In the past as a sufferer of asthma, I can appreciate the need for help in keeping it at bay, these days for me it is not a problem but for others, this is an illness that can be a matter of life or death.
So you can see where technology can help and in this case, it is a company called Clin-e-cal who are launching a smart tech feature for asthma sufferers. They have developed two apps that could make a difference to many people.
Clin-e-cal has developed two free smartphone apps to improve asthma control, the Rafi-Tone app which helps children to take their inhaler medication as prescribed, and the Clip-Tone app, which helps adults to monitor and improve their inhaler technique. Both apps use Clin-e-cal’s unique SoundResponse® technology, which analyses sound signals from the inhaler device. The apps then provide real-time visual feedback to users on their inhalation technique, as well as tracking their adherence.
