Fast Times at Zordix Publishing

Times are hectic over at Zordix Publishing (Link: https://www.zordixpublishing.com), the newly started publishing arm of the publicly listed Swedish game company Zordix AB. The publishing division, which was announced last summer, was the start of a time period filled with massive growth, both organically and through acquisitions made by the parent company, Zordix.

Zordix Publishing currently have six titles in their pipeline, four of which are set to release during 2020 with genres ranging from zombie action-shooters, frantic multiplayer indies and even an AA title based on one of Norway’s strongest IPs.

“We decided early on to not limit ourselves to a certain genre when it comes to the projects we work with. With such an abundance of amazing indie studios out there, we chose not to box ourselves in, but rather focus on working with studios we frankly find amazing!” says Axel Danielsson, Head of Publishing.

ZP focuses on PC and all the big consoles including Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and mainly work with smaller independent studios who often lack the resources to properly launch a game on the global markets.

“The partners we work with are amazingly creative and awesome at making games, but there’s so much more work involved if the game is going to have a decent shot at breaking through the noise. The amount of games being launched every single week is staggering, so in order to stand a chance you really need to bring your A-game. We do all the heavy lifting for our partners and provide services such as funding, porting, localization, quality assurance and a go-to-market strategy to make sure the game finds its audience.”

“The rise of digital distribution has really leveled the playing field in a lot of ways. You’re no longer forced to dish out an insane amount of money to have a massive presence at international expos – although it sure is nice when you can. Smart and effective use of digital channels can go an extremely long way, and I think that much more focus has shifted towards games that have a visual style that really gets the attention of people. The average person is served about five thousand ads per day, so having good content is truly one of the keys to success.”
