The fight intensifies. Infinity Ward and Activision have officially unveiled Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, the game’s first major free content update, dropping globally on Friday 6 November 2026 — and it’s bringing fresh battlegrounds, fan-favourite modes, and an all-new DMZ exclusion zone to master.

New Multiplayer Maps — Deploy November 6

Three distinct 6v6 maps lead the charge at launch:

• Backstab — A war-torn, snow-battered town with abandoned tanks, ruined buildings, and layered sightlines mixing long-range streets and tight, close-quarters interiors. Control the stronghold roof or fight through the wreckage below.
• Canyon — Towering rock walls frame this rugged battlefield. Ambush along the river, take the winding cliff path, or hold the high ground — every route changes the engagement.
• Shoot House (Reimagined) — The fan-favourite returns, now set against snowfall in North Korea with updated terrain and fresh visual detail while keeping the fast, frantic layout you love.

Coming Mid-Season: Two more maps — Ministry, set in and around a diplomatic summit building, and Overflow, a sprawling industrial-and-farmland map — plus additional classified locations.

Modes — Classics Return, New Ways to Fight

Launch day brings:

• Grind — Eliminate enemies, collect their dog tags, and bank them for team points. Fast, chaotic, and deeply addictive.
• Drop Zone — Teams battle to hold a rotating objective; secure it and periodic Killstreak airdrops turn the tide.
• Gauntlet 1v1 — Prove your skill in a winner-stays-on showdown as part of the Wager Match Event.

Pre-season action kicks off early:

• Possession — 29 October: Kills instantly teleport you to your victim’s location — chase and be chased.
• Infected — 30 October: The classic survival scramble returns for Halloween.

Mid-season:Counter Attack — Detonate enemy comms stations while defending your own — and more still to be revealed.

X01 — The All-New DMZ Exclusion Zone

Deep within a formerly secret Russian weapons facility lies X01, a compact, high-stakes DMZ exclusion zone waiting to be explored.

• Loot rare gear, uncover classified intel, and face specialised threats within its restricted corridors
• Two new Operators — XERO and Blix — join your roster
• Fresh objectives, survival kits, and unlockable blueprints reward every successful extraction
