Take to the Skies: Solarpunk Lands on PC and Consoles this June

Get your airships ready and your solar panels polished. The wait for one of the most anticipated indie titles of the year is nearly over. Publisher rokaplay and developer Cyberwave have officially announced that their cosy survival adventure, Solarpunk, will launch on June 8, 2026.

The announcement, which debuted during the recent Triple-I Initiative showcase, confirms that the game will be coming to a wide array of platforms, including PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

    A High-Flying Vision

Developed by a dedicated two-person team over the last four years, Solarpunk has become a massive community favourite, amassing over one million wishlists on Steam. Set in a stunning world of floating islands, the game swaps the typical “grit and grime” of the survival genre for a hopeful, high-tech future where sustainability is the name of the game.

Key Features to Look Forward To:

    • Sustainable Survival: Forget hunting for scrap in the mud. In Solarpunk, you harness the power of the sun, wind, and water to create renewable energy systems that power your gadgets and automated farms.
    • Airship Exploration: The sky is your playground. Players can build and customise their own airships to travel between distant islands, discovering new resources and secrets hidden in the clouds.
    • Co-op Adventures: While you can enjoy a peaceful solo journey, the game supports online co-op for up to four players. Share the load of resource gathering, build a massive floating sanctuary together, or simply enjoy the view with friends.
    • Cosy Automation: From building intricate irrigation systems to crafting helpful robots, the focus is on creating a self-sufficient ecosystem so you have more time to explore and decorate.

“Solarpunk is a survival game in a technically advanced world of floating islands… Alone or together with your friends, you can construct buildings, grow food, craft gadgets and hop on your airship to explore distant islands in the sky.” — Cyberwave Development Team

    Why the Hype is Real

The game’s recent demo during Steam Next Fest saw over 500,000 downloads, proving that there is a massive appetite for “cosy survival.” By removing the stress of traditional survival mechanics and replacing them with rewarding automation and beautiful aesthetics, Cyberwave is carving out a unique niche in the genre.

Whether you’re looking to build a sustainable paradise or explore the far reaches of a shattered world, mark your calendars for June 8. It’s time to see what life is like above the clouds.

  • Dig In! Horticultural Combat Game ‘Planted!’ Announced for PC and Consoles

Dig In! Horticultural Combat Game ‘Planted!’ Announced for PC and Consoles

Get ready to swap your tranquil gardening gloves for combat wellies. Independent publisher Curveball Games and developer Cloth Cat Games have officially pulled back the curtain on Planted!, a chaotic new “horticultural combat” party game heading to PC and consoles.

If you’ve ever felt that traditional farming sims were missing a bit of high-octane violence, this might be the game you’ve been waiting for.

    What is Planted!?

Described as “part harvest sim, part sports game, and 100% cultivated chaos,” Planted! is a co-op party game for 1–4 players. Instead of just peacefully tending to your marigolds, you’ll be sowing, growing, and throwing your produce at goals—and your opponents—to rack up points in fast-paced arena battles.

The game is a long-term passion project for the Cardiff-based team at Cloth Cat Games, who have been developing the concept for the last five years.

    Key Features at a Glance:

    • Sow, Grow, and Throw: The core loop involves managing your allotment under pressure. You’ll need to strategically use fertiliser to grow “colossal crops” for more points or sabotage your rivals by stealing their hard-earned offerings.
    • Arena Hazards: It’s not just other players you have to worry about. The arenas are packed with “spud turrets” and “weed bombs” designed to keep you on your toes.
    • Diverse Environments: At launch, the game will feature 8 unique environments, each offering different twists and tactical challenges.
    • Solo & Multiplayer: Jump into a full single-player campaign or take the fight online with friends. The game supports both local and online multiplayer.
    • Cross-Play: PC and console players can go head-to-head regardless of their platform.

    Platforms and Availability

Planted! is set to bloom across all major platforms. You’ll find it digitally on:

    • PC (Steam)
    • PlayStation 5
    • Xbox Series X|S
    • Nintendo Switch

For the collectors out there, physical editions have also been confirmed for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

“When Cloth Cat told us about their horticultural combat party game packed to the brim with character and playful ideas, we were sold instantly,” said Ed Gregory, Senior Publishing Manager at Curveball Games.

    Why We’re Excited

The “Cosy Game” genre has exploded recently, but Planted! seems to be taking that aesthetic and turning it on its head. It carries the frantic energy of games like Overcooked! but injects a competitive, sports-like edge that feels fresh. Whether you’re a tactical grower or just want to pelt your mates with an oversized turnip, this looks like a winner for game night.

Only thyme will tell who reigns supreme in the garden.

Stay tuned to TechMash for more updates on Planted! as we head toward its 2026 release window.

Table Flip Simulator Smashes onto Consoles and PC this May

Feeling a bit stressed? Tired of the daily grind? YummyYummyTummy and PM Studios have the perfect digital outlet for your frustrations. The duo has officially announced that their chaotic physics-based puzzler, Table Flip Simulator, is set to launch on May 21, 2026.

Whether you’ve had a bad day at the office or you just really like the sound of breaking virtual porcelain, this game is turning the “stress-relief” genre on its head—literally.

From Barista to the President of Antarctica

Table Flip Simulator isn’t just about mindless destruction (though there is plenty of that). It follows a surprisingly epic “hero’s journey” that begins with a retail worker being forced to work overtime on their birthday. Naturally, the only logical response is to start flipping furniture.

As you progress through the game’s various stages, the stakes escalate from messy coffee shops and rowdy nightclubs to the highest halls of power. You’ll eventually find yourself wrecking a “not-Oval” political office as you strive to become the President of Antarctica.

    Key Features of the Chaos

The game blends “retro-cool” physics-based graphics with slapstick comedy. Here is what you can expect when you start flipping:

    • Diverse Scenarios: Wreak havoc in a movie theatre, a high school classroom, or a high-end restaurant.
    • Creative Problem Solving: Each stage offers unique tasks and optional challenges. Sometimes the “puzzle” is figuring out the most efficient way to cause a chain reaction of destruction.
    • Epic Boss Fights: It’s not all stationary furniture. You’ll go toe-to-toe with a college professor and even take on a massive Kaiju using nothing but the objects around you.
    • Customisation: Earn high scores to unlock dozens of costumes, allowing you to flip tables in style.

“I wanted to make Table Flip Simulator for people to destress through destruction and turn everyday frustrations into slapstick comedy with big flip energy,” says Spencer Yip, Director at YummyYummyTummy.

    Launch Details

Mark your calendars and clear some space (on your hard drive and your virtual desk). Table Flip Simulator arrives on May 21 for a retail price of $14.99.

  • Worshippers of Cthulhu Launches on Xbox Today

Worshippers of Cthulhu Launches on Xbox Today

The wait is finally over for console-bound cultists. After making waves on PC, the dark, atmospheric city-builder Worshippers of Cthulhu has officially emerged from the depths and launched on Xbox Series X|S today, March 27, 2026.

If you’ve ever felt that traditional city-builders were a bit too “sunshine and happiness,” developer Crazy Goat Games and publisher Crytivo have the perfect antidote. It’s time to stop worrying about park maintenance and start worrying about the patience of an Elder God.

Lead the Cult, Shape the World

In Worshippers of Cthulhu, you aren’t just a mayor; you are the Grand Cult Leader. Your goal isn’t to create a thriving utopia, but to prepare the world for the awakening of Cthulhu. This unique spin on the management genre blends complex production chains with a thick layer of cosmic horror.

Key features of the Xbox launch include:

    • Sacrificial Management: Balance your workforce by deciding who toils in the mines and who is “blessed” to be sacrificed in dark rituals to gain supernatural favours.
    • Eldritch Expansion: Conquer surrounding islands to gather resources, but beware—the non-believers won’t go down without a fight.
    • Divine Intervention: Perform rituals to communicate with Dagon and other Lovecraftian entities to unlock buildings and powers that defy the laws of physics.
    • The Patience Meter: Manage “Cthulhu’s Patience.” If you fail to meet the Great Old One’s demands, the consequences for your city—and reality itself—will be dire.

    Console-Ready Cultism

The transition to Xbox brings a revamped UI designed specifically for controllers, ensuring that managing your sprawling islands of madness feels intuitive. Whether you’re zooming in to watch your followers perform a ritual or managing the global inventory across multiple islands, the Xbox Series hardware keeps the atmospheric visuals crisp and the loading times (mercifully) short.

“We wanted to create a city builder where every choice feels heavy with consequence. In this world, there is no ‘wrong’ way to lead, only the Great Old One’s way.” — Crazy Goat Games

    Availability

Worshippers of Cthulhu is available right now on the Xbox Store. For those who prefer their horror on the go or on different hardware, the game is also available on Steam, where it currently holds a “Very Positive” rating. A PlayStation 5 version is also confirmed to be in development for a release later this year.

Are you ready to answer the call? The ritual begins today. Head over to the Xbox Store and start building your legacy—before the world ends.

Will you be leading your followers to glory or sacrifice today? Let us know in the comments!

  • Sega & Microsoft’s “Stranger Than Heaven”: The 50-Year Epic You Didn’t See Coming

Sega & Microsoft’s “Stranger Than Heaven”: The 50-Year Epic You Didn’t See Coming

If you thought Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio was content just giving us more neon-soaked street fights in modern-day Kamurocho, think again. During the latest Xbox Partner Preview, Sega and Microsoft finally pulled back the curtain on the project formerly known as Project Century.

Now officially titled Stranger Than Heaven, this isn’t just another spin-off—it’s a massive, multi-generational epic that feels like the most ambitious swing Sega has taken in a decade.

Five Eras, Five Cities, One Massive Mystery

The headline news from the reveal is the game’s staggering scope. Unlike the dense, single-neighbourhood focus of the Like a Dragon series, Stranger Than Heaven spans a 50-year history of the Japanese underworld. We’re talking about five distinct time periods:

1915: The dawn of the Taisho era.

    1929: Pre-war tension and jazz-age aesthetic.

1943: The height of WWII (a bold and rare setting for RGG).

1951: Post-war reconstruction and the rise of the black markets.

1965: The classic “Showy” era of the Japanese economic miracle.

Each era will reportedly feature its own unique Japanese city. While RGG is famous for reusing assets to keep their release schedule fast, the trailer showed off entirely new bespoke assets, from period-accurate trams to era-specific fighting animations.

    A “Stranger” Kind of Combat

The gameplay footage showcased a brutal, highly dynamic combat system. It looks like an evolution of the RGG brawler DNA, but with a much heavier emphasis on:

Weaponry: Era-appropriate tools of the trade.

Environmental Interaction: Think less of “picking up a bicycle” and more of using the literal architecture of the time to your advantage.

One-vs-Many: The scale of the brawls looked significantly larger than what we’ve seen in recent titles.

The Microsoft Connection: Day One on Game Pass

The “special relationship” between Sega and Microsoft continues to bear fruit. Microsoft confirmed that Stranger Than Heaven will be a Day One Xbox Game Pass title. It also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a single purchase gets you the game on both Series X|S and PC with cross-save functionality.

Note: While Microsoft is heavily marketing the game, it is not exclusive. It will also be launching on PlayStation 5 and Steam.

    What’s Next?

If you’re hungry for more, you won’t have to wait long. Sega and Microsoft announced a first-of-its-kind standalone broadcast: “Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven.”

    Date: May 6, 2026 (May 7 for UK/BST)

Time: 4:00 PM PDT / 12:00 AM BST

What to expect: A deep dive into the story of Mako Daito, the “all-star cast” reveal, and extended gameplay.

Stranger Than Heaven looks like it’s trying to be the Red Dead Redemption of the Yakuza world—a sombre, sprawling historical epic that defines an era. We’ll be watching the May showcase closely.

  • The Fight for Pywel Begins: Pearl Abyss Drops Epic Crimson Desert Launch Trailer

The Fight for Pywel Begins: Pearl Abyss Drops Epic Crimson Desert Launch Trailer

The long wait is nearly over. Today, Pearl Abyss officially pulled back the curtain on the global launch trailer for Crimson Desert, and if you thought the previous gameplay clips were ambitious, you haven’t seen anything yet.

Scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, this open-world action-adventure is shaping up to be one of the most technically impressive titles of the year. The new trailer gives us our most comprehensive look at the journey of Kliff, a mercenary leader fighting to reunite his scattered “Greymanes” band across the war-torn continent of Pywel.

A New Standard for Open-World Action?

The launch trailer isn’t just a cinematic tease; it’s a high-octane showcase of the game’s proprietary BlackSpace Engine. We get a glimpse of:

Insane Traversal: From physics-based grappling hooks and jetpacks to soaring through the skies on the back of a dragon.

Visceral Combat: The trailer highlights Kliff’s brutal combat style, which blends traditional swordplay with wrestling-inspired grapples—yes, we saw a powerbomb in a medieval fantasy setting, and it looked glorious.

Colossal Bosses: We see Kliff taking on towering mechanical dragons and shadowy entities that look like they’ve stepped straight out of a nightmare.

    Technical Prowess on Display

Pearl Abyss also took this opportunity to detail how the game will run across various platforms.

The studio confirmed that the game will occupy roughly 150 GB of storage, reflecting the sheer scale of Pywel—a map rumoured to be significantly larger than Skyrim.

    Pre-Loading and Launch Details

Pre-orders are already live, offering exclusive bonuses like the Khaled Shield and the Grotevant Plate Set. If you’ve already secured your copy, mark your calendars for March 17, when pre-loading begins on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.

“Our goal has always been to create not just a game, but a living world you can truly immerse yourself in,” says Dong-won Lee, COO of Pearl Abyss.

With its mix of Witcher-style storytelling, Dragon’s Dogma combat, and Zelda-like exploration, Crimson Desert is no longer just “the Black Desert prequel”—it’s a standalone behemoth that could redefine the genre.

  • The Storm Has Arrived: Shrouded Sky is Live in ARC Raiders

The Storm Has Arrived: Shrouded Sky is Live in ARC Raiders

Raiders, batten down the hatches. The latest major update for ARC Raiders, titled Shrouded Sky, is officially live as of February 24, 2026. This isn’t just a minor patch; it’s a total atmospheric shift that brings the most volatile environmental conditions we’ve seen in the Rust Belt yet.

If you haven’t dropped in since the update hit, here is everything you need to know about surviving the storm and the new threats lurking within it.

The Main Event: Hurricane Map Condition

Forget everything you know about navigating the surface. The Hurricane is now a permanent rotating map condition across Blue Gate, Buried City, Spaceport, and the Dam Battlegrounds.

    • Tactical Turbulence: The wind isn’t just a visual effect. Running with a tailwind gives you a significant speed boost, while fighting a headwind will drain your stamina and slow you to a crawl. Even your thrown items (grenades, flares) are now subject to wind trajectory.
    • Static Interference: The debris kicked up by the storm is lethal to tech. Your shields will steadily drain and glitch out if you leave them equipped for too long in the gale.
    • Low Visibility: Sound is swallowed by the wind and sightlines are cut short, making it easier to sneak up on squads—but even easier for the ARC to sneak up on you.

New ARC Threats: Fireflies and Comets

As if the weather wasn’t enough, two new ARC machines have been deployed to make your life difficult:

    1. The Firefly: An armoured flying machine that acts as a deadlier cousin to the Hornet. It emits a devastating jet of flame that can engulf a Raider in seconds.
    2. The Comet: Think of it as a “Pop” on steroids. This spherical machine honks (yes, honks) as it locks onto you, relentlessly chasing you down before detonating with a massive seismic boom.

    Seasonal Project & Progression

    • The Weather Monitoring System: A new five-stage Seasonal Player Project is available until March 31. You’ll need to brave the hurricanes to scavenge components for a monitoring system. Completion nets you 250 Raider Tokens and the exclusive Anemometer Backpack Charm.
    • The Surgeon Raider Deck: A new free progression track is now available. It includes the surgeon-inspired outfit, new cosmetic toggles, and—highly requested by the community—facial hair customisation options.

    Meta Shift: Weapon Balancing

Embark Studios has also shaken up the gunplay. Popular “low-tier” weapons that were overperforming in PvP have seen some nerfs, while legendary weapons got some much-needed love:

    • The Stitcher & Kettle: Both received damage and headshot multiplier reductions to bring their Time-to-Kill (TTK) in line with other gear.
    • The Jupiter & Aphelion: These legendary rifles received buffs to their handling and reload speeds, making them much more viable for high-stakes encounters.

    What’s Next: Expedition 2

The Second Expedition window opens today, February 25! Embark has listened to feedback regarding the grind: the required stash value for maximum rewards has been lowered to 3 million Coins (down from 5 million). Plus, if you missed out on skill points during the first Expedition, a new catch-up system allows you to earn those missed points now.

Pro-Tip: Keep an eye out for the new interactive pianos scattered around residential areas. Sometimes you just need to play a tune while the world ends around you.

Delayed but Determined: REPLACED Shifts Release to April 14th

Sad Cat Studios and Thunderful have officially announced a short delay for their highly anticipated cyberpunk action platformer, REPLACED. Originally slated for a March 12 release, the game is now scheduled to launch on April 14, 2026.

While a delay is never the news fans want to hear, the developers emphasised that the decision was made to ensure the final product lives up to the community’s high expectations.

    Key Highlights of the Announcement

    • New Release Date: April 14, 2026.
    • Reason for Delay: The team is utilising the extra four weeks for a “final layer of polish,” focusing on stability and performance based on feedback from the recent Steam demo.
    • Status of the Game: Sad Cat Studios confirmed that the game is “technically finished,” but as a small team working on their debut title, they want to ensure a “polished and stable” day-one experience.
    • The Demo is Still Live: If you haven’t played it yet, the Steam Demo remains available for those who want a taste of the gritty, 2.5D world of Phoenix-City.

    From the Developers

In a heartfelt statement, Sad Cat Studios shared:

“As a small team working on our very first title, we’ve poured everything we have into this project… Reaching this final stretch has shown us that we need just a few more weeks to ensure the experience is exactly what you deserve.”

The studio noted that the response to the Steam demo was “overwhelming in the best way possible,” and that player feedback is directly helping them make the final tweaks that will make the full game “shine.”

    What to Expect from REPLACED

For those new to the project, REPLACED is a narrative-driven 2.5D platformer set in an alternate 1980s America. You play as R.E.A.C.H., an AI trapped in a human body, fighting to survive in a world ravaged by nuclear catastrophe and corporate greed.

The game has garnered massive attention for its stunning “pixel-cinematic” art style and “free-flow” combat inspired by the Batman: Arkham series.

  • Welcome to Seashell Island: Under the Island is OUT NOW!

Welcome to Seashell Island: Under the Island is OUT NOW!

Grab your hockey stick and pack your bags—it’s time for an adventure that feels exactly like a Saturday morning in 1993. We are beyond thrilled to announce that Under the Island, the debut title from Slime King Games, has officially launched today!

Whether you’re a veteran of 16-bit classics or a newcomer looking for a world bursting with secrets, Seashell Island is ready for you. You can pick it up right now on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox.

    A Sinking Mystery Awaits

In Under the Island, you play as Nia, a plucky teenager who has just moved to a remote island with her scientist parents. Moving is hard enough, but Nia soon discovers something much worse than being the “new kid”: Seashell Island is destined to sink beneath the ocean.

Teaming up with a local girl named Avocado, you’ll explore a vibrant, interconnected world to find the ancient cogs needed to save your new home. From the frozen heights of Bran Bran Peak (where cereal is mysteriously mined) to eerie sentient greenhouses and chaotic sawmills, the island is packed with personality and peril.

    Why You’ll Love It:

    • Classic ’90s Soul: Featuring stunning pixel art by Simone Grünewald (former Art Director at Daedalic Entertainment), the game captures the “Golden Era” aesthetic with modern fluidity.
    • Player-Driven Exploration: No hand-holding here. The island is your oyster. Discover secret caves, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the mysteries of the ancient Volarians at your own pace.
    • Unconventional Combat: Forget legendary swords. Nia starts her journey with a trusty hockey stick. You’ll need to use your wits—and a variety of unique tools like animal treats, trumpets, and even a bird companion—to outsmart vomiting eggplants and tunnelling wolves.
    • Non-Linear Puzzles: Much like the classics that inspired us, the world is a giant puzzle. Finding a new item doesn’t just help you in a dungeon; it opens up shortcuts and secrets across the entire map.

“We wanted to create something that felt like the games we grew up with—titles like The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening—but with our own quirky, modern twist. It’s been a six-year journey of love, and we can’t wait for you to see what’s hidden under the island.”

  • Neva: Prologue a new paid DLC

Neva: Prologue a new paid DLC

The developers at Nomada Studio have a knack for turning heartbreak into high art. If Gris was a study in grief, Neva is a masterclass in the fierce, terrifying, and beautiful bond of parenthood and legacy.

For those who have already fallen in love with this watercolour world, the Neva: Prologue serves as a breathtaking introduction to the journey of Alba and her lupine companion. Here’s why this opening chapter is staying with players long after the screen goes dark.

    A World Painted in Emotion

Right from the opening frame, the Prologue establishes its identity. While it shares the DNA of its predecessor, Neva feels more tactile and urgent. The hand-drawn environments aren’t just backdrops; they are living, breathing entities that react to your presence.

    • The Palette: We move from the sterile, crumbling whites of a dying world into lush, vibrant forests.
    • The Soundscape: The hauntingly beautiful score by Berlinist returns, perfectly capturing the transition from serene peace to sudden, jarring shadows.

The Bond: More Than a Mechanic

In the Prologue, we meet Neva as a cub—curious, vulnerable, and occasionally stubborn. The relationship between Alba and Neva isn’t just a narrative trope; it’s baked into the gameplay.

    1. Communication: You can call out to Neva, and her reaction changes based on the environment and her mood.
    2. Protection: The Prologue sets the stakes early. You aren’t just platforming for yourself; you are constantly checking over your shoulder to ensure the cub is safe.
    3. Growth: Unlike many “escort missions” that feel like a chore, Neva feels like a partner in training. You feel her growth in every jump and every shy interaction with the world.

    The Creeping Rot

The peace of the Prologue is intentionally fragile. The introduction of the “darkness”—the black, oily entities that consume the forest—shifts the tone from a nature walk to a fight for survival. This is where we see Alba’s resolve. She isn’t just a wanderer; she is a guardian.

“The Prologue doesn’t just ask you to play a game; it asks you to care for a life that isn’t your own.”

    Why the Prologue Matters

The genius of this opening chapter lies in its restraint. It doesn’t dump lore or complex tutorials on you. Instead, it uses environmental storytelling to show you the stakes. By the time the Prologue ends, you aren’t just playing because the art is pretty; you’re playing because you’ve made a silent promise to keep Neva safe.

Neva: Prologue is a stunning reminder that video games can be a vessel for pure, unadulterated empathy. It’s a quiet beginning to what promises to be an epic, emotional crescendo.
