  • A Decade at the Holotable: Celebrating the STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes 10th Anniversary!

A Decade at the Holotable: Celebrating the STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes 10th Anniversary!

Can you believe it? Ten years ago, we were first invited to pull up a seat at the Cantina’s Holotable and begin our journey in STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes (SWGoH). A decade of collecting heroes, building formidable squads, and engaging in countless turn-based battles across the vast Star Wars universe! To mark this momentous milestone, Capital Games is launching the biggest foundational overhaul the game has ever seen, setting the stage for an exciting new era.

Here’s a look at what the 10th Anniversary has in store for every Holotable Hero!

Introducing the Era System: A Foundational Overhaul

The biggest news is the introduction of the Era System, a major shift that will reshape how players engage with new content and character progression. This is more than just a new coat of paint—it’s a brand-new way to play.

    What is an Era?

An Era represents a seasonal cycle of new content and characters. A standard Era will typically include:

    • Three Episodes: Sequential content releases within the Era.
    • Six Marquee Units: New characters introduced throughout the Episodes.
    • A Journey Guide Event: An associated unit that can be unlocked early at a lower star level.
    • New Game Mode: The Coliseum!

Era Isolation: The New Way to Progress

A key feature of the Era System is the Isolation of new content. For a set time, newly released Era Units will:

    • Only be usable in Era Modes, like the new Coliseum.
    • Use a completely separate set of Era resources for progression, isolated from the existing “Legacy” gear and materials.

This separation is designed to allow players—especially newer ones—to engage with the latest characters and content without disrupting their long-term farming goals on “Legacy” units. Once an Era ends, the characters transition to Legacy Units and can be geared up using the original materials.

Step into The Coliseum: A New Challenge Awaits

Unlocking at Player Level 10, The Coliseum is the first new game mode within the Era System. This mode pits individual players against formidable bosses from the Star Wars galaxy, with a daily rotation of challenging foes and the goal of achieving new high scores. It sounds like a fantastic new venue to test your growing squads and strategies!

    Progression Made Easier: Resource Updates

The anniversary update is also bringing welcome changes to existing progression systems, making it potentially easier to advance your roster:

    • Episode Track Updates: Relic 1-5 materials and Tier 1-3 Signal Data will replace some existing Gear Salvage Boxes on the free Episode Track milestones. This could significantly help with the perennial Signal Data bottleneck!
    • Raid Shipment Rework: The cost of key gear pieces like Electrium Conductors and Zinbiddle Cards is being adjusted, with some moving to the more accessible Mk II Raid Tokens, and lower-tier gear moving to Mk I Raid Tokens.
    • Lower Star Requirements for Relics: The number of stars required for certain Relic Amplifier Levels is being reduced:
      • Relic 4: Reduced from 6 Stars to 5 Stars.
      • Relic 5: Reduced from 7 Stars to 6 Stars.
      • Relic 6: Now requires 7 Stars for the first time.

A Huge Step Forward for SWGoH

The 10th Anniversary of STAR WARS: Galaxy of Heroes is not just a moment to look back on a decade of epic battles, but a giant leap forward with the introduction of the Era System. The sheer scale of this update—from a new mode like the Coliseum to the foundational changes in character and resource progression—proves that Capital Games is committed to ensuring the holotables remain a dynamic and engaging place for years to come.

Whether you’re a day-one player or a newcomer just unlocking your first squad, this is truly a fantastic time to be a part of the SWGoH community!

  • Eclipse Breaker: A JRPG-Inspired Roguelite That Never Was… Until Now!

Eclipse Breaker: A JRPG-Inspired Roguelite That Never Was… Until Now!

Get ready to load up a save file you never knew you had! Eclipse Breaker is crashing onto the scene, bringing a heavy dose of ’90s PlayStation-era JRPG flair and melding it with the relentless, addictive nature of a modern action roguelite. This isn’t just a nostalgic throwback; it’s a freshly developed, timing-driven challenge that asks you to master every parry, dodge, and counter.

    The Hook: Fast-Paced, Strategic Combat

At its heart, Eclipse Breaker is a strategic action roguelike. Forget button-mashing—your survival hinges on timing. The combat system is a beautiful blend of classic JRPG tactical depth and real-time action, where every second and every move counts.

    • Timing-Driven Action: Dodging, parrying, and perfectly timed counters are your bread and butter. It’s a dance of death where you must read the enemy’s attack patterns to survive.
    • Roguelite Power Builds: Every run through the procedurally generated dungeons is a chance to forge a new, unique build by collecting powerful divine powers. No two runs will ever play out the same way.
    • The Power of Allies: You’ll recruit Companion Spirits, the lingering souls of lost allies, each granting powerful abilities and adding narrative depth to your journey. Who you bring along drastically shapes your abilities and the story.

A ‘Remastered’ Classic… That Never Existed?

The developers at Lunar Workshop have cooked up a truly unique concept: presenting Eclipse Breaker as a “remaster” of a lost, forgotten JRPG from the late ’90s. The aesthetic is pitch-perfect, wrapping a sophisticated, modern action-roguelite game in the low-poly charm and vibrant style of the original PlayStation era. It’s a love letter to the games that inspired a generation, but built from scratch for today’s demanding audience.

The story follows Paladin Ember, returning to a world shrouded in darkness after a twenty-five-year absence. Hailed as myth, or blamed for the world’s state, she must now storm the Divine Realm repeatedly, confronting elemental gods and eventually facing a climactic showdown with the rogue sun-goddess, Solara, to finally break the cycle.

    Ready to Break the Cycle?

Eclipse Breaker has generated buzz with its initial demo releases and is a must-watch for fans of games like Hades, classic Final Fantasy, and any player who loves a deep, rewarding combat system.

This thrilling journey launches on PC via Steam on November 7, 2025. If you enjoy skill-based combat, deep character building, and a hefty dose of retro style, Eclipse Breaker is one to add to your wishlist right now!

  • Navigating the Cosmos for Profit: An Early Look at Stellar Trader

Navigating the Cosmos for Profit: An Early Look at Stellar Trader

The final frontier has always been a place for explorers and warriors, but in the upcoming Stellar Trader, it’s the merchants who truly hold the keys to the galaxy. Developed by ParaVerseLab and published by Spiral Up Games, this new sci-fi, strategy-sim is promising to put the “X” in eXploitation and eXchange, offering players a deep dive into interstellar commerce, politics, and power.

From Rustbucket to Riches: The Core Gameplay

At its heart, Stellar Trader is an ambitious space trading simulator set hundreds of years after humanity has taken to the stars. You start small—a “rustbucket” freighter—and the goal is simple: buy low, sell high, and work your way up to a colossal megaship.

This isn’t just about simple point-A-to-point-B trade runs, though. The galaxy features a living, breathing economy where you can:

    • Master Planetary Economies: Exploit regional shortages or even strategically stabilise entire systems through smart logistics.
    • Work the Black Market: Discover illicit opportunities for maximum profit, but with maximum risk.
    • Customise Your Fleet: Your trade vessels are fully customizable with crew, modules, and systems, allowing you to prepare for long-range jumps or fend off pirates.

More Than Just Cargo: The Strategic & Narrative Layers

What makes Stellar Trader stand out is its blend of economic strategy with broader galactic influence and personal narrative. You won’t just be a spreadsheet warrior; you’ll be a force in the galaxy:

    • Political Puppet Master: While you might not start wars, your wealth and control over supply lines allow you to shift political balances and tip the scales between rival powers. Form alliances, pull strings, and become a “Lord of War” through economic influence.
    • Build & Expand: Claim orbital space and construct your own space stations and colonies. Managing these supply chain hubs allows you to guide the development of worlds and further expand your reach.
    • Slice of Life Stories: The game promises a strong narrative layer with personal storylines, unforgettable characters, romance, and even puzzles to solve in ancient ruins. The galaxy is a canvas for your personal adventure, not just a marketplace.

Should You Get Ready to Trade?

If you’re a fan of space-faring games like Elite Dangerous or EVE Online but have always wished for a deeper, more focused tycoon and management experience, Stellar Trader is a game to watch. It truly seems to be aiming for the ultimate fantasy of a galactic merchant, where economic power is the ultimate weapon.

The blend of core trading mechanics with strategic 4X elements and character-driven narrative suggests a game with massive replayability and a focus on player freedom. Keep an eye on the stars—and the trade ticker—for this one!

What kind of freighter would you customise first: a heavily armoured transport or a nimble black market runner? Let us know in the comments!

  • Dark Deity 2: An Evolution in Tactical RPGs!

Dark Deity 2: An Evolution in Tactical RPGs!

The Legacy Continues, The Strategy Deepens

For fans of classic, grid-based tactical RPGs, the wait is over. Dark Deity 2 has arrived, and it’s a stellar evolution of everything that made the original indie hit so beloved. Developed by Sword & Axe LLC, this sequel takes the compelling character dynamics and strategic combat of its predecessor, refines the systems, and delivers an epic new chapter in the story of Verroa.

A New Generation of Heroes and Conflict

Set 25 years after the events of the first game, Dark Deity 2 throws players into a world on the brink. Irving and the Eternal Order have rebuilt the continent of Verroa, but a new threat—the expansionist Holy Asverellian Empire—is looming.

You take command of the Eternal Delegation, a band of 20 scrappy heroes-to-be led by Irving’s descendants, Gwyn and Riordian. This isn’t just a simple military campaign; the story features 30 chapters of fully voiced content where your decisions weave a complex web of political alliances and rivalries. Your choices regarding who to support and who to oppose can dramatically alter the narrative and the battles you face, making for a truly dynamic and replayable experience.

    Refined, Custom-Built Tactical Combat

The core of Dark Deity 2 remains its turn-based tactical combat, and the developers have listened to community feedback to streamline and deepen the gameplay.

    • Goodbye to Complex Weapon Trees: The four-weapon system of the original has been replaced by a more refined system featuring a single weapon slot, but with the added depth of rune-imbued weapons. This allows for immense customisation, transforming a standard sword into a high-crit powerhouse or an anti-mage tool.
    • The Power of Personal Skills: Each of your 20 heroes possesses a unique active skill that stays with them throughout their journey, alongside two class-tied skills gained through promotion. This makes building a synergistic team incredibly rewarding, as you mix and match abilities for devastating combos.
    • The Wounds System Returns: Instead of permanent permadeath, the signature “Wounds” system is back, now less punishing. Falling in battle results in a temporary stat penalty that lasts for the next chapter or so, encouraging you to keep your heroes safe without making every loss a campaign-ender.
    • 45 Branching Classes: With a massive array of classes to explore, each with distinct abilities and tactical roles, the possibilities for unit customisation are almost endless.

    Pixel-Perfect Presentation and Deep Customisation

Beyond the battlefield, Dark Deity 2 shines with its commitment to replayability and aesthetic polish.

    • Visuals and Polish: The sequel boasts a much more unified and polished pixel-art aesthetic. The map sprites are charming, environments are more detailed, and the overall interface is a significant improvement, bringing a crisp, nostalgic feel to the modern tactical experience.
    • Limitless Replayability: Inspired by community randomisers, the game includes a robust Campaign Customisation system. You can tweak difficulty with sliders for XP, gold, and aptitude growth, or even randomise recruitment orders for a completely fresh tactical challenge on every playthrough.
    • Forge Stronger Bonds: The return of the “Bonds” system allows for deeper relationships between party members, unlocking unique dialogue and combat benefits that enrich both the story and the strategic layer of the game.

Dark Deity 2 is a game for veteran SRPG players seeking a modern take on a classic genre, but also welcoming to newcomers thanks to its deep customisation options. It’s a clear improvement on its foundation, delivering a compelling story, satisfying combat, and more than enough tactical depth to keep you planning your next move for dozens of hours.

Dark Deity 2 is currently available on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and is launching soon on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Dungeon Crawling Gets a Spin: Dive into “Slot & Dungeons”!

Dungeon Crawling Gets a Spin: Dive into “Slot & Dungeons”!

Calling all roguelite and deck-building fans! If you thought you’d seen every twist on the genre, think again. “Slot & Dungeons,” the innovative title from MUC GAMES, has just launched into Early Access, bringing a truly unique blend of strategic card-play and pure, randomised luck. Get ready to have the dungeon floor dictated by a slot machine!

    What is “Slot & Dungeons”?

At its core, “Slot & Dungeons” is a solo deck-building roguelite. You choose a character and venture into a procedurally generated dungeon, battling enemies, levelling up, and collecting resources to grow stronger. Sound familiar? Here’s where it gets exciting:

The Slot Machine Mechanic: The twist is in the slot-based map generation. The placement of enemies, items, and spells on the floor of the dungeon isn’t random in the traditional sense—it’s determined by a slot machine draw! This introduces a fascinating layer of chaos and strategy. You’re not just drawing cards for combat; you’re drawing the dungeon itself.

    How the Slots Change Everything

The slots draw “symbols” which translate directly into the dungeon map:

    • Enemies: Adversaries are placed on the map, ready to challenge you.
    • Items: Valuable pickups like health potions or gear appear.
    • Spells: These symbols trigger powerful effects across the floor, offering a chance for big plays or crucial crowd control.

Your mission is to strategically use your attacks and skills, move around the floor, and collect or trigger these symbols. As you progress, you’ll find ways to collect and upgrade symbols to enhance the contents of the slot machine, giving you more influence over the randomised outcomes—a clever way to blend player agency with the game’s core luck element!

Choose Your Champion and Conquer the Chaos

The Early Access launch features three distinct playable characters, each with unique abilities and starting symbols to tailor your playstyle:

    1. The Warrior: Focuses on high durability and effective melee combat.
    2. The Mage: Specialises in spell-based extermination and ranged attacks.
    3. The Gambler: (A perfect fit for this game’s theme!) Likely brings a high-risk, high-reward style of play.

With over 100 items, 90 spells, 150 relics, and 150+ enemy types promised in the Early Access content, there’s a wealth of strategic depth to explore. Each run offers a fresh, chaotic adventure, forcing you to adapt your strategy to the whims of the reels.

    Early Access and the Future

MUC GAMES has just released “Slot & Dungeons” into Early Access on Steam (as of October 31, 2025). The developers are committed to refining the game and adding new content based on player feedback, with plans to expand with:

    • Additional characters and stages.
    • Multiple difficulty levels and an Endless Mode.
    • Further refinement of balance and systems.

If you enjoy the strategic planning of deck-builders but crave an unpredictable, adrenaline-pumping roguelite experience, “Slot & Dungeons” is an absolute must-try. Take a spin on the most original dungeon crawler of the year!

  • Earth’s Last Stand: Hybrid Warfare in Earth vs Mars

Earth’s Last Stand: Hybrid Warfare in Earth vs Mars

The fate of our home planet hangs in the balance, and honestly, it’s never looked this wild. Forget your traditional military strategy—the new turn-based tactics game, Earth vs Mars, from Relic Labs, throws out the rulebook and hands you the keys to the Splice-O-Tron, humanity’s last, craziest hope.

This is not your grandpa’s sci-fi invasion. This is a battle for Earth waged by human-animal hybrid supersoldiers against a terrifying Martian menace.

The Martian Menace: Advanced Tech Meets Atomic Abduction

The Martians aren’t new to Earth; they’ve been visiting for decades, secretly abducting our people and animals to harvest their “atomic essence” and create bizarre hybrids of their own. Now, they’ve arrived for the full invasion, bringing their high-tech saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors.

The threats are constantly evolving. As you push back, the Martians escalate, introducing their own mutant creations and the terrifying, sentient organic weapon known only as “The Creep.” You’ll need more than a few tanks and rifles to stop this planetary takeover.

    Humanity’s Secret Weapon: The Splice-O-Tron

This is where the game truly takes a left turn into brilliant madness. To combat the overwhelming alien forces, Earth’s military has developed the Splice-O-Tron. This unique mechanic allows you to combine human “volunteers” with Earth’s creatures to create an army of custom, mutated super-soldiers.

    Imagine:

    • A cheetah-fly hybrid, fast-moving and capable of raining down acid from the skies.
    • A human-rhino charging through enemy lines with devastating brute strength.
    • The utterly surreal squirrel-cow infantry striking from the forests.

The level of customisation promises a truly deep layer of strategy. You’re not just creating units; you’re designing your army from the ground up, splicing different body parts to inherit various abilities and stat buffs. Do you build a dedicated healer with axolotl DNA, or a heavy-hitting shock troop with the head of a rhino? The battlefield is your laboratory.

Game Modes and Why You’ll Stay Splicing

Earth vs Mars is built on the foundations of classic turn-based tactics games (think Advance Wars meets Relic’s own Impossible Creatures), but with its own unique flavour.

    • Expansive Campaign: Dive into a narrative-focused single-player campaign featuring over 30 hand-crafted missions where you’ll unlock new creature types and powerful commander abilities.
    • Online Multiplayer: Test your hybrid army against other players in intense 1v1 online battles, where you can choose to command either the armies of Earth or the Martian Invaders.
    • Map Lab: The fully featured Map Editor allows you to create your own custom maps and scenarios, ensuring the replayability is nearly endless, and the community can truly run wild with their creations.

Earth vs Mars isn’t just another strategy game; it’s a wonderfully weird, campy B-movie brought to life. It’s for players who crave tactical depth but also appreciate a truly unique and entertaining sci-fi premise. Prepare your volunteers—the war for Earth is about to get very, very strange.

  • Drill Core: Are You Ready to Dig Deep?

Drill Core: Are You Ready to Dig Deep?

Corporate greed meets strategic planet-mining in the wildly addictive roguelite, management, and tower defence blend: Drill Core. Developed by Hungry Couch Games and published by tinyBuild, this game has been quietly carving out a niche for players who love to build, optimise, and improvise under pressure.

The Core Loop: Mine by Day, Defend by Night

The premise is straightforward, yet packed with tension. You’re a Platform Manager for the titular “Drill Core” company, tasked with a very important mission: drilling to the core of various planets to “fix” their magnetic fields and environmental issues. Along the way, you’re encouraged to grab as much ore and valuable materials as possible—for the good of the company, of course.

The gameplay is split into two intense phases:

    • The Day Cycle (Management & Mining): You direct a team of expendable workers—miners, carriers, and guards—to tunnel deep into the planet’s crust. Your goal is to collect essential resources like Iron and Swarmlit for construction, and crucially, Coal to power the drill and descend to the next depth. You’ll strategically plan your mine paths, watching out for hazards like cave-ins, lava rocks, and early-stage alien critters.
    • The Night Cycle (Tower Defence): As the sun sets, the local fauna makes it clear they don’t appreciate your noise. Waves of increasingly aggressive enemies swarm your platform from above and below. This is where your base-building strategy comes to a head! You’ll need to use your collected resources to place and upgrade various turrets, defensive structures, and specialised buildings to hold the line until daylight returns.

The Thrill of Risk vs. Reward

What truly sets Drill Core apart is the ever-present balance of risk and reward.

Your primary contract requires you to reach a target depth, deploy the Core, and evacuate. However, the urge to go deeper is always there. More resources, more advanced technology blueprints, and permanent upgrade currency lurk just beyond the target depth. The catch? Every night, the enemy waves get stronger, and the subterranean hazards multiply.

    • Do you evacuate now with a modest profit to bank your resources and upgrades?
    • Or do you push for “one more payload,” risking your entire run and your current loot to unlock a game-changing piece of tech for future runs?

This constant balancing act creates a tense, satisfying loop that rewards bold strategy and quick adaptation.

    Deep Strategy and Meta-Progression

Beyond the immediate peril of each run, Drill Core features a satisfying amount of long-term depth.

    • Building Synergies: The sheer variety of buildings and turrets allows for a multitude of defensive strategies. You might focus on a wall of laser turrets with teleporters to maximise damage, or create a chain of rapid-fire machine guns with specific target priorities.
    • Roguelite Upgrades: Failed or successful missions reward you with permanent resources to spend on a global skill tree. These meta-upgrades can make subsequent runs more efficient, unlocking new unit types (like the explosive-loving Dwarves or the Swarmlit faction), new buildings, and persistent bonuses.
    • Qualifications and Contracts: For veteran players, the difficulty modifiers and ‘Qualification’ challenges offer high-stakes objectives that, when completed, unlock more advanced and specialised structures for your platform’s building pool.

Wrapped in a charming pixel-art aesthetic and a tongue-in-cheek corporate satire, Drill Core is a must-try. It’s approachable enough for management sim newcomers but deep enough to keep the most committed strategist busy for dozens of hours. If you love to plan, build, and adapt under the looming threat of imminent destruction, your next assignment awaits.

  • Descent into Madness: Unison Games Unveils the Sci-Fi Horror of ‘Descent of Lunaris’

Descent into Madness: Unison Games Unveils the Sci-Fi Horror of ‘Descent of Lunaris’

A new first-person, grid-based dungeon crawler is preparing to take players to a moonbase gone dark. ‘Descent of Lunaris,’ from debut studio Unison Games, is shaping up to be a chilling blend of classic RPG nostalgia and dark, psychological science fiction.

The genre of the dungeon RPG—the deliberate, methodical exploration of labyrinthine halls—has seen a resurgence, and now it’s getting a chilling sci-fi overhaul. Announced for a 2026 PC release on Steam, Descent of Lunaris positions itself as a ‘love letter to classic dungeon crawlers’ like Wizardry, Ultima, and Shin Megami Tensei, but its setting promises a unique brand of cosmic terror.

    The Premise: An Impossible Signal

The year is 2070. Humanity has established a mining operation on the Moon, a symbol of technological progress and resource extraction. This progress is shattered when a mysterious, “impossible” signal is unearthed from the lunar depths. Immediately, the base’s automatons go haywire, resulting in a massacre that wipes out most of the staff.

In response, a team of four specialised, multinational operatives is dispatched. Their mission: descend into the newly exposed subterranean world to find the source of the signal and the cause of the disaster.

The descent is not simply about survival; it is about unravelling a mystery that asks difficult questions about the nature of humanity itself.

    Core Mechanics: Old-School, New Strategy

Unison Games is leaning heavily on the classic design pillars of the genre while layering in modern complexity:

    • First-Person, Grid-Based Movement: Exploration will be tense and immersive, forcing players to navigate sprawling, hand-authored levels one grid-square at a time. The environments are set to dynamically evolve, transitioning from stark, industrial corridors to unsettling, psychedelic landscapes as the team delves deeper.
    • Hybrid Combat System: This is where Descent of Lunaris looks to innovate. While the core features traditional JRPG turn-based battles demanding keen resource management and formation strategy, certain encounters will shift into a tactical grid-based system. This fusion supports larger enemy groups and multi-phase bosses, requiring players to utilise positioning and area control, making party composition and flexibility absolutely crucial.
    • In-Depth Party Customization: Your four operatives are blank slates that can be finely tuned. Players can tailor abilities, invest in a comprehensive skill tree, and unlock subclasses to create hybrid builds. An affinity system and gear with unique modifiers allow for deep, long-term specialisation, rewarding those who experiment to counter the moon’s escalating threats.

    A Dark, Evolving Narrative

The story of Descent of Lunaris promises to be as unsettling as its visual style. As the operatives descend, they encounter not just strange creatures and hostile technology, but “twisted reflections of civilisation, structures, and mythology we know to be our own.” The narrative explores existential themes: Are the operatives investigating a problem, or are they the ones on trial? Are they being guided to a pre-determined end?

The game aims for high atmospheric immersion, using a chilling soundtrack and a striking visual contrast: sharp, evocative 2D character art for its creatures and NPCs is juxtaposed against detailed, modern 3D dungeon environments. This visual tension enhances the feeling that players are descending not just into the Moon, but into a place that should not exist.

A New Generation of Dungeon Crawler

By blending the deliberate pace and deep party strategy of classic DRPGs with a modern sci-fi horror aesthetic and a dynamic combat system, Descent of Lunaris is poised to appeal to both genre veterans and new players looking for a challenging, story-driven RPG.

The Descent is coming. Are you ready to see what lies at the bottom of the Moon?

  • Rebuilding and Ruin: Why You Need to Try Super Fantasy Kingdom

Rebuilding and Ruin: Why You Need to Try Super Fantasy Kingdom

Tired of the same old city-builders or roguelites? Get ready for a game that brilliantly smashes those two genres together: Super Fantasy Kingdom. It’s a charming pixel-art title that will have you happily building, defending, and then watching it all burn, only to jump straight back in for one more run.

The Cycle of the Crown: Build, Defend, Die, Repeat!

At its core, Super Fantasy Kingdom is a roguelite city-builder. You return to a land in ruin and, as the King, your task is to restore it. By day, you are a master of resource management. You assign workers to lumber yards, quarries, and farms, establishing production chains to feed your populace and fuel your construction. Every decision matters, as your available building plots and resources are limited and randomised each run.

But when night falls, the game shifts into a frantic defence! Hordes of monsters charge toward your castle gates, and your success hinges on the strategic placement and recruitment of your Heroes and units. This element plays out much like a tower defence or auto-battler, where unit synergy and positioning are key. You’ll recruit everything from archers and knights to cyclops and halflings, each with unique abilities and adjacency bonuses.

If your defences fail and your Hero falls, your kingdom is lost. But here’s the roguelite twist: progression is permanent.

    The Kingdom Always Rises

The magic of Super Fantasy Kingdom lies in its meta-progression. When you inevitably meet your demise, you carry forward “Glory” from defeated enemies and “Shards” from bosses and quests. These resources are used to unlock permanent benefits for future runs:

    • New Starting Heroes: Start your next run with a different, powerful Guardian to lead your defences.
    • Permanent Upgrades: Boost your starting resources, unlock new buildings, or gain access to unique relics.
    • Expanded Map: Unlocking “Roads” with Glory allows you to explore further, revealing new NPCs, challenges, and vital resource caches.

This continuous growth makes every “failed” run feel meaningful, giving you that addictive “just one more run” feeling as you strategise how to push your kingdom just a little further next time.

More Than Just Humans: The Undead Twist

As you progress through the Human Kingdom and defeat certain bosses, a whole new challenge awaits: the Undead Kingdom. This is no mere reskin; it introduces entirely different mechanics and resources.

Instead of permanent human workers, you manage a fleeting army of skeletons and zombies, using resources like “ooze” and “blood” to fuel your dark domain. This completely flips the resource management on its head, demanding new strategies and a different kind of micro-management, greatly expanding the game’s replayability.

    A Charming and Punishing Gem

With its bright, welcoming pixel-art style, Super Fantasy Kingdom is a visually appealing game. It manages to balance the satisfying loop of building and optimising with the punishing, high-stakes combat of a roguelite.

  • Fleet Hunters: More Than Just Battleship – It’s a Duel of Wits

Fleet Hunters: More Than Just Battleship – It’s a Duel of Wits

Are you ready to set sail for a new kind of naval battle? Forget the long, drawn-out guessing games of the past. Fleet Hunters is here to deliver a fast, fierce, and surprisingly deep strategy game that breathes modern life into the classic grid-based combat we all know and love.

Developed by Gnarly Labs SRL, this indie title is poised to make waves on Steam (and is coming soon!), promising a thrilling blend of prediction, positioning, and pure, strategic tension.

The New Era of Naval Combat

At its core, Fleet Hunters is a modern reimagining of the classic naval battle game—think of it as a sleek, turbo-charged version of Battleship. But don’t let the familiar setup fool you. The game introduces a pivotal mechanic that transforms the experience: Simultaneous Turns.

This single feature elevates the gameplay from a simple turn-based guessing game into a high-stakes duel of wits. Here’s why that matters:

    • Maximum Tension: Both you and your opponent plan your ship movements and target your shots at the same time. Once both captains lock in their choices, the action unfolds in a simultaneous burst of missiles, explosions, and tactical movement.
    • Predict and Pre-empt: Victory doesn’t just go to the lucky; it goes to the cleverest tactician. You’re not just asking “Where are their ships?” You’re asking, “Where will they move? Where will they shoot me? How can I outmanoeuvre their volley while setting up my own strike?”
    • A Single Misstep: With both sides firing at once, a single strategic error in ship placement or shot placement can cost you the match in an instant. Every decision carries weight.

    Key Features to Anchor Down

Beyond the simultaneous turns, Fleet Hunters offers a refined experience built for modern players:

    • Classic Grid-Based Gameplay: The foundation is easy to learn for anyone familiar with naval combat games. Position your fleet on the grid and try to sink all of your opponent’s ships before they sink yours.
    • Strategic Depth: The game promises an environment where clever positioning and bold guesses are rewarded. It’s an accessible concept with an endlessly replayable strategic loop.
    • Multiplayer Focus: Whether you want to challenge a friend locally over a LAN connection or test your skills against players worldwide via online matchmaking, the game is built for competitive action.
    • Clean, Modern Design: The interface is clean and refined, ensuring the focus remains squarely on the pure strategy and satisfying, explosive gameplay.

    Who Should Get on Board?

If you enjoy fast-paced strategy, naval combat, or you’re simply looking for a new game that’s easy to pick up but difficult to master, Fleet Hunters looks like a must-watch title.

It perfectly captures the timeless thrill of a battleship duel and refines it for a new generation of tacticians who appreciate a quick, unpredictable, and explosive experience.

Plan. Predict. Fire. And watch the sea erupt. Keep your eyes peeled for Fleet Hunters on Steam and get ready to command your destiny on the digital seas!

  • Rolling the Bones for Glory: Why You Need to Try Die For The Lich

Rolling the Bones for Glory: Why You Need to Try Die For The Lich

Dark fantasy fans, roguelike aficionados, and anyone who appreciates a unique spin on a familiar genre—listen up! Die For The Lich, the turn-based roguelike from Monovoid and 2 Left Thumbs, is not just another deckbuilder; it’s a thrilling, dice-fueled journey into a gothic nightmare.

If games like Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeons got together and had a baby with the dark atmosphere of Darkest Dungeon or Bloodborne, this would be it. With its distinctive dice-building mechanics, the game manages to strike a perfect, chaotic balance between strategy and pushing your luck.

    The Dice-Deck Difference

So, what makes Die For The Lich stand out? It swaps out the traditional “deck of cards” for a literal bag of magical dice and trinkets.

Every turn, you roll your available dice, which have different faces and values. The core strategy revolves around pairing these dice rolls with your equipped weapons and armaments. Why? Because to activate the most powerful effects—the crucial Critical Values—you need to hit a specific dice total.

This mechanic introduces a constant, exhilarating risk-reward calculation:

    • Do you commit a low-value die now to secure some defence, or hold out for a bigger roll that might unlock a devastating attack?
    • Do you visit the Dice Fusion table to customise your rolls, or seek out a Lucky Die for more reliability?

This isn’t just about resource management; it’s about fate management. You are constantly gambling with your success, and the sheer chaos of the dice roll keeps every run feeling fresh and unpredictable.

    A World Shrouded in Shadow

Beyond the clever mechanics, the game’s presentation is a feast for the eyes. It boasts a beautiful, moody, 16-bit pixel art style that perfectly captures the dark fantasy theme. You’ll venture through a land haunted by classic folklore creatures like the Strigoi and Vetala before you even get close to the ultimate goal: facing the King of the Undead, The Lich.

The roguelike structure ensures that death is merely a temporary setback. You’ll unlock new gear, abilities, and characters by completing gruelling challenges, ensuring that every failed run is still progress toward a unique, stronger future attempt.

Get Ready to Die… and Die Again

The public demo, which introduced two distinct playable characters (The Undertaker and Dante), has already garnered an overwhelmingly positive reception from the community—a sure sign that Monovoid is onto something special.

The good news? You don’t have to wait long to roll the dice yourself. Die For The Lich is planned to enter Early Access on November 10th, 2025.

If you crave a challenging roguelike that forces you to think on your feet, adapt your strategy on the fly, and embrace the thrill of a high-stakes dice roll, then make sure to Wishlist Die For The Lich on Steam.

Your strategic mind—and a little bit of luck—will be your only salvation against the Lich’s reign. Are you ready to embrace your fate?
