Denshattack will launch on PC and consoles in June

Ever wonder what would happen if a Shinkansen train decided it was tired of the morning commute and wanted to enter a Tony Hawk competition instead?

Spanish developer Undercoders and publisher Fireshine Games clearly did. The result is Denshattack!, a high-octane “train-skating” action game that is easily one of the most stylish titles on our 2026 radar.

Forget everything you know about rail safety; here’s why this off-the-rails arcade racer needs to be on your wishlist.

The Concept: Tony Hawk’s Pro Shinkansen

Set in a vibrant, dystopian future Japan, Denshattack! puts you in the driver’s seat of a customised, gravity-defying train. But you aren’t just trying to arrive on time. You are part of a rebel movement fighting back against the Miraid? megacorporation, which has walled off the wealthy in domed cities, leaving the rest of the world to fend for itself in the “undomed” wastelands.

The gameplay is a brilliant mashup of Jet Set Radio’s aesthetic and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’s trick system. You’ll be:

Kick-flipping multi-ton train cars.

Grinding along power lines and crumbling tracks.

Drifting through corners to avoid derailing at terminal velocity.

Battling rival gangs and massive corporate bosses (think weaponised castles on wheels).

The Vibes are Immaculate

If the screenshots haven’t sold you, the soundtrack will. Undercoders has recruited a dream team for the audio, led by Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge) and legendary composer Richard Jacques. It’s a “Dreamcast-core” explosion of funk, breakbeats, and J-pop energy that keeps the momentum high as you scream through over 50 levels of neon-soaked cities and volcanic landscapes.

Launch Details: When can you play?

During the latest Nintendo Indie World Showcase, it was officially confirmed that Denshattack! is pulling into the station on June 17, 2026.

The game is launching on virtually every major platform, including a highly anticipated version for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Pro Tip: If you can’t wait until June, there is currently an extended demo available on Steam and the Switch 2 eShop. It features four stages and a dedicated “Trick Park” to help you master your rail-grinding skills before the full release.

Denshattack! looks like the perfect remedy for anyone bored with generic “games-as-a-service” titles. It’s loud, it’s fast, and it’s gloriously weird.
