Getting Ready for Mass Effect Legendary Edition

As the release of Mass Effect Legendary edition looms, you may find yourself wanting to prepare for the highly anticipated remaster of the sci-fi classic series. Shephard and their crew of iconic characters have been one of the most recognisable and widely loved RPG groups of all time, and the idea of playing through the phenomenal trilogy in a remastered format is incredibly exciting. This article suggests a handful of ways for you to prepare for the remastered trilogy.

Play the Originals

With the imminent release of the Legendary Edition, it might sound like a weird suggestion that you take the time to play through the trilogy in their original format. However, considering Mass Effect 3 (the most recent of the titles in the Legendary Edition) is almost a decade old and the original Mass Effect is over 13 years old, there is a very good chance that you will not be revisiting the games in their original format once you’ve set in on the Legendary Edition.

You could consider a revisit of the original games as something of a farewell to their original versions, a way to end off and move on to the Legendary Edition, knowing that this playthrough, in some ways, will be your last. The Legendary Edition should, of course, include almost everything the originals did, so this step is entirely sentimental, but it may appeal to some of you.

Make Sure Your PC is Up to Scratch

Something less sentimental and more vital to your ability to play the new Mass Effect Legendary Edition is your desktop’s graphical capabilities. With Legendary Edition being regarded as mainly a major graphical overhaul, you are going to want to make sure that you can get every bit of high-res graphical goodness out of the new release, and so this might require you splashing out on one of the latest desktops available to buy online.

According to steam, the Legendary Edition recommends a 64-bit operating system, an Intel Core i7-7700 or equivalent processor, 16GB of Ram, an NVIDIA GTX 1070 or equivalent GPU, DirectX Version 11, and at least 120GB available storage space to really enjoy the game as intended. Obviously, if your desktop matches or exceeds these requirements, then you’re golden, but if your computer isn’t quite up to snuff, then you might want to consider an upgrade.

Read the Comics

Other than that, if you are really chomping at the bit for Mass Effect content but find yourself still having to wait, then you might want to consider delving into the Mass Effect comics. This series of stories set in the ME universe really brings another layer to the depth and intricacy of the game lore and should help to scratch that ME itch until the game is finally released.

Pre-order the Game

Finally (and obviously), the best way to make sure you can play the Legendary Edition ASAP is to pre-order the beauty so that it’s available to you immediately.

That should be everything; you’re all set to get stuck into the new and improved Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Hopefully, it will be everything that you and all of Mass Effect’s many fans wish it to be. Either way, with the exciting prospect of an entirely new game on the horizon, things seem to be far from over in the Mass Effect universe.
