  • Holy Sheep! Human: Fall Flat Creators Reveal Their Next Hilarious VR Puzzle Adventure, Tiny Flock

Holy Sheep! Human: Fall Flat Creators Reveal Their Next Hilarious VR Puzzle Adventure, Tiny Flock

If you’ve ever lost hours to the chaotic, wobbly physics of Human: Fall Flat, get ready to roll up your sleeves—literally. No Brakes Games, the indie studio behind the multi-million-selling platforming sensation, has officially unveiled its brand-new title: Tiny Flock.

Built from the ground up exclusively for virtual reality, Tiny Flock is an utterly charming, physics-based VR puzzle game set to launch in 2026 on PCVR and Meta Quest. Best of all? It lands at a super accessible price point of $18.99 / €18.99 / £15.99.

Here’s everything you need to know about this cosy yet chaotic shepherd simulator.

    What is Tiny Flock?

In Tiny Flock, you leave behind the ragdoll humans to step into the boots of a VR shepherd. Your objective sounds simple enough: guide a group of adorable, slightly reckless sheep to their lush green pasture.

However, in true No Brakes Games fashion, where your sheep go, they follow—even if that means wandering straight off a cliff edge! It’s up to you to manipulate the environment and keep your woolly friends out of danger.

Set across 21 beautifully hand-crafted 3D diorama levels, the game treats every stage as a mini tabletop world waiting to be explored, stacked, pulled, and smashed.

    Pure Physics, Zero Fixed Solutions

What made Human: Fall Flat such a hit was its open-ended puzzle philosophy, and Tiny Flock doubles down on that creative freedom for VR:

    • 100% Interactive Dioramas: If you can see an object in the world, you can interact with it. Want to build a makeshift bridge? Go for it. Prefer to stack crates, smash through obstacles, or swing from levers? It’s all fair game.
    • No “Right” Answer: There are no rigid solutions. Whether you carefully engineer an elegant bridge or create complete, chaotic destruction to force a path, the game rewards experimentation and curiosity.
    • Tactile VR Controls: Featuring full hand-tracking and passthrough support on Meta Quest, players can reach right into the diorama with their hands to guide their flock naturally.

To top off the cosy atmosphere, the game also features a custom-built physics engine to make every interaction feel punchy and tactile, accompanied by a soothing, original cello soundtrack.

    Designed Strictly for Virtual Reality

Why pivot to exclusive VR? CEO of No Brakes Games, Tomas Sakalauskas, highlighted the studio’s passion for creating an experience that simply couldn’t work on a traditional screen:

“Tiny Flock is our desire to make something really good, polished and ambitious that is strictly VR, with interactions impossible on a flat screen… It takes the Human Fall Flat philosophy for its worlds and puzzles and pushes it into interactions unique to VR.”

    Key Features at a Glance

    • 21 Hand-crafted Diorama Worlds packed with interactive objects.
    • Built Exclusively for VR with Meta Quest passthrough and full hand-tracking support.
    • Custom Physics Engine offering tactile, satisfying puzzle mechanics.
    • High Replayability with hidden collectables and achievements for completionists.
    • Atmospheric Cello Soundtrack to set a relaxing, cosy mood.
    • Affordable Pricing: Launching at just USD $18.99 / €18.99 / £15.99.

    Final Thoughts

Whether you’re a die-hard VR enthusiast looking for a charming new physics playground or a fan of No Brakes Games’ signature brand of cosy chaos, Tiny Flock looks like an absolute gem to keep on your radar.

Tiny Flock is set to arrive on PCVR (via Steam) and Meta Quest in 2026. Make sure to add it to your wishlist today!

  • Stranded in Paradise: Acclaimed VR Survival Game ‘Bootstrap Island’ Hits PlayStation VR2 Today!

Stranded in Paradise: Acclaimed VR Survival Game ‘Bootstrap Island’ Hits PlayStation VR2 Today!

VR survival fans, assemble! Developer Maru VR has officially announced that its critically acclaimed 17th-century survival adventure, Bootstrap Island, is now available on PlayStation VR2 for $24.99 / €24.99.

Following its hugely successful PC VR run—where it earned widespread praise for its brutal, highly realistic physics and systems-driven world—the complete survival adventure makes its console VR debut with powerful platform-specific enhancements.

    A Relentless Robinson Crusoe Experience

Inspired by classic shipwreck tales like Robinson Crusoe, Bootstrap Island thrusts you into the shoes of Daniel, a 17th-century merchant cast ashore on a mysterious, unforgiving tropical island.

Forget about hand-holding markers, minimaps, or intrusive UI tutorials. In Bootstrap Island, you are left entirely to your own instincts. You will need to learn through trial and error, adapt to dynamic threats, and make split-second decisions where every mistake could spell the end of your run.

    A Truly Systems-Driven World

What sets Bootstrap Island apart from standard survival titles is its interconnected, dynamic simulation:

    • Unpredictable Mechanics: Fire, weather, liquids, physical motion, animal behaviour, and a ruthless day-night cycle interact with one another in real time.
    • Diverse Biomes: Scavenge for vital resources across dense jungles, perilous cliffs, sandy beaches, winding riverlands, hidden caves, and volcanic landscapes.
    • Infinite Replayability: Thanks to randomised loot, shifting weather, and changing wildlife threats, no two survival attempts are ever the same.

    Built Ground-Up for Virtual Reality

Bootstrap Island emphasises tangible physical interaction. Want to start a fire? You’ll need to strike flint manually. Out of ammo? You’ll have to reload period-accurate firearms by hand under high-pressure scenarios. From climbing sheer cliffs to fishing, cooking over an open flame, and building shelters, every motion is designed to deliver complete immersion.

To top it off, the PlayStation VR2 version leverages the headset’s cutting-edge hardware features:

    • Eye-Tracked Foveated Rendering for crisp, stunning visuals.
    • Sense Controller Haptics & Adaptive Triggers for realistic physical feedback.
    • Headset Feedback that brings every impact, storm, and creature encounter right to your forehead.

    Learn, Adapt, and Endure

Combining roguelike mechanics with long-term progression, every run in Bootstrap Island serves as a learning experience. Cumulative survival time unlocks new tools and equipment across future playthroughs, giving you a better fighting chance as you uncover the secrets of the island, its past inhabitants, and its mysterious local tribe.

Prefer a more tailored challenge? The game also includes a Custom Mode, allowing you to tweak day length, environmental intensity, and survival difficulty to suit your exact playstyle.

  • Face the Fright Together: Scary Baboon’s Massive Bosses Update Brings Co-Op Chaos to VR

Face the Fright Together: Scary Baboon’s Massive Bosses Update Brings Co-Op Chaos to VR

If you thought running for your life from terrifying lab experiments in VR was purely a solo test of nerve, think again. Scary Baboon, the viral multiplayer VR horror phenomenon on Meta Quest, is putting teamwork front and centre with its biggest release yet: The Bosses Update.

Known for its chaotic jump scares, meme-worthy player interactions, and millions-strong community, Scary Baboon is stepping into a bold new era. Rather than just running, screaming, and scattering in all directions, players are now being challenged to assemble, coordinate, and face down a terrifying shared threat together.

Enter Meatman: A Failed Experiment Demands Cooperation

The centrepiece of the new update is the arrival of Meatman as a full-scale co-op boss battle. One of the game’s most iconic and deeply unsettling monsters, Meatman is the grotesque result of a failed laboratory experiment—and he’s not going down easily.

While brave (or foolish) solo players can try to take on Meatman alone, developer ENVER designed this encounter specifically around cooperative play. To defeat Meatman, groups of players need to combine forces, coordinate their attacks, watch each other’s backs, and revive or support teammates mid-fight.

It transforms the core Scary Baboon experience from hilarious, frantic survival into a tactical, action-packed team raid—all while keeping the signature horror and comedy that made the game a massive hit in the first place.

Gear Up and Power Up: New Mechanics and Tech Trees

The Bosses Update isn’t just about throwing a bigger monster at players; it seamlessly connects several systems introduced in recent updates to create a much deeper gameplay loop:

    • Combat & Loadouts: Weapons and combat mechanics introduced in the earlier Fight Back update now serve a crucial purpose. Players can equip new explosives, shields, and ranged weapons specifically tuned for high-stakes encounters.
    • The Boss Tech Tree: A dedicated progression tree gives players unlockable options and upgrades to tailor their loadouts for boss encounters.
    • Pets Lend a Hand: The adorable (and useful) pets introduced in July’s update now feature directly in combat. Bringing your pets into battle boosts your critical-hit chances against Meatman.
    • Epic Rewards: Defeating Meatman isn’t just for bragging rights—victorious teams are rewarded with rare eggs and the chance to hatch even more powerful pets.

    A Rapidly Evolving Shared World

The Bosses Update marks another milestone in a rapid live-service run from studio ENVER, following hits like Dreamcore, Fight Back, Toxic, and the Pet Update. With over 73,000 ratings on Meta Quest (averaging 4.7 stars) and a thriving Discord community of over 220,000 members, Scary Baboon continues to cement its place as one of the most culturally active titles in VR.

Whether you’re a long-time test subject or a complete newcomer to the laboratory, there’s never been a better time to grab your headset, rally your friends, and see if your squad has what it takes to survive Meatman.

Has your squad attempted the Meatman boss fight yet? What’s your favourite loadout? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Get Ready to Raid: Sweet Surrender Creators Announce DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew for Meta Quest and SteamVR

Get Ready to Raid: Sweet Surrender Creators Announce DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew for Meta Quest and SteamVR

The extraction shooter craze is officially hitting deep space in virtual reality. Munich-based independent studio Salmi Games—the brilliant minds behind the hit VR roguelite Sweet Surrender—has officially pulled back the curtain on their next major project: DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew.

Revealed during the Summer VR Games Showcase, this upcoming title is a 4-player, PvE co-op VR extraction shooter built from the ground up for tactile, high-stakes immersive gameplay. It is officially headed to Meta Quest and SteamVR.

Check out everything we know about your next favourite VR obsession below.

The Premise: Raid, Steal, and Survive

In DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew, you and your squad play as a desperate crew stranded in the dark corners of deep space. Running on emergency backup power, your survival depends entirely on what you can scavenge and steal.

Your mission? Drop into heavily guarded, ancient alien temples to scavenge rare resources, fight off relentless robotic defence systems, and extract vital energy to keep your dying mothership alive.

    High-Stakes Risk vs. Reward

True to the extraction genre, the core hook of DRIFTERS revolves around classic push-your-luck decision-making. Do you and your crew risk pushing deeper into the facility for rarer, high-tier loot? Or do you call it a day and extract early before the automated security systems completely overwhelm you? One wrong move, and you lose everything.

Built for Immersion: Tactile VR Gunplay & Jetpacks

Salmi Games isn’t just making a standard shooter; they are tailoring every single mechanic to the unique strengths of VR.

    • Physical Interactions: Expect incredibly tactile weapon handling, manual reloading, and physical looting that makes every firefight feel chaotic and immediate.
    • Dynamic Movement: Players will be equipped with jetpacks, adding verticality to the combat and allowing them to boost across environments to flank enemies or escape danger.
    • Sci-Fi Visuals: The game features a distinct, highly stylised sci-fi aesthetic. It’s hand-crafted to run smoothly on standalone VR headsets like the Meta Quest while offering extra visual headroom to truly shine on high-end Desktop PC VR setups.

“With Sweet Surrender, we spent years refining responsive VR combat alongside our community,” says Yacine Salmi, founder of Salmi Games. “With DRIFTERS, we are taking that experience into a bigger co-op game built around teamwork, physical VR gunplay, and extraction decisions players have to make together under pressure.”

    Crafting and Progression

The loop doesn’t end when you make it back to the ship. Successful extractions feed directly into a long-term progression system. Back on your mothership, you’ll use your hard-earned loot to:

    • Craft powerful new weapon parts and gear.
    • Upgrade your suits and toolkits for the next drop.
    • Unlock cosmetics to make your drifter stand out.
    • Build out and improve your home base.

    Join the Crew: Community-Driven Development

Salmi Games has a stellar track record of supporting their titles post-launch with massive, community-shaped updates (as seen with Sweet Surrender). They plan to bring that same collaborative approach to DRIFTERS.

The team has already announced plans for private playtests, inviting players to give feedback early in the cycle to help shape development before the official release.

While a solid release date hasn’t been locked in just yet, you can head over to Steam and the Meta Store right now to add DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew to your wishlist. You can also jump into the official Salmi Games Discord to sign up for upcoming playtest opportunities.

  • Helmet On, Visor Down: LANESPLIT Drops Massive Free Update and Full Steam VR Support!

Helmet On, Visor Down: LANESPLIT Drops Massive Free Update and Full Steam VR Support!

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the white-knuckle adrenaline rush of weaving through deadlocked traffic on a superbike—without, you know, the actual real-world peril—then solo developer FunkyMouse (Shakya Ranatunga) has just delivered your ultimate fix.

The critically acclaimed traffic-weaving motorcycle racing simulator, LANESPLIT, has officially accelerated into the virtual reality realm. Announced at the VR Games Showcase, the game has dropped a massive, game-changing free content update alongside full PC via Steam VR support.

Grab your virtual handlebars, because this indie hit just took immersion to a whole new level.

    Strap into the Virtual Saddle

LANESPLIT has always been praised for its flow-state gameplay, but experiencing it in true first-person VR completely alters the playing field. With traffic whizzing past your peripheral vision at breakneck speeds, the sense of velocity is utterly intoxicating.

The formula remains beautifully intense: dodge traffic, rack up points for tight lane-splitting manoeuvres, and don’t crash. Because if you do? The heart-pounding drum-and-bass soundtrack screeches to a violent halt, and the game’s realistic ragdoll physics will send your rider flying.

What’s New in the Free Content Update?

FunkyMouse isn’t just delivering VR support; the base game is receiving an incredible injection of free content for all players:

    • A Beefed-Up Garage: The roster has expanded to high-performance machines, including two brand-new electric bikes that feature their own entirely distinct acceleration curves, traction, and handling characteristics.
    • Ride as the Legends: The update introduces a fresh cast of playable characters modelled after real-world motorcycle icons and POV content creators, including Brian636, CyborgAngel, and GhostRider.
    • Dynamic, Slick Weather: Think you’ve mastered the roads? The addition of Thunderstorms will turn bone-dry highways into treacherous, suddenly slick asphalt, forcing you to feather the throttle to survive.
    • Modes for Every Mood: Test your ultimate reflexes in the chaotic Rush Hour mode, or simply cruise empty, beautiful highways in the beautifully relaxed Zen Mode.

“Motorcycle POV videos from Brian636, CyborgAngel, and GhostRider were a huge inspiration for this content update,” says solo developer Shakya Ranatunga. “While the first-person camera angle already lends itself to flow-state gameplay, VR takes the riding experience to another level.”

Play Solo or Dominate the Leaderboards

Whether you want to tackle the highways alone, customise your custom rider, or burn rubber in multiplayer against friends, the new LANESPLIT update delivers the definitive urban racing experience.

The update is out now on PC. If you own the base game on Steam, the VR functionality and content drop are completely free.

Into the Deep: Squido Studio and Spectral Games Partner Up for Lovecraftian VR Adventure ‘The Lightkeepers’

The virtual reality landscape is about to get a whole lot darker—and a lot more exciting. Squido Studio, the brilliant minds behind the critically acclaimed VR adventure platformer No More Rainbows and the chaotic sandbox universe of DigiGods, have officially announced a major publishing partnership with Spectral Games.

Spectral Games, widely recognised for their impressive work on the immersive Medieval Dynasty, is teaming up with Squido Studio to bring their highly anticipated upcoming title, The Lightkeepers, to life.

The announcement, which dropped alongside a thrilling new gameplay trailer at the VR Games Showcase, also locked in a global release date: September 10th, 2026, on the Meta Quest Store for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

Surviving the Night: What is The Lightkeepers?

The Lightkeepers is a cooperative action-survival VR game set in a haunting, beautifully realised 1920s world heavily inspired by the cosmic horror works of H.P. Lovecraft. In it, players assume the role of the ultimate line of defence between humanity and the insatiable nightmares lurking beneath the ocean waves.

The gameplay loop splits into a frantic, strategic race against time across day and night cycles:

    • By Day (Explore & Plunder): Take to the volatile seas by boat to explore mist-shrouded, hand-designed islands. Players will venture into forgotten undergrounds, solve environmental puzzles, and clear out dark dungeons to gather vital resources and treasures.
    • By Twilight (Prepare & Craft): Back at the lighthouse, the team must work together to distribute responsibilities. You’ll use your hard-earned resources to craft mines and grenades, set up tactical fortifications, patch up wounds, and gear up for the coming onslaught.
    • By Night (Fight Until Dawn): When the cursed moon rises, the sea spews out terrifying cosmic horrors. With a massive arsenal of over 20 diverse weapons—ranging from firearms to melee gear—you and your crew must fight tooth and nail. The goal is simple but brutal: keep the lighthouse flame burning at all costs. If the light goes out, darkness consumes everything.

    A Powerhouse Partnership for VR

This partnership represents a massive step forward for both studios. Squido Studio has built a fierce reputation for defying VR boundaries with intuitive movement mechanics and player freedom. By stepping into the publishing ring with Spectral Games—a team that excels at mechanical depth and rich atmospheric world-building—they are positioning The Lightkeepers to be one of the premier VR cooperative experiences of the year.

Beyond the frantic combat, the game will feature a deep meta-progression system, allowing players to permanently unlock character cosmetics and upgrade starting weapons between missions, giving the title plenty of replayability.

    Sign the Contract

If you think you have what it takes to brave the depths, the wait won’t be too long. The Lightkeepers arrives on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S this autumn. You can currently wishlist the game on the Meta Store or sign up for upcoming playtests by joining the official Spectral Games Discord.

Get your crew ready. When September 10th comes, any strategy is a good strategy—as long as the light doesn’t go out!

  • Meta Quest Smash Hit ‘Scary Baboon’ Gets Contaminated: ENVER Drops Massive Toxic Update

Meta Quest Smash Hit ‘Scary Baboon’ Gets Contaminated: ENVER Drops Massive Toxic Update

VR horror fans, grab your hazmat suits. Studio ENVER has officially unleashed the Toxic Update for Scary Baboon, dropping a wave of terrifying new mechanics, major map revamps, and plenty of community-requested chaos into one of Meta Quest’s most popular social horror sandboxes.

Following on the heels of the mind-bending Dreamcore expansion and the combat-heavy Fight Back Update, this latest drop proves that ENVER is listening closely to its massive player base, which now boasts a Discord community of over 200,000 members.

Here is everything you need to know about what’s lurking in the toxic fumes.

    Fan-Favourite Maps Just Got Deadlier

The core of the Toxic Update centres on deep overhauls of two of the game’s most iconic locations, turning familiar escape routes into stress-inducing death traps.

    1. The Sewers (With a New Ticking Clock)

Already one of the tensest environments in Scary Baboon, the Sewers map has undergone a radical mechanic rework.

    • The Flood Event: Every five minutes, the sewers will completely flood for a full sixty seconds. Players must drop everything and scramble for high ground to survive the rising waters.
    • A New Threat: As if drowning weren’t enough, a brand-new sewer monster has been added to the depths, ensuring you are never truly alone while trying to stay dry.

    2. The Hospital (Where Ghosts Don’t Rest)

The revamped Hospital map introduces a chilling, haunting mechanic that fundamentally changes multiplayer dynamics.

    • Vengeful Spirits: When a player dies inside the Hospital, they don’t just head to a spectator screen. Instead, their ghost lingers in the space for a few minutes.
    • Turn on Your Friends: These temporary ghosts have the power to hunt down and kill surviving players—or seek immediate revenge on the teammates who left them behind to die.

Biohazards, Better Menus, and Love Letters

Beyond the map overhauls, the update brings a fresh biohazard-themed cosmetic bundle so you can dress the part while navigating the contaminated chaos.

ENVER has also delivered a suite of quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback, including an entirely revamped settings menu, cleaner user interfaces, more intuitive tools for making friends in-game, and expanded accessibility features.

“This update is our version of a love letter to the community, a love letter which includes a flooding sewer, monsters, and a hospital haunted by ghosts.” — Will Creighton, Game Director at ENVER

    The Verdict

With millions of downloads and a stellar 4.6-star rating on the Meta Quest store, Scary Baboon continues to dominate the VR social space by keeping its content rhythm fast, simple, and incredibly shareable. The Toxic Update doubles down on what makes the game a viral sensation on YouTube and TikTok: high-impact panic, unpredictable player interactions, and pure multiplayer fun.

The Toxic Update is available to play right now on Meta Quest. Dive in, watch the clock, and watch your friends’ backs—especially after they die.

  • Rom-Com Meets the Undead: Why Cute & Dead is the Wackiest VR Shooter You Need This Summer

Rom-Com Meets the Undead: Why Cute & Dead is the Wackiest VR Shooter You Need This Summer

If you told us a few years ago that the developers behind the gritty, hyper-realistic physics of Hellsplit: Arena would follow it up with a bright, chaotic VR zombie shooter about a nerd trying to secure a prom date during the apocalypse, we probably would have assumed you’d spent too much time in the headset.

Yet, here we are. Deep Type Games has officially unveiled Cute & Dead, and it is exactly the kind of beautifully unhinged gaming mashup the VR world needs right now. Blending the fast-paced, nostalgic energy of 90s couch co-op classics like Zombies Ate My Neighbors with modern VR technology and a literal dating simulator twist, this title is shaping up to be pure, unadulterated fun.

The Premise: Apocalypse? Sure. But Can I Get Her Number?

In Cute & Dead, you don’t play as a gruff, grizzled military survivor. Instead, you step into the shoes of a typical school nerd. The world has gone to absolute ruin, and flesh-eating hordes are roaming the streets, but you have your priorities straight: you are going to ask the hottest girl in school out on a date.

To do that, you just have to find her. And rescue her. Along with 30 unique potential “girlfriends” scattered across the game’s maps.

The loop is brilliant: you fight your way through colourful, stylised environments, gun down wacky undead variants, rescue a classmate, and then head to the club to dance the night away and build your relationship. Oh, and did we mention you get a loyal dog companion who fights right alongside you? Because you do.

Nostalgic Chaos Blended with Modern VR

The combat in Cute & Dead is fast, chaotic, and intentionally slapstick. It completely discards grimdark survival tropes in favour of arcade-style thrill.

    • The Arsenal: You’ll be using everything from improvised, everyday gadgets to high-powered weaponry across 10 different weapon varieties to fend off 8 distinct enemy types.
    • The Vibe: The top-down, frantic energy of Zombies Ate My Neighbours translates beautifully into roomscale VR. It’s colourful, frantic, and requires you to keep moving.
    • The Collectable Element: With 8 unique maps to explore and 30 characters to unlock and meet, there is a massive checklist for completionists who want to rescue everyone and find every easter egg.

Our Take: It’s refreshing to see a VR developer lean entirely into the “just plain fun” territory. The mechanics look sharp, the aesthetic is wonderfully vibrant, and the juxtaposition of arcade violence with a dating sim is comedy gold.

    When Can You Play It?

The wait won’t be long at all. Cute & Dead is scheduled to drop first on the Meta Horizon Store in July 2026, with full compatibility for Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest Pro, and the upcoming Quest 3S.

If you are a PCVR purist, hang tight—the game is slated to arrive on Steam VR in the second half of 2026. (As for PSVR2? The developers haven’t planned it just yet, but they haven’t ruled it out for the future either).

If you’re ready to lock, load, and lock down a date, keep your eyes on TechMash for our full review when the game launches next month!
