywood Revives the Classic Action-Racer at Sony’s State of Play

Gaming nostalgia just hit top speed. After nearly two decades away from the director’s chair, one of the most unique, frustratingly addictive, and spectacular racing franchises is officially making a comeback.

During Sony’s highly anticipated June 2026 State of Play showcase, publisher and developer Saber Interactive dropped a massive bombshell: they are collaborating with Universal Products & Experiences to bring us Stuntman: Hollywood!

Currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, this brand-new single-player action-racing game is the modern evolution of the cult-classic series we’ve been waiting for since 2007.

    Lights, Camera, Chaos!

If you played the original Stuntman games, you already know the drill: precision, timing, and an absolute disregard for your vehicle’s paint job. Stuntman: Hollywood takes that classic, high-octane formula and injects it with a massive dose of modern Hollywood blockbuster energy.

Instead of just racing to a finish line, you are an up-and-coming stunt performer trying to nail the perfect take. You’ll be chaining together jumps, drifts, and jaw-dropping near-misses while massive set pieces explode around you.

According to Saber Interactive’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits:

“The classic Stuntman game was so memorable for me, it’s always been a dream to recreate such a legend of gaming history, and evolve it into something new. At Saber, we love working with classic IPs, and we’re excited to team up again with Universal to bring back a true adrenaline rush for fans.”

    Drive the Ultimate Hollywood Icons

Because of the massive partnership with Universal, you won’t just be driving generic sports cars. You are stepping straight onto the sets of some of the biggest film and TV franchises in history.

Saber has confirmed that players will get behind the wheel of legendary vehicles to pull off iconic, movie-accurate stunts. The confirmed lineup of featured blockbusters includes:

    • Fast & Furious
    • Back to the Future (Yes, you get to drive the Time Machine!)
    • Knight Rider (Get ready to pilot K.I.T.T.)
    • Miami Vice
    • Death Race

From roaring muscle cars and sleek supercars to nimble motorcycles and—believe it or not—a school bus, the variety of vehicles is built to test your driving mastery to the absolute limit.

How It Works: The Path to Stunt Legend

The game balances the high-pressure demands of a film director with the freedom to show off your own flair. Here is what we know about the gameplay loops so far:

    • The Director’s Cut: Every movie is split into episodic levels. The director will give you precise objectives—like riding on two wheels, dodging incoming fire, or hitting a ramp at an exact speed. Miss too many marks, or run out of time, and you’ll hear the dreaded “Cut!”
    • Free Stunts: Want to show off? The game encourages you to take extra risks by skimming past flamethrowers or threading the needle between explosions to boost your star rating.
    • The Star System: Your performance is graded on a star system. The better you run, the more stars you earn, allowing you to unlock higher-tier movies, tougher challenges, and cooler gear.
    • The Garage: A dedicated hub that acts as a physical trophy room for your career. As you progress, your garage will fill up with the legendary cars you’ve driven, trophies, and memorabilia from your blockbuster shoots.

    When Can We Play?

While Saber Interactive didn’t give us an exact release date during the State of Play, the game is officially available to wishlist right now on the PlayStation Store, Xbox TrueAchievements, and Steam.

With games like Burnout and Split/Second cited as heavy gameplay inspirations alongside the original franchise, Stuntman: Hollywood looks poised to be the ultimate adrenaline rush for arcade racing fans.

Hit the comments below and let us know: Which movie set are you tackling first?

  • All Aboard: Why Bus Bound is the Next Stop for Simulation Fans

All Aboard: Why Bus Bound is the Next Stop for Simulation Fans

If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in traffic thinking, “I could run this transit system better,” your time has finally come. Released on April 30, 2026, Bus Bound is the latest offering from the veterans at stillalive studios—the team behind the hit Bus Simulator series—and publisher Saber Interactive.

Available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Bus Bound isn’t just about sticking to a timetable; it’s about transforming a city through the power of public transport.

    More Than Just a Commute

Set in the fictional American city of Emmerville, Bus Bound shifts the gears of the traditional simulator. Instead of focusing solely on ticket sales and cold hard cash, the game introduces a unique “Goodwill” and “Likes” system. Your success is measured by the happiness of your passengers.

Drive smoothly, arrive on time, and use your blinkers, and you’ll earn the community’s favour. This “social currency” is what allows you to:

    • Upgrade Stops: Turn a lonely bench into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly transit hub.
    • Revitalise Districts: Watch as neighbourhoods evolve from sleepy suburbs into bustling, eco-friendly urban spaces as your transit network improves.
    • Expand Your Fleet: Unlock over a dozen officially licensed American icons.

    The Fleet: American Icons

For the gearheads, Bus Bound delivers high-fidelity recreations of some of the most recognisable buses on US roads. At launch, you can get behind the wheel of:

    • New Flyer Xcelsior 40ft CNG
    • Blue Bird Sigma
    • Horizon Hydrogen 40ft Gen2 (and more!)

The game runs on Unreal Engine 5, meaning the lighting on your windshield during a dynamic rainstorm or the glow of the dashboard during the day/night cycle looks better than ever.

Multiplayer: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

One of the standout features is the 4-player online co-op. You and three friends can tackle the city’s routes simultaneously. While one player manages the busy downtown intersections, another can be servicing the quiet residential outskirts. It’s a collaborative effort to improve the host’s city, making the grind feel like a genuine team operation.

    A Streamlined Experience

Stillalive Studios has clearly listened to feedback from previous titles. Bus Bound is designed to be more accessible, stripping away some of the “soul-crushing” menial tasks to focus on the joy of driving and city-building. While hardcore purists might miss the granular management of every penny, the “Utopian” feel of building a better world makes for a surprisingly relaxing and rewarding gameplay loop.

TechMash Verdict: Bus Bound is a polished, feel-good simulator that proves public transport doesn’t have to be a chore. Whether you’re a veteran driver or a newcomer looking for a “cozy” sim, it’s well worth the fare.

    Pricing: * Standard Edition: £24.99 / $29.99

    • Deluxe Edition: £34.99 / $39.99 (Includes the Horizon Speed 40ft bus and the 2026 Bus Pass for three upcoming expansions).

Are you ready to take the wheel, or do you prefer the view from the passenger seat? Let us know in the comments!

  • Bus Bound: The Everyday Hero Rescuing Your Commute

Bus Bound: The Everyday Hero Rescuing Your Commute

We’ve all been there. You’re standing at a rain-slicked bus stop in the middle of a Tuesday, squinting at a digital display that’s been saying “3 mins” for the last fifteen minutes. In the world of urban transit, hope is a fragile thing—until you open Bus Bound.

At TechMash, we see plenty of apps that claim to “disrupt” industries, but rarely do we find one that simply wants to make your morning coffee stay in your mug instead of spilling as you sprint for a bus that’s already gone. Bus Bound isn’t just an app; it’s the digital sidekick every commuter deserves.

    Why It’s a Game Changer

The magic of Bus Bound lies in its Real-Time Precision. While many transit apps rely on scheduled data (which is essentially “polite fiction”), Bus Bound taps directly into live GPS telemetry.

    • Live Map Tracking: See exactly where your bus is on the route. No more guessing if it’s stuck behind a bin lorry or lost in a temporal rift.
    • Crowd-Sourced Insights: Users can report if a bus is full, or if the air conditioning is actually working (vital for those three days of British summer).
    • The “Run!” Notification: One of our favourite features. Based on your walking speed and the bus’s actual velocity, the app sends a nudge telling you exactly when to leave your front door.

Under the Hood: How it Works

Bus Bound utilises a sophisticated blend of GTFS-Realtime data and predictive algorithms. By analysing historical traffic patterns on specific London or regional corridors, it adjusts its ETAs to account for “the usual” congestion.

    Design for the Real World

The UI is where Bus Bound truly wins. It’s built for the “One-Handed Commuter”—the person holding an umbrella, a bag, or a child while trying to navigate. Large tap targets, high-contrast text for sunny days, and a “favourite routes” widget that lives on your lock screen make it incredibly frictionless.

“The best technology is the kind that fades into the background of your life, only appearing when it has something truly useful to say.”

    The TechMash Verdict

Is it revolutionary? In the sense that it uses existing data, perhaps not. But in its execution, it is a masterclass. It takes the anxiety out of the “Everyday Hero” journey—the commute to work, the school run, or the trip to see friends.

If you’re tired of playing “Bus Stop Roulette,” Bus Bound is the download of the week. It’s free, it’s fast, and it might just save you from a damp wait in the drizzle.

    Rating: 4.5/5 Blue Plaques

Check out Bus Bound on the iOS App Store and Google Play today.

  • RoadCraft: Reclaim Expansion — Tear It Down to Build It Up

RoadCraft: Reclaim Expansion — Tear It Down to Build It Up

If you thought RoadCraft was just about laying tarmac and fixing bridges, think again. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have just dropped the Reclaim Expansion, and it’s shifting the gears of the disaster-recovery sim into something much more destructive—and satisfying.

Released on March 24, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, this second major DLC doesn’t just give you more of the same. It introduces a brand-new philosophy: Demolition.

    Sometimes, Progress Requires Destruction

The core of the Reclaim Expansion is the shift from “Repair” to “Reclaim.” For the first time, you aren’t just a construction worker; you’re a salvage specialist. The expansion introduces Demolition and Salvage gameplay, allowing you to dismantle unstable or obsolete structures to harvest resources.

This isn’t just cosmetic. Every building you tear down provides materials that feed directly into your supply chain, giving you a more sandbox, “figure-it-out-yourself” approach to overcoming disaster zones.

New Regions: From the Black Forest to the Sahel
The expansion adds two massive 4km² maps, each offering a starkly different challenge:

Autumn Collapse: Set in a Central European region inspired by Germany’s Black Forest. After violent storms, you’ll be navigating steep valleys and mud-slicked forests to reach abandoned industrial sites cut off by landslides.

Summer Drought: Inspired by the North African Sahel. Here, the challenge is heat and scarcity. You’ll need to dismantle old, useless infrastructure and secure water access to help the region survive an extreme climate crisis.

    The New Heavy Hitters

You can’t take down a skyscraper with a pickup truck. Reclaim brings seven new vehicles to your garage, including some of the most specialised machinery we’ve seen in the game yet.

    Why It Matters

With the Reclaim Expansion, RoadCraft is leaning into its “next-gen physics sandbox” roots. The addition of Ghost Buildings—a new feature allowing you to plan and visualise structures before committing resources—is a huge quality-of-life win for players who love the logistical side of the game.

Whether you’re clearing a path through the mud of the Black Forest or salvaging scrap metal in the desert, the Reclaim Expansion adds a much-needed layer of tactical freedom.

The RoadCraft Reclaim Expansion is available now for £12.99 ($14.99) or as part of the Year 1 Pass and the new 1st Anniversary Edition.

  • The Ultimate ’80s Fever Dream: Why We’re Hyped for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando

The Ultimate ’80s Fever Dream: Why We’re Hyped for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando

If you’ve ever found yourself watching Big Trouble in Little China and thinking, “I wish I could play this, but with more gore and a fleet of monster trucks,” then Saber Interactive has heard your oddly specific prayers.

Revealed as a love letter to the golden era of action-horror, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is shaping up to be the most unapologetically loud shooter of the year. Here’s everything we know about this slime-drenched coop romp.

    1. The Vibe: Pure Carpenter Chaos
While the legendary John Carpenter isn’t coding the game himself, his DNA is baked into the premise. We’re talking about an over-the-top, neon-soaked aesthetic paired with a synth-heavy soundtrack that feels like it was ripped straight out of 1984.

The plot is delightfully B-movie: an attempt to harness power from the Earth’s core goes south, accidentally releasing the Sludge King. Now, the world is turning into a mutant-infested wasteland, and only a group of “Commandos” (who are essentially hired guns with zero survival instinct) can plug the hole.

    1. Gameplay: Swarms and Steel
Built on the Swarm Engine—the same tech that powered the terrifyingly dense zombie waves in World War Z—this game focuses on scale. You aren’t just fighting five or six mutants; you’re fighting hundreds.

Class-Based Action: Choose from various roles that suit your playstyle, whether you prefer being the tank or the glass-cannon DPS.

Vehicular Mayhem: Unlike Left 4 Dead, you aren’t just on foot. Massive, armoured vehicles play a huge role in navigation and thinning out the herds.

The “Goo” Factor: The environment is reactive. Expect a lot of environmental hazards involving toxic sludge and explosive barrels.

    1. Why It Stands Out
In an era of “Live Service” fatigue and hyper-realistic military shooters, Toxic Commando feels like a breath of fresh, albeit chemically contaminated, air. It doesn’t want to be a second job; it wants to be a high-octane weekend with three friends and a lot of spent brass.

“It’s a classic ‘more is more’ approach. More bullets, more slime, and more 80s cheese.”

    The Verdict (So Far)

If Saber Interactive can nail the gunplay as well as they’ve nailed the atmosphere, Toxic Commando could be the sleeper hit of the season. It’s loud, it’s gross, and it’s got the seal of approval from the Master of Horror himself.

Stay tuned to TechMash for more updates as we get closer to the Sludge King’s arrival.

  • The Machine God Arrives: Space Marine 2 Techmarine Update is Live!

The Machine God Arrives: Space Marine 2 Techmarine Update is Live!

The prayers to the Omnissiah have finally been answered. Saber Interactive has officially deployed Patch 12.0 for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, bringing with it the most significant gameplay shift since launch: the Techmarine class.

Whether you’re a lore-hound who lives for the Cult of Mars or just someone who wants to let a turret do the heavy lifting while you swing a massive axe, this update is a game-changer. Here is everything you need to know about the Techmarine Update.

    New Class: The Techmarine

The Techmarine joins the roster as the seventh playable class, and he isn’t just a “support” unit. This is a master of area denial and crowd control, designed to hold the line when the Tyranid swarms get too thick.

Ultimate Ability: Servo-Gun: Bolted directly to your Power Pack, this automated weapon acts as a third arm. When activated, it locks onto targets in your line of sight, providing continuous fire while you focus on melee or secondary objectives.

The Omnissian Axe: An exclusive new melee weapon for the Techmarine. It’s built for wide, sweeping strikes, making it perfect for carving through gaunts.

Sentry Interactions: In a brilliant lore-friendly touch, Techmarines can locate and “re-awaken” Tarantula Sentry Turrets found throughout PvE maps, restoring their ammo and keeping the defence alive.

Pro Tip: In PvP (Eternal War), the Techmarine takes on the mantle of the Red Corsair Warpsmith. Same mechanics, way more spikes.

    New PvE Mission: “Disruption”

Think you’ve mastered the Hive City of Avarax? Think again. The update introduces a brand-new Operation titled Disruption.

Squad Veridian is tasked with reinforcing Cadian defences against a massive Tyranid swarm, but things take a turn for the Warp when the Thousand Sons show up to profane a local cathedral. Expect verticality, heavy firelanes, and plenty of opportunities to test out that new Servo-Gun.

    Cosmetics: Raven Guard and Carcharodons

For the fashion-forward Astartes, Season Pass 2 owners are getting a massive injection of drip:

Raven Guard Champion Pack: A stunning full-body skin for the Assault class, dripping with avian skulls and feathers.

Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack: Finally, the “Space Sharks” get their due. This pack includes thematic pauldrons and helmets featuring the brutal, tribal aesthetic of the Space Marines’ most terrifying nomadic chapter.

Voice Pack 1: You can now swap your character’s voice to match specific chapters like the Blood Angels, Space Wolves, or Black Templars, with over 1,300 new lines.

    Key Quality of Life Changes

Saber didn’t just stop at the new class. Patch 12.0 includes several “fan-requested” fixes:

Head Swapping: Faces are no longer class-locked! You can finally put your favourite scarred veteran’s head on any class.

Restorative Stimms: A new PvE item that provides health over time, encouraging a slightly more aggressive “front-line” playstyle.

Balance Tweaks: The “Volatile Sentry” perk received a massive buff (from 40% to 1000% damage), making the Techmarine’s turrets feel like actual instruments of the Emperor’s wrath rather than pea-shooters.

The Techmarine Update is available now as a free download for all players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s time to grab your axe, chant the Litany of Ignition, and show the enemies of Mankind that the machine is strong.

  • John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando demo can be played now on Steam

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando demo can be played now on Steam

If you’re the type of person who thinks the only thing missing from a zombie outbreak is a high-octane soundtrack and a massive off-road truck, then John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is likely already on your radar.

Announced as a collaboration between the “Master of Horror” himself and the developers at Saber Interactive, this game looks like a fever dream birthed in a 1980s VHS store. Here’s everything we know about this upcoming co-op slaughterfest.

The Vibe: ’80s Horror Meets Modern Mayhem

John Carpenter isn’t just a name slapped on the box for branding. The game leans heavily into his signature aesthetic: gritty atmosphere, synth-heavy beats, and a touch of campy “tough guy” energy. It feels less like a survival horror game where you’re counting every bullet and more like an over-the-top action flick where the bullets are endless, and the explosions are cinematic.

    The Plot (In a Nutshell)

    • The Problem: An experimental attempt to harness the Earth’s core went horribly wrong, awakening the Sludge King.
    • The Result: The soil is mutated, the dead are rising, and the world is turning into a literal toxic wasteland.
    • The Solution: You and your friends play as “Commandos”—mercenaries hired to drive into the heart of the chaos and close the breach.

    Gameplay: Mud, Blood, and Gears

Saber Interactive is leveraging its experience from World War Z and SnowRunner, which is a fascinating combination.

    Why We’re Excited

Most modern shooters try to be “gritty” and “realistic.” Toxic Commando is doing the opposite. It’s embracing the neon-soaked, over-the-top violence of the 80s.

“I’m a fan of video games, and I’m a fan of horror,” Carpenter said regarding the project. And it shows. The trailers emphasize the fun factor—blasting monsters while Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” blares in the background.

It’s a game that knows exactly what it is: a loud, bloody, high-speed romp through a supernatural apocalypse.

    Final Thoughts

While we’re still waiting for a definitive release date in 2025/2026, the pedigree behind the project is promising. If Saber can nail the driving mechanics as well as they did the shooting, this could be the premier co-op experience for horror fans.

  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance – Next-Gen Update

Kingdom Come: Deliverance – Next-Gen Update

Whether you’re a veteran of the Bohemian wilds or a fresh-faced Henry just learning which end of the sword to hold, the news we’ve all been waiting for is finally here.

Warhorse Studios just “shadow-dropped” the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Next-Gen Update (Patch 1.9.7). Released on February 13, 2026, this update finally brings the 2018 cult classic up to speed with modern hardware. If you’ve been struggling with the 30 FPS cap on consoles, your patience has officially been rewarded.

    What’s in the Update?

This isn’t just a simple patch; it’s a native overhaul for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here is the breakdown of the technical “glow-up” Henry just received:

    1. The 60 FPS Holy Grail

The most significant change is the jump from 30 FPS to up to 60 FPS. The game now utilises the extra horsepower of current-gen consoles to ensure that combat—which is already famously “weighty”—feels significantly smoother and more responsive.

    2. 4K Visuals & “Ultra” Settings

Warhorse has essentially ported the PC “Ultra Quality” settings over to consoles.

    • Resolution: Native rendering at 1440p, upscaled to a crisp 4K.
    • HD Textures: High-resolution assets for clothing, foliage, and stone walls.
    • Improved Draw Distance: Reduced pop-in for trees and NPCs when galloping through the countryside.

    3. Quality of Life & New Content

    • Cross-Gen Save Transfer: You can seamlessly move your PS4/Xbox One progress to the new native versions.
    • New Languages: Official Czech and Japanese voice-overs have been added, alongside improved localisation for several other languages.
    • Free Rewards: Linking a Deep Silver account now grants you a unique horse caparison (barding) once you finish the prologue.

    How Much Does It Cost?

The best part? It’s free. If you already own Kingdom Come: Deliverance on PS4 or Xbox One, you can download the native next-gen version at no extra cost.

For newcomers, the Royal Edition (which includes all DLCs) has been seeing massive discounts on digital storefronts recently—sometimes as low as $7.99—making it the perfect time to experience the story before jumping into the sequel.

    Why Now?

This update arrives as Warhorse celebrates a massive milestone: the original game has officially surpassed 10 million copies sold. It also serves as a perfect bridge for fans who have spent the last year playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (released in early 2025) and want to revisit Henry’s humble beginnings without the “graphical shock” of 8th-gen tech.

“Henry’s journey has never looked—or performed—better. It’s the definitive way to experience one of the most immersive RPGs ever made.”

Are you planning a return to Bohemia, or is this your first time picking up a mace? Let me know your favourite Henry-ism in the comments!

  • Yeah, We’re Thinking He’s Back: Lionsgate and Saber Interactive Reveal AAA John Wick Game

Yeah, We’re Thinking He’s Back: Lionsgate and Saber Interactive Reveal AAA John Wick Game

The High Table has issued a new directive, and this time, the target is your console. During the February 2026 Sony State of Play, Lionsgate and Saber Interactive officially pulled back the curtain on the project fans have been demanding for years: a high-budget, AAA John Wick video game.

While the franchise has dipped its toes into the digital world before with the VR title Chronicles and the tactical John Wick Hex, this marks the first time the “Baba Yaga” will be getting a full-scale, third-person action experience designed to mirror the cinematic intensity of the billion-dollar film series.

    What We Know So Far

The announcement came with a slick reveal trailer that confirmed several key details that should make any action fan breathe a sigh of relief:

    • Keanu Is In: This isn’t just a licensed skin. Keanu Reeves is officially reprising his role, providing both his likeness and voice to ensure the game feels like a true extension of the films.
    • A Prequel Story: The game features an original narrative set years before the “Impossible Task.” It promises to explore John’s prime, introducing familiar faces alongside brand-new characters created specifically for the game.
    • The Dream Team: Saber Interactive—the studio fresh off the massive success of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2—is leading development. Even better? Franchise visionary Chad Stahelski is collaborating closely on the project to nail the “gun-fu” choreography.

    Mastering the Art of Gun-Fu

Saber Interactive isn’t just making a standard shooter. The studio has emphasised that the combat system is being built from the ground up to replicate the unique rhythm of the movies.

“Our goal is to create a wholly immersive experience unlike any other… something that blurs the line between movies and video games.” — Jesus Iglesias, Game Director at Saber Interactive

    Key Gameplay Features:

    • Signature Gun-Fu: A seamless blend of close-quarters grappling and precision firearm play.
    • Cinematic Camerawork: Dynamic angles designed to mimic the long takes and “neon-noir” aesthetic of the films.
    • Intense Driving: High-octane vehicle sequences that go beyond simple travel, likely incorporating the car-combat seen in Chapter 4.
    • Mature Tone: True to its roots, the game is being developed for mature audiences, promising the grit and brutality the series is known for.

    Release Details & Platforms

While we don’t have a confirmed release date yet, the project is officially in active development for the following platforms:

    • PlayStation 5
    • Xbox Series X|S
    • PC

You can already head over to your digital storefront of choice to add the “Untitled John Wick Game” to your wishlist.

    The Verdict

With the creative powerhouse of Saber Interactive at the helm and the direct involvement of Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves, this is shaping up to be the definitive John Wick experience. It’s not just a game; it’s an invitation to step into the well-tailored suit of the world’s most dangerous man.

Pre-order Docked on PC and consoles now

If you’re looking for a game that perfectly blends atmosphere with high-stakes tension, you need to keep Docked on your radar.

Developed by No-Brake, this indie title isn’t just another horror game—it’s a masterclass in “liminal space” dread. You play as a caretaker tasked with maintaining a massive, eerily silent sea dock. Your only job? Make sure the lights stay on.

    Why It’s Grabbing Everyone’s Attention:

The Sound Design: The creak of the metal and the distant roar of the ocean do more to unnerve you than any jump scare ever could.

The Aesthetic: It captures that low-fi, industrial gloom that feels both nostalgic and deeply claustrophobic.

The Mystery: What exactly is lurking under the waves, and why does the dock feel like it’s waiting for something?

The Verdict: It’s a short, punchy experience that proves you don’t need a massive budget to create a massive amount of anxiety. Perfect for a late-night session—if you don’t mind feeling a little uneasy the next time you’re near the water.

Imagine if Big Trouble in Little China had a baby with World War Z. The demo highlights Carpenter’s signature influence—think pulsing synth soundtracks, neon-drenched environments, and a healthy dose of “don’t take yourself too seriously” humour.

    The Gameplay: Mass Carnage

The Swarm Tech: Using the Swarm Engine (the same tech behind World War Z), the demo throws hundreds of “Sludge” mutants at you simultaneously. It’s chaotic, but incredibly satisfying to thin the herd.

The “Commando” Classes: You get a taste of different roles—from the heavy hitter to the medic—each with abilities that feel distinct but necessary for survival.

Vehicle Mayhem: This isn’t just a “boots on the ground” shooter. The demo features vehicle-based combat that feels heavy, crunchy, and surprisingly polished.

What’s Happening In SnowRunner Season 17

SnowRunner has officially kicked off its fifth year of content with the launch of Season 17: Repair & Rescue, released on January 27, 2026. This update takes players to the rugged landscapes of Western Asia, specifically the new region of Zurdania, shifting the focus toward reconstruction and sustainable development.

    Welcome to Zurdania

Season 17 introduces two sprawling 4km² maps: Zurdan Valley and Landslide Valley. Following a series of devastating weather events and crop failures, players are tasked with breathing life back into this mountainous region.

The mission set is diverse, moving beyond simple hauling to focus on:

Agricultural Rehabilitation: Improving soil fertility and introducing new farming techniques.

Infrastructure & Energy: Building a massive solar farm to ensure the region’s future sustainability.Heritage & Tourism: Renovating ancient historical monasteries and constructing a luxury hotel complex to attract visitors back to the peaks.

    New Off-Road Specialists

To tackle the muddy valleys and steep inclines of Zurdania, two new vehicles have been added to the roster:

    Voron G-5352 Heavy Duty

A multi-purpose workhorse capable of long-range supply missions and pulling medium trailers.

    Jangsu RX600Off-Road

An agile, fuel-efficient support specialist designed for light-to-medium cargo hauling in tight spots.

    New Gameplay Mechanic:

A significant addition in Season 17 is the Worksite mission type. Unlike standard contracts, Worksites are non-essential jobs that appear on the map to unlock valuable shortcuts.

How it works: Players must drive into a green “Worksite” zone to see the specific cargo requirements.

The Benefit: Completing these tasks restores road networks and bridges, making previously “impossible” routes accessible for the game’s largest 8-slot trailers.

    Availability

Season 17: Repair & Rescue is the first instalment of the Year 5 Pass. It is available now as a standalone purchase or as part of the pass on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Note: Owners of the Year 5 Pass also receive the exclusive Pathfinders Vinyl Wrap Pack, which includes new skins for the KHAN Lo4F, Azov 64131, KOLOB 74941, and ANK MK38.
