How many times have people said that when a child is given a present sometimes they are more interested in the box than the rather more expensive gift inside. Well in order to address this Samsung has teamed up with the design magazine Dezeen to come up with a good idea on what to do with those old boxes.
One the finalists is André Cardoso his idea is sheer brilliance, once the box has successfully delivered its contents it will become a cool rocking horse, now you know that the kids are going to be interested in what the box has become, this is design at its best.
Meet Dezeen x Samsung Out of the Box Competition finalist André Cardoso and learn what inspired him to create a rocking horse for kids. Called The Rider, Cardoso designed it so that the graphic image of The Serif on the front of its Eco-Package box becomes the horse’s saddle when constructed.
The design is one of five finalists in the Dezeen x Samsung Out of the Box Competition to create environmentally-friendly household objects by repurposing cardboard packaging in an innovative way. Ideas for our environment.
