Survive the night. Defend the line. Watch the sun rise. PUBG Studios and co-developers PCF Group (People Can Fly) have officially lifted the lid on SLB: Dawnbreakers of Rondo — Episode 4 of the Survivors Left Behind saga — a pulse-pounding, co-op PvE defence experience landing on PC: 14 Oct – 4 Nov and Console: 22 Oct – 12 Nov. Here’s everything you need to know before the darkness falls.
What Is Dawnbreakers of Rondo?
Building on the fan-favourite Survivors Left Behind framework, Dawnbreakers of Rondo drops you and your squad onto the vibrant Rondo map for a desperate, night-long stand against mutated hordes known as the Hungers. Your mission is simple in premise, brutal in practice: hold key positions through escalating waves until dawn breaks.
This is not your standard battle royale. It’s all-out PvE survival defence — crafted in partnership with PCF Group to deliver deeper tactical depth, revamped mechanics, and a darker, deadlier night.
“The night is darker. The Hungers have changed. Survive till dawn.” — Official PUBG announcement
New Foes — The Evolved Hungers
The familiar Hungers return, but with three brand-new variants designed to test even the tightest squads:
- Faster, deadlier baseline enemies — the longer the night wears on, the stronger they grow
- Three distinct new Hunger types with unique behaviours, attack patterns, and weaknesses
- Escalating difficulty — waves intensify as the match progresses; survive the final push and you earn your sunrise
New Firepower — Turn the Tide
Defence means nothing without teeth. Dawnbreakers brings three game-changing tools to level the playing field:
| Weapon | Role | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Flamethrower | Area denial, crowd control | Incinerate swarms; hold chokepoints with searing walls of fire |
| Sentry Gun | Automated defence | Deploy and forget — until it needs reloading or repair |
| Grenade Launcher | Heavy crowd suppression | Clear clusters; break encirclements with explosive force |
Complement these with a full crafting system — scavenge materials across Rondo to build barbed wire, healing stations, light/heavy/manned turrets, and more. Every scrap counts.
How to Play — Stand Together, or Fall Alone

Why It Matters
Survivors Left Behind has become one of PUBG’s most successful experimental modes, bridging battle royale tension with pure, squad-focused co-op action. Dawnbreakers represents the series’ most ambitious leap yet — bigger map, deadlier threats, deeper crafting, and the polished combat pedigree of PCF Group behind it.
Whether you’re diving in for the Event Pass, teaming up to crush the horde, or just chasing that glorious sunrise — remember the golden rule: no one survives alone.
“Hold the line until dawn breaks.”
