It’s not that often that you get to mention the popular reality TV series Made in Chelsea and the development of a hybrid chemical rocket engine capable of getting to Mars in the time it currently takes, but here we are and today we are talking about the Bletchley based Pulsar Fusion Ltd.
The connection to Made in Chelsea is the company CEO, Richard Dinan you may remember him appearing in the reality series in 2012 where he showed Kimberley Garner around his business and the interesting new ideas that were in the pipeline.
Today, Richard Dinan does not look any different from back then, but his business Pulsar Fusion has its eye on space travel. Unlike other space travel entrepreneurs who are offering a few minutes of zero gravity, Richard Dinan is aiming at Mars and believes his new rocket system can do the journey in the half the time.
So the engine has been tested and the next key dates to watch out for will be;
In 2025 – nuclear fusion propulsion engines will be ready for static demonstration.
In 2027 – the nuclear fusion rocket engine will be launched and tested in orbit.
This is something that we will be keeping a very close eye on, if we can get to Mars, then long-distance space travel will become a reality rather than just a dream!
