Tactical Evolution — Insurgency: Sandstorm Unleashes Update 1.22 Operation: Echoes

The fight just got deadlier. Focus Entertainment and New World Interactive have rolled out Update 1.22: Operation: Echoes for Insurgency: Sandstorm, bringing fresh firepower, visual overhauls, and brand-new cosmetic collections to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC — available right now.

New Firepower — Free for All

Every operator gets access to brand-new submachine guns at no extra cost, adding close-quarters punch and tactical flexibility to your loadout. Whether you’re clearing tight urban streets or holding chokepoints, these new weapons bring faster handling and distinct firing characteristics that change how you approach every engagement.

The update also breathes new life into two beloved classic maps with full visual overhauls, plus the long-awaited return of two fan-favourite maps — remastered, refined, and ready for action.

4-Year Anniversary — Style on the Frontline

To celebrate four years of intense tactical combat, premium cosmetic DLC sets have arrived. These striking new gear and weapon skin collections are:

    • Included for owners of the 4-Year Anniversary Edition and Year 4 Pass
    • Available individually via the in-game store for everyone else

From rugged field gear to precision weapon finishes, each set lets you stand out on the battlefield without giving anyone an unfair advantage. It’s all style — and plenty of it.

    Still the Gold Standard

Insurgency: Sandstorm remains the benchmark for hardcore tactical FPS gameplay: no crosshair, lethal ballistics, and teamwork that truly wins fights. Whether you’re pushing through PvP or coordinating in co-op, every bullet counts — and updates like this keep the experience sharp, fresh, and fiercely rewarding.

Join the Fight — Or Return to the Front

Operation: Echoes is live across all platforms right now. If you’ve been away, there’s never been a better time to drop back in — and with the base game currently available at a steep discount on Steam, you can gear up for less than the cost of a meal.

Stay sharp, stay coordinated, and watch each other’s backs.

  • Two as One — Silk & Sorrow Descends Into a World of Discarded Dreams

Two as One — Silk & Sorrow Descends Into a World of Discarded Dreams

Beneath our feet lies everything we threw away — and everything we forgot. Snowberry Games, a two-person indie studio based in Antwerp, Belgium, has unveiled their haunting debut: Silk & Sorrow, a hand-drawn dark fantasy adventure built from the ground up exclusively for two players.

    Welcome to the Chrysalis

You and a partner step into the shoes of Silk and Sorrow — two children who stumble into the Chrysalis: a vast, hidden realm beneath our world made not of stone and soil, but of what humanity cast aside. Broken things, faded memories, abandoned emotions, and even forgotten lives have settled here, knitting together a landscape that is beautiful, eerie, and deeply dangerous.

Together, you must explore, survive, and find a way to bring light back to a realm slowly being swallowed by darkness.

    One Light, Two Fates

What makes Silk & Sorrow truly unique is how it turns trust into your most vital tool:

    • A single light source — your companion Glint, a tiny glowing grub — can only be held by one player at a time. One of you will always work in the shadows
    • Communication is survival — call out what you see, coordinate your moves, and have each other’s backs when one is blind to what lurks nearby
    • Built for two — available as both couch co-op and online co-op, designed so neither player can progress alone
    • Hand-drawn soul — every creature, backdrop, and animation is crafted frame by frame, giving the Chrysalis a living, breathing storybook beauty

Feed Glint fireflies to strengthen its glow and unlock new abilities, but never forget: the light is shared — and so is the danger.

    What Lies Ahead

Silk & Sorrow is slated to arrive on Steam in 2027, with a Chapter 1 demo planned for December 2026 so you and a friend can experience the first descent before launch.

This is more than an adventure — it’s a promise: you don’t have to face the dark alone. Wishlist now, find your partner, and prepare to bring light where it’s needed most.

  • Temptation & Treachery — Myths from the Maw Emerges From the Abyss

Temptation & Treachery — Myths from the Maw Emerges From the Abyss

Power always demands a price — and in the Maw, that price is your soul. Independent studio Half Human Games, creators of Dwerve, has lifted the lid on their haunting new project: Myths from the Maw, a dark fantasy roguelike tactical RPG where every bargain, sacrifice, and temptation risks corrupting your mercenaries beyond recognition.

The reveal trailer has just dropped, and the Kickstarter pre-launch page is open now — ready to welcome you into the depths.

    Descend Into the Starfallen Fortress

The Maw is no ordinary dungeon — it’s a colossal fortress that fell from the heavens, brimming with alien gods, eldritch terrors, and rival warbands all hungry for power. You lead a band of mercenaries on perilous expeditions into its depths, facing not just swords and sorcery, but something far more insidious: corruption.

Alien gods offer you strength — but you must pay in blood. Sacrifice your own vitality at their altars to claim Bloodmarks, blessings themed around the seven deadly sins that supercharge your abilities. Combine them into devastating synergies, fill your Bloodthirst Meter to unleash an unholy frenzy, and tear through your foes… but watch your step.

    When Power Turns to Ruin

Here’s the twist: sin changes your people. Every sacrifice, every greedy grab, every moment of pride adds to their corruption. As it builds, your mercenaries begin to act out — hoarding loot, disobeying orders, making choices that benefit themselves over the group. Let it go too far, and they won’t just fail you — they’ll abandon you entirely, joining the Cult of the Maw and returning as enemies in future runs.

It’s a cycle of power and peril inspired by Dante’s Inferno — where the strongest temptations carry the highest costs.

Tactics That Test More Than Skill

Combat itself is as unforgiving as the moral choices:

    • The Battle Clock — every action consumes time; strike now or position for a deadlier blow later
    • Hazardous environments — knock enemies into saws, tentacles, and volatile explosives
    • Conditions stack — burn, bleed, poison, and blind turn even a strong foe into a fleeting threat
    • No two runs the same — procedural maps, evolving corruption, and branching stories keep every descent fresh

    Wishlist Now, Back Soon

Myths from the Maw is heading to Steam and is available to wishlist immediately. The full Kickstarter campaign launches in early 2027 — follow the pre-launch page today so you don’t miss a moment of the journey.

Will you lead your band through the darkness… or will the Maw claim them all?

  • Beat the Devil at His Own Game — The Killing Stone Hits 1.0 Oct 21, Expands to Consoles & Epic Games Store

Beat the Devil at His Own Game — The Killing Stone Hits 1.0 Oct 21, Expands to Consoles & Epic Games Store

The wait is nearly over — and the Devil’s days are numbered. Independent studio Question, the acclaimed creators behind The Blackout Club and The Magic Circle, have announced that their atmospheric occult horror deckbuilder The Killing Stone will officially leave Early Access and launch as version 1.0 on October 21, arriving simultaneously on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

From Early Access to the Full Reckoning

First released in Early Access back in February, The Killing Stone has grown and evolved alongside its passionate community of players. The team at Question spent these months refining every aspect of the experience — balancing card decks, expanding optional questlines, smoothing out the bargaining mechanics, and layering in even more narrative depth based on direct player feedback.

The big news with 1.0? Chapter Four: The Reckoning — the climactic, concluding chapter that ties together every choice, bargain, and deck you’ve built across the first three acts. Now you’ll face the ultimate test: taking everything you’ve learned and crafted to outwit the Devil himself and lift the ancient curse haunting the Svangård family.

A Bargain You Won’t Want to Miss

The Killing Stone casts you as a Maven — a master of the dark arts — negotiating with demons for the souls of a cursed 17th-century clan. It blends rich, first-person exploration of a remote Arctic mansion with tense, tactical card battles on a living ceremonial board. Key highlights include:

    • A novel Reserve System that lets you stack units and spells for strategic deployment
    • Dual-language storytelling — play in period-perfect 17th-century English or modern prose
    • Star-studded voice talent including Emma Gregory (Baldur’s Gate 3) and Liam O’Brien (Critical Role)
    • Multiple endings shaped by your choices — no two playthroughs unfold the same way
    • Hand-painted visuals and haunting soundscapes that wrap you in the era’s eerie beauty

    Everywhere You Want to Play

October 21 marks the full release across the board:

    • Steam — 1.0 launch, concluding the Early Access journey
    • Epic Games Store — brand-new PC arrival
    • PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S — native console editions launching alongside the PC 1.0 release

Priced at $19.99, the full release also includes all the polish, balance, and extra content shaped by months of community input. As narrative director Jordan Thomas puts it: “Our intrepid Early Access community asked for more devious cards, a richer story, and choices that truly matter — and we’ve worked to make their dark wishes come true.”

The Reckoning draws near. Will you cleanse the Svangård name… or lose your soul in the bargain? Wishlist now so you don’t miss the showdown.

  • Good Boy! — Award-Winning Hubert Finally Launches on Steam

Good Boy! — Award-Winning Hubert Finally Launches on Steam

He waited an extra couple of days, but he’s worth it. Brocap Studio is thrilled to announce that Hubert — winner of Best Game at Game Access 2026 — is officially out now on Steam!

The Fluffy Hero We’ve All Been Waiting For

Hubert isn’t just any shepherd dog — he’s overconfident, endlessly curious, and sees the world through scent, movement, and pure instinct rather than just sight. Alongside his partner Lily, a sharp-witted young girl who gave him his big break, you’ll herd a delightfully chaotic flock of sheep, follow your nose across rugged northern landscapes, and answer the call of the wilderness beyond the farm.

The journey to launch has been quite the adventure itself:

    • Best Game winner at Game Access 2026
    • Showcased at Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show
    • Over 80,000 Steam wishlists and counting
    • A brief two-day delay while Steam reviewed the build — making the eager pupper wait just a little longer than planned

But today, the wait is over. His herding career officially begins right now.

    Why Everyone’s Falling for Hubert

What makes Hubert stand out from the pack is how it puts you squarely in a dog’s world. Scent-tracking guides you through hidden paths; instinct shapes how you read the land; and every interaction feels like something only Hubert would do. It’s warm, funny, heartfelt, and genuinely unlike anything else you’ll play this year.

From herding stubborn sheep on the farm to venturing deeper into untamed territory, this is a story about friendship, courage, and — as the team charmingly puts it — “a dog barking at sheep”.

The PS5 version isn’t far behind either, with a release date to be announced shortly.

Go give this very good boy the welcome he deserves — Hubert is out now on Steam

  • Roll the Dice, Beat the Odds — Jinx It Turns Bad Luck Into Victory

Roll the Dice, Beat the Odds — Jinx It Turns Bad Luck Into Victory

Ever felt like luck just isn’t on your side? Brazilian indie developer Manabrew Studios and publisher Odd Loop Games are turning that idea right on its head with Jinx It — a brand-new hand-drawn roguelike dicebuilder heading to PC via Steam.

When You Bet Your Life and Lose

Jinx It drops you into a wonderfully whimsical, rubber-hose animated world filled with strange tables, down-on-their-luck characters, and matches where the stakes couldn’t be higher. The story begins with a crushing defeat: you bet everything against Jinx, the Unlucky One — and lost. But this isn’t where your story ends. To earn your shot at a rematch, you must fight your way back to his table, facing every gambler who dared to challenge him and fell short.

Every opponent you meet has their own grudge, their own style of play, and their own tricks — and they’re all standing between you and the one who took it all.

Roll, Forge, Conquer — Dicebuilding Reimagined

This isn’t your average game of chance. Jinx It blends dice manipulation with deep strategy and endless variety:

    • Roll smart — arrange your results into Straights and Sets, where a single die can fuel multiple scoring combinations at once
    • Forge your perfect dice — change faces, adjust weights, add bonuses, and unlock Legendary upgrades to craft truly broken builds
    • Stack your luck — collect Lucky Charms, visit the Seer, and choose Blessings to shift fortune firmly in your favour
    • 50+ unique dice, 100+ Charms, 10 distinct Tables, and 17 boss encounters mean no two runs ever play the same way

Each gambler across the table fights back with escalating powers, forcing you to adapt your strategy on the fly. Their Rage builds round by round — so as you get stronger, so do they.

    Hand-Drawn Heart, Brazilian Soul

With charming hand-drawn visuals inspired by classic rubber-hose animation, Jinx It brings its cast of misfortunate characters and surreal tables to life with bags of personality. Fully localised into English plus 11 additional languages, it’s built to welcome players everywhere — and the team at Manabrew Studios and Odd Loop Games are proud to bring this distinctly Brazilian creation to the global stage.

Jinx It is coming soon to Steam — wishlist it now so you don’t miss your turn. The house might have won the first round, but you’ve got everything you need to flip the odds.

  • Never Say Die — Gunnheim: Remastered Rises From the Ashes

Never Say Die — Gunnheim: Remastered Rises From the Ashes

There’s a golden rule in Gunnheim: if you go down while playing alone, you can get back on your feet — by landing a kill. Turns out one of the original developers took that rule personally.

A decade after the Viking co-op shooter first arrived, the last remaining member of the team has brought it back stronger than ever. Joni Häkkinen — original dev and now the entire staff at Finnish studio SIEIDI — has poured his energy into rebuilding the game from the ground up, and Gunnheim: Remastered is here.

What’s Changed? Everything Old Is New Again

This isn’t just a fresh coat of paint — it’s a full resurrection:

    • 31 completely rebuilt levels, redesigned for flow, balance and fun
    • 21 rebalanced weapons, so every axe, bow and hammer feels deadly and distinct
    • Run-changing boons that reward different playstyles and keep every run feeling fresh
    • Drop-in co-op for up to four players — online, local couch, or mix-and-match both at once

“Gunnheim was always meant to be played together, so naturally I remade it alone,” says Häkkinen, in a wry nod to the solo labour of love.

    A Sacred Return

SIEIDI — whose name roughly translates to “a sacred place” in Sámi — was founded in 2014, and Häkkinen is the last of the original crew still standing. He’s kept the spirit alive, honouring everything the team built while refining and polishing it into the definitive edition they always wanted to make.

Whether you’re a long-time Zerker or stepping into the frozen realms for the first time, Gunnheim: Remastered delivers fast-paced, furious Viking action that’s just as satisfying solo as it is with friends. And if you fall? You know what to do — get back up and make it count.

Gunnheim: Remastered is out now on Steam.
