Meet Gonzalo and Azzar

In this quirky platform adventure, players take control of Gonzalo, a flightless (but surprisingly agile) chicken. He isn’t alone, however. He’s joined by Azzar, a talkative, retrievable bomb who serves as Gonzalo’s primary weapon and puzzle-solving tool.

The bond between a bird and its bomb is the core of the gameplay. You’ll be clucking, chucking, and blowing things up to navigate a world abandoned by an “ancient creator.”

Key Gameplay Features

• The Boom Factor: Feed Azzar “bomb goo” to trigger explosive mutations. You can upgrade him with Fire, Homing, and Sticky abilities to dismantle the “Crocogator” army.
• Ridiculous Movement: Master the “flap” to extend jumps, use ground pounds to clear crowds, and dodge-dive to cross treacherous gaps.
• A Low-Poly Wonderland: Explore vibrant, stylised environments including the crab-infested Claw Island and the mystical forests of Noxglade.
• The Breakfast Menu: For the completionists, searching for secret eggs and coins allows you to unlock game-altering settings that transform the experience.

The Team Behind the Beak

Whaleplane Studios is a two-man “dynamic duo” consisting of long-time friends Jeremy and Jake. What started as a small hobby project in 2020 has evolved over six years into a polished indie title.

“We have always aspired to make great games that we have fun playing ourselves, and we’ve had a blast with Gonzalo the Chicken,” says the team.

The game also features an original soundtrack by composer Anders, designed to heighten the tension as you face off against massive bosses and hordes of scaly enemies.
