Survival is Better with Friends: ZERO Sievert 2 Announced!

The wasteland of Zakov just got a whole lot more crowded—and potentially more survivable. Today, publisher Modern Wolf officially pulled back the curtain on ZERO Sievert 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the cult-hit indie extraction shooter.

While the original ZERO Sievert won hearts with its brutal, solitary atmosphere and “one more run” gameplay loop, the sequel is leaning into the community’s most-requested feature: Online Co-op.

A New Developer, A New Vision

The original game was famously the solo project of Luca Carbonera (CABO Studio). For the sequel, Carbonera has partnered with Underdog, a new London-based studio comprised of industry veterans from Splash Damage (famed for Gears Tactics and Dirty Bomb).

This partnership aims to combine the hardcore extraction DNA of the first game with professional multiplayer expertise. As Carbonera put it, “Underdog understands what made the first game work, and they have the multiplayer experience to take it somewhere I could not have taken it alone.”

What’s New in ZERO Sievert 2?

The sequel isn’t just the first game with a “join” button; it’s a significant evolution of the Zakov experience.

    • 4-Player Co-op: Squad up with up to three friends. Experience shared loot, tactical flanking, and the collective panic of a botched extraction.
    • Evolved Visuals: The game has shifted to a polished 2.5D art style. While it retains the top-down perspective, the added depth and detail bring the grim environments to life like never before.
    • Relics and Anomalies: A new “Relics” system introduces powerful objects found near anomalies. These grant passive bonuses and active abilities but come with a risk: push them too far, and they might trigger a Catastrophic Failure.
    • Mastery Systems: Players can now progress through Weapon Mastery (improving efficiency with specific gun classes) and Map Mastery (becoming more attuned to the dangers of specific zones).

    The Road to Early Access

Modern Wolf and Underdog have confirmed that ZERO Sievert 2 will launch into Steam Early Access first.

The initial launch is expected to feature two fully playable locations representing the game’s first act, complete with NPCs, main quests, and a variety of side content. The developers are targeting an approximately 8-month Early Access period, with major content drops planned every two months.

Note for fans of the original: Don’t worry about the first game! Modern Wolf has clarified that ZERO Sievert 1 will continue to receive support and updates even as development on the sequel ramps up.

    Wishlist Now

ZERO Sievert 2 is currently available to wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Whether you’re a veteran Hunter or a newcomer looking for a less “toxic” alternative to PvP-heavy extraction shooters, Zakov is calling.

  • Dive Back In: Subnautica 2 Hits Early Access on May 14th

Dive Back In: Subnautica 2 Hits Early Access on May 14th

Pack your oxygen tanks and prepare for a cold descent. Unknown Worlds has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel, Subnautica 2, will launch into Early Access on May 14, 2026.

After months of speculation and some well-documented “corporate turbulence” behind the scenes, the wait for the next chapter in the ocean survival saga is nearly over. The game will be available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S, including a Day One release on Xbox Game Pass.

    What’s New in the Depths?

While the original Subnautica was a solitary (and often terrifying) experience, the sequel is widening its horizons. Here is what we know about the Early Access launch:

    • Optional 4-Player Co-op: For the first time, you don’t have to face the Leviathans alone. You can team up with up to three friends to build bases and explore together.
    • A Brand New World: Forget Planet 4546B. We are heading to an entirely new alien ocean filled with diverse biomes, strange new creatures, and deeper mysteries.
    • New Tech & Vehicles: The trailer showcased the “Tadpole” submersible, a nimble new way to navigate the tight corridors of the deep.
    • The “Cicada” Incident: The story kicks off with the crash of the colony ship Cicada. You’ll be taking orders from a ship AI that seems… a little too determined to complete the mission, regardless of the danger.

    Pricing and Development

Unknown Worlds is sticking to its roots with an “open development” cycle. The game will launch at a reduced Early Access price of $29.99 (£25.99 / €29.99).

Pro Tip: If you buy in now, you get the full game and all future updates (including the eventual 1.0 release) without paying more later.

The developers have been candid: this is the start of a 2-to-3-year journey. Expect bugs, performance tweaks, and plenty of “work-in-progress” labels as the community helps shape the final product.

A Bit of Drama Behind the Scenes

It’s worth noting that this announcement follows a significant legal victory for the developers. After a public dispute with parent company Krafton, CEO Ted Gill was recently reinstated by court order. The May 14 release date represents a major “win” for the studio’s original vision, allowing them to launch on their own terms.

  • Back to the Wasteland: Ziggurat Interactive Revives KKnD with Massive Updates

Back to the Wasteland: Ziggurat Interactive Revives KKnD with Massive Updates

Retro strategy fans, it’s time to polish your power armour and feed your giant scorpions. Ziggurat Interactive has just dropped a bombshell for fans of 90s grit: the legendary Krush Kill ‘N Destroy (KKnD) series is getting its first major technical overhaul in nearly two decades.

In a move that proves good RTS games never truly die—they just mutate—the publisher has teamed up with renowned community modder Andre ‘IceReaper’ Mohren to bring Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme and KKnD2: Krossfire into the modern era.

    Modern Warfare, Classic Grit

For those who missed the original carnage, KKnD was the “Mad Max” of the RTS golden age. While Command & Conquer was polished and StarCraft was sci-fi chic, KKnD was loud, crude, and unapologetically difficult. You battled for the world’s last oil reserves using a mix of traditional tanks, mutated giant insects, and vengeful agricultural robots.

The upcoming updates aren’t just minor bug fixes; they are a fundamental restoration of the series.

    What’s New in the Update?

Ziggurat isn’t just slapping a “remastered” sticker on the box. Here is the breakdown of the major features coming to Steam and GOG:

    • Online PvP Multiplayer: For the first time in years, you can settle old grudges. The update adds modern online matchmaking to both titles.
    • 4K Support & Modern Resolutions: The wasteland has never looked so crisp. Expect support for higher resolutions and widescreen displays.
    • Enhanced Modding: The KKnD2 map editor is being updated for 64-bit compatibility, making it easier for the community to keep the game alive.
    • Restored Audio: Original HD sound effects are being brought back to ensure every explosion and mutant screech hits as hard as it did in 1997.
    • Quality of Life: New launchers for easy setting tweaks, fixes for long-standing crash bugs, and improved Steam Deck/Linux support via Proton.

    The Rollout Plan

If you already own the games on Steam or GOG, there’s great news: these updates will be completely free. However, if you haven’t picked them up yet, you might want to act fast. Ziggurat has confirmed that as the Open Beta begins in May 2026, the price for each game will increase from $6.99 to $9.99 to reflect the new features.

    Key Dates to Remember:

    • May 2026: Open Beta begins for all owners of the games.
    • June 2026: Full release of the updates on Steam and GOG.

    Why This Matters

In an era of “live service” fatigue, seeing a publisher invest back into a 29-year-old franchise is a win for game preservation. By working directly with a community modder, Ziggurat is ensuring that the soul of the game remains intact while fixing the technical hurdles that made the original versions a nightmare to run on Windows 11.

Whether you’re a Survivor, an Evolved, or a Series 9 robot, the battle for the oil fields is about to get a lot more interesting.

Are you ready to jump back into the radioactive dust, or is this RTS relic better left in the vaults? Let us know in the comments!

  • Arrakis Evolves: Dune: Awakening Update 1.4 Arrives May 19

Arrakis Evolves: Dune: Awakening Update 1.4 Arrives May 19

The sands of Arrakis are shifting once again. Funcom has officially announced that Update 1.4 for Dune: Awakening is set to arrive on May 19, 2026.

Since its launch in June 2025, the open-world survival MMO has undergone a massive transformation, moving from a hardcore PvP-focused desert to a more flexible, player-driven experience. Update 1.4 continues this trend, focusing on system refinements and new endgame challenges.

    New Locations & Missions

Update 1.4 expands the Overland Map with two significant new areas designed to test even the most seasoned survivors:

    • Wind Pass: An old Harkonnen tech hub. This location serves as a base of operations for the Water Shippers, a ruthless dynasty controlling the planet’s most precious resource.
    • The Old Quarry Testing Station: A new scalable endgame area. Here, players will encounter the devious Dr. Jalanta in a secret laboratory. The “scalable” nature suggests the difficulty—and rewards—will adjust based on your group size and progression.
    • Landsraad Missions: New missions are being added to the Landsraad system, further fleshing out the political and economic endgame loops introduced in the Chapter 3 overhaul earlier this year.

    The Water Wars DLC

Launching alongside the free update is The Water Wars DLC, the final instalment of the game’s current Season Pass. While the gameplay updates are free for everyone, this paid content ($9.99 / £8.50) is for the architects of Arrakis:

    • Themed Building Pieces: New construction assets based on the industrial, brutalist aesthetic of the Water Shippers.
    • Exclusive Cosmetics: New outfits and skins to show your allegiance (or at least your wealth) in the trade of “The Life.”

    A Shift in Strategy

Notably, Funcom has stated that Update 1.4 will not include new story content. In a move that mirrors recent developer transparency, the team explained that they are prioritising “highly requested systems that enhance player agency.”

This follows the massive Update 1.3.20, which introduced a massive shift by making PvP in the Deep Desert fully optional. By doubling down on endgame systems like the Testing Stations and Landsraad missions, Funcom is clearly aiming to solidify the game’s long-term loop before dropping the next major story chapter.

“We want to ensure the foundations of Arrakis are rock solid before we lead players into the next chapter of the narrative,” Funcom noted in their recent livestream.

    What’s Next for Dune: Awakening?

While PC players are getting the lion’s share of the love right now, console fans shouldn’t feel left out. Funcom remains on track for a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release later in 2026.

If you’ve been away from the desert for a few months, May 19 looks like the perfect time to call your ornithopter and head back to the dunes. Between the recent PvP changes and the new endgame scaling, Arrakis is becoming a much more approachable, yet deeper, survival experience.

  • KIBORG: Descent — The Cybernetic Meat Grinder Just Got Deeper

KIBORG: Descent — The Cybernetic Meat Grinder Just Got Deeper

If you thought Morgan Lee’s 1,300-year sentence was a rough ride, think again. Sobaka Studio has officially released KIBORG: Descent, the first major paid DLC for the 2025 sleeper hit that redefined “brutal” for the roguelite genre.

Launching exactly one year after the base game’s debut, Descent isn’t just a victory lap—it’s a deep dive into the darkest corners of the Omega-201 prison planet. Here is everything you need to know about the latest expansion to the high-octane, cybernetic brawler.

Back Into the Breach: The Story

The cycle of violence continues. After surviving the televised carnage of “The Last Ticket,” Morgan Lee finds himself lured into the forgotten depths of the Omega-201 tower. The DLC introduces the KENKOU factory—a rusted, abandoned industrial nightmare—and the Flooded Ruins, which hint at a civilisation that predates the prison itself.

    What’s New in the Descent?

Sobaka Studio hasn’t held back on the content. Descent expands the “build, break, repeat” loop with significant additions:

    • 10+ New Enemy Types: From nimble mechanical horrors to heavy-hitting industrial droids, the variety of fodder for your cybernetic fists has exploded.
    • Three Legendary Bosses: Including the long-awaited showdown with Volkov, a confrontation fans have been itching for since the base game launched.
    • The Abyss of Challenge: For those who found the original game too “forgiving,” two new difficulty levels have been added. The AI is smarter, the traps are more devious, and your margin for error is razor-thin.
    • New Arsenal: The DLC introduces new melee weapons—including a fan-favourite chainsaw—and fresh implants to further customise your build.

A Massive Milestone for Sobaka Studio

The release of Descent also marks a shift for the developers. Following the successful independent launch of KIBORG in 2025, Sobaka Studio has moved toward a self-publishing model.

“After KIBORG’s launch last year, we knew we didn’t push Morgan Lee hard enough,” says Dmitry Kachkov, Head of Sobaka Studio. “Descent throws new locations and challenges for inmates of all skillsets to overcome.”

    Launch Details & Discounts

To celebrate the one-year anniversary and the DLC launch, Sobaka is offering some serious incentives for new and returning players:

    ItemPlatformLaunch Price (approx.)
    KIBORG: Descent DLCPC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S£6.99 / $8.99 (10% Launch Discount)
    KIBORG (Base Game)All Platforms35% Off

Note: The DLC launch is accompanied by a massive free update for all players, adding quality-of-life improvements, performance fixes, and re-voiced dialogue for key characters.

    The Verdict

If you enjoyed the kinetic, crunchy combat of the original, Descent is a no-brainer. It doubles down on the “cyber-action” aesthetic while providing enough fresh mechanical depth to justify a return to the grind.

KIBORG: Descent is out now on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.

  • The Force is Strong with new Star Wars Games coming to Fortnite

The Force is Strong with new Star Wars Games coming to Fortnite

The Force isn’t just strong with Fortnite this year; it’s practically taking over the entire island. While we’ve grown accustomed to the annual May the 4th lightsaber duels and Stormtrooper sightings, 2026 is marking a massive shift in the partnership between Epic Games and Disney.

Starting May 1st, Fortnite is transforming into the ultimate Star Wars hub, launching a massive wave of new games and experiences built directly within the platform. Here is everything you need to know about the jump to lightspeed.

    Three Massive New Game Modes

Epic has moved beyond simple “crossovers.” This year, they’ve partnered with top-tier creative studios to launch three distinct Star Wars games within the Fortnite ecosystem:

    • Galactic Siege (Island Code: 5003-9856-3648): Developed with JOGO Studios, this is a massive 10v10 class-based PvP battle. If you’ve ever wanted to take part in large-scale planetary skirmishes across the Star Wars universe using Fortnite’s mechanics, this is your frontline.
    • Escape Vader (Island Code: 7285-4185-5428): A 4-player co-op horror/survival experience created by Beyond Creative. You’re trapped on the Death Star, and Lord Vader is hunting you. It features first-person support for a truly terrifying perspective of the Sith Lord.
    • Droid Tycoon (Island Code: 7865-8305-9184): For those who prefer building over battling, this management game lets you run your own droid workshop, using authentic Star Wars blueprints to manufacture everything from Astromechs to Protocol droids.

The Mandalorian & Grogu: Exclusive Sneak Peek

The collaboration isn’t just about the games—it’s also about the big screen. With the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu film hitting cinemas on May 22nd, Fortnite is hosting an exclusive Watch Party Island on May 19th.

Players who visit the island can:

    • Watch a 10-minute world-exclusive preview of the movie.
    • Hear a special message from director Jon Favreau.
    • Complete bounty-hunting missions on Nevarro to unlock the Mandalorian Sanctuary loading screen.

LEGO Fortnite Gets a Galactic Glow-up

Don’t think the survival-crafters were forgotten. On May 14th, LEGO Fortnite receives its own dedicated Star Wars update. Expect to see the Hover Brick for building custom speeders, new LEGO versions of Mando and Grogu, and Star Wars-themed enemies invading your LEGO worlds.

    The “Clone Wars” Are Back

Leakers have been busy, and the shop is set to be legendary. We are finally getting Clone Wars-era versions of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. These skins reflect their iconic animated looks, adding to the massive library of Star Wars cosmetics already in the game.

TechMash Pro Tip: Don’t forget to link your Epic Games account with your MyDisney account before October 31, 2026, to snag the Carbonite Fishstick Back Bling for free!

    Why This Matters

This isn’t just another collab; it’s the debut of the Star Wars UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) toolkit. By giving creators official assets—from X-wings and TIE Fighters to authentic Force powers and sound effects—Epic is essentially turning Fortnite into a platform for infinite Star Wars games.

Whether you’re racing tauntauns on Hoth or running a cantina on Tatooine, the galaxy has never felt closer.

  • The Galaxy’s Real Estate Battle Begins: Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains

The Galaxy’s Real Estate Battle Begins: Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains

If you thought your last family game of Monopoly was intense, wait until you add a lightsaber to the mix. Ubisoft and Hasbro have officially pulled back the curtain on Monopoly: Star Wars™ Heroes vs. Villains, and it is far more than just a fresh coat of paint on the 89-year-old classic.

Launching on June 11, 2026, this digital adaptation is ditching the “everyone for themselves” grind for a high-stakes, team-based tactical showdown. Whether you’re fighting for the light side or embracing the dark, the way you play Monopoly is about to change forever.

A New Way to Play: Teams and Tactics

Forget buying up Mayfair and sitting on it. In Heroes vs. Villains, the game is built around 2v2 and 3v3 competitive modes. You’ll work with your teammates to secure iconic locations from every era of the Star Wars saga—from the Ewok Village to the Jedi Temple.

    • Roster of Legends: Choose from 28 iconic characters, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, and Darth Maul.
    • Unique Abilities: There are 14 unique character abilities in total. How you pair your heroes (or villains) will be the difference between galactic dominance and a quick trip to the spice mines.
    • Dice Battles: Landing on the same tile as an opponent no longer means just paying rent. It triggers a Dice Battle, a strategic mini-game to determine who actually keeps control of the location.

    Cinematic Galactic Conquest

Ubisoft has gone all out on the presentation. The board features 22 locations rendered as unique 3D dioramas. When you move across the board, expect “cinematic moments” and dynamic GO events that can flip the state of the game in a single turn.

The game also features a progression system with in-game missions, rewards, and a mountain of unlockable cosmetics to ensure your team looks the part while bankrupting the opposition.

    Release Date and Pre-order Bonuses

Monopoly: Star Wars™ Heroes vs. Villains lands on June 11, 2026, across almost every platform imaginable:

    • Consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (including the new Switch 2)
    • PC: Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Store
    • Cloud: GeForce NOW

Pro Tip: If you pre-order now, you’ll unlock two exclusive in-game dice skins: the Jawa-inspired skin and the Imperial Stormtrooper skin. (Though, if the Stormtrooper dice are anything like their namesakes, don’t expect them to hit the numbers you’re aiming for.)

Whether you’re a casual fan or a hardcore strategist, this looks like the “one more round” game we’ve been waiting for. Dust off your robes, pick your side, and prepare to pass GO… or die trying.

  • DON’T NOD Takes Us to the Edge of the Solar System with Aphelion – Out Now!

DON’T NOD Takes Us to the Edge of the Solar System with Aphelion – Out Now!

The masters of narrative storytelling at DON’T NOD (the team behind Life is Strange and Jusant) have officially launched their latest venture into the stars. Aphelion is available today on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

If you’ve been looking for a sci-fi experience that prioritises atmosphere and emotion over mindless shooting, this collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) might be your next obsession.

Survival at the Edge of Reason

Set in the 2060s, Aphelion follows astronauts Ariane and Thomas on the Hope-01 mission. Their goal? To survey Persephone, a mysterious ninth planet at the edge of our solar system that could be humanity’s last hope for survival.

Things, as they usually do in deep space, go sideways. After a catastrophic crash landing, the duo is separated on a frozen, shifting world. You’ll need to navigate a landscape that is as beautiful as it is lethal, all while being stalked by a terrifying, unknown lifeform known as the Nemesis.

    Dual-Perspective Gameplay

The game offers a unique “dual-perspective” mechanic that keeps the pacing fresh:

    • Ariane: Focuses on high-stakes parkour, traversal, and momentum-driven movement across treacherous ice cliffs and chasms.
    • Thomas: Injured in the crash, his segments are more grounded, focusing on survival, investigation, and using his wits to solve environmental puzzles.

    Realism Meets Sci-Fi Horror

What sets Aphelion apart is its grounded approach. By working with the ESA, DON’T NOD has crafted a realistic depiction of near-future space exploration. However, don’t let the “science” label fool you—there is a distinct Alien vibe here. The stealth sequences against the Nemesis are designed to be genuinely tense, forcing you to use your environment and limited tools (like your pathfinder and oxygen tank) to stay alive.

“Aphelion is an emotional tale about love, resilience, and hope. It embodies our passion for powerful, cinematic experiences.” — Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DON’T NOD.

    Launch Details & Special Editions

  • So Say We All: Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes Touches Down May 11th

So Say We All: Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes Touches Down May 11th

The wait for humanity’s survival is almost over. Publisher Dotemu (Absolum, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion) and developer Alt Shift (Crying Suns), in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, have officially confirmed that Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes will launch on PC via Steam and GOG on May 11, 2026.

The announcement arrived alongside a pulse-pounding new gameplay trailer, giving us our most detailed look yet at the Cylons—the iconic, sentient robot antagonists who will spend every moment of the game trying to wipe your fleet from the stars.

A Desperate Flight Through the Stars

Drawing heavy inspiration from the legendary “33” episode of the 2004 reimagined series, Scattered Hopes places you in the cockpit of a Gunstar Captain. Your mission? Lead a ragtag fleet of survivors back to the safety of the Battlestar Galactica and Admiral Adama.

This isn’t a traditional power fantasy; it’s a tactical roguelite built on the principle of “resist until you can jump.” In this game, the Cylon force is overwhelming and relentless. Victory isn’t defined by wiping out the enemy fleet—it’s defined by surviving long enough for your FTL drives to spool up so you can escape to the next sector.

    Key Gameplay Features:

    • Real-Time Tactical Combat: Command fighter squadrons and manage your flagship’s defences in high-stakes space battles.
    • Fleet Management: Beyond the cockpit, you must manage your crew’s time, resolve internal conflicts, and scavenge for dwindling resources.
    • The Enemy Within: Just like the show, danger isn’t always outside the hull. Hidden Cylons and mounting crises will threaten to tear your fleet apart from the inside.
    • Roguelite Progression: No two runs are the same. Each attempt allows you to unlock new weapons, squadrons, and meta-upgrades to improve your chances in the next cycle.

    The Pedigree of Survival

Fans of the genre should be very excited about the names behind this project. Alt Shift is the studio that brought us the critically acclaimed Crying Suns, a game often described as “FTL meets Foundation.” Their expertise in narrative-driven tactical space sims makes them the perfect fit for the bleak, high-stakes atmosphere of Battlestar Galactica.

Meanwhile, Dotemu continues its streak of revitalising massive pop-culture franchises with high-quality, polished experiences.

“In Scattered Hopes, every decision matters as you manage your fleet in the shadow of relentless Cylon pursuit… the Cylons are always close behind, and survival depends on managing your crew’s time wisely.”

  • High Stakes, Small Planets: OBLITACRATER Launches Today on PS5, Xbox, and Steam!

High Stakes, Small Planets: OBLITACRATER Launches Today on PS5, Xbox, and Steam!

The wait for the ultimate “just one more round” arcade fix is over. Indie developer Strangely Named has officially launched their high-octane twin-stick shooter, OBLITACRATER, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Simultaneously, the game has shed its Early Access wings for a full 1.0 release on Steam.

If you’re a fan of classic arcade shooters but crave the tension of modern roguelikes, this is one to keep on your radar.

Risk vs. Reward: The Core Loop

OBLITACRATER takes place on a beautifully stylised, spherical 3D planet where the goal is deceptively simple: get the highest score possible. Every “drop” onto the surface adds to a single, continuous running score. You can escape at any time by hitting the “Big Red Button,” locking in your points and securing your spot on the leaderboards. But here’s the kicker: if you die, your entire running score—and your leaderboard position—resets to zero.

It turns every single encounter into a high-stakes gamble. Do you push for one more wave to break into the top 10, or do you tuck tail and live to fight another day?

    Key Features at a Glance:

    • Infinite Waves: Battle through 10 distinct (and strangely cute) alien species that grow increasingly deadly.
    • Massive Arsenal: Choose from 50 unique upgrades, ranging from stat boosts to secondary fire modes like lasers, mines, and rockets.
    • Unpredictable Upgrades: Feeling lucky? Random upgrades can give you a massive edge or a “buggy” handicap that turns the screen into a pixelated mess.
    • Dead Run Mode: For the true masochists—one hit and it’s game over.
    • Spherical Combat: Smooth, fast-paced traversal on a 3D planet that supports hundreds of enemies on screen at once.

    From the Developer

Developer Sen expressed excitement about the multi-platform launch:

“We’re thrilled for players to drop into OBLITACRATER and start climbing the leaderboards. We’ll be right there with you, chasing that number one spot. And once you’ve got the hang of things, jump into Dead Run mode, where the real challenge begins!”

    Where to Play

Whether you’re a console devotee or a PC purist, you can jump into the crater right now. The 1.0 release brings refined gameplay, a polished UI, and full controller support to ensure that every dodge and shot feels pixel-perfect.

    • PC: Available now on Steam
    • PlayStation 5: Check the PlayStation Store
    • Xbox Series X|S: Available via the Xbox Store

Are you brave enough to protect your score, or will you go down in a blaze of glory? Let us know your high scores in the comments below!

From Skylanders to Deep Space: Voidling Bound Set for June 9 Launch

The team that once brought toys to life is now bringing alien monsters to your PC. Hatchery Games, a studio founded by veterans from the Skylanders franchise (specifically hailing from Beenox), has officially entered the final development stretch for their debut title: Voidling Bound.

Mark your calendars—this sci-fi creature-collecting ARPG is slated to warp onto Steam and the Epic Games Store on June 9, 2026.

    Reinventing the Monster Tamer

If you’re expecting a cosy turn-based stroll through tall grass, think again. Voidling Bound is a high-octane third-person shooter that puts you in the boots of a “Space Wrangler.” Instead of just commanding your creatures from the sidelines, you form a neural bond and take direct control of your Voidlings in fast-paced combat.

Humanity is on the brink of extinction thanks to a nasty interstellar parasite, and these Voidlings are our only hope for a “Plan B.” You’ll be tasked with cleansing vibrant, handcrafted planets of corruption by shooting, slashing, and slamming your way through “bubonic” swarms.

    Deep Evolution and Customisation

Drawing on their experience with character-driven gameplay, the devs at Hatchery Games are going all-in on customisation:

    • Branching Evolution: There are 62 species paths to explore. Your choices affect elemental alignment, appearance, and combat abilities.
    • The Splicing Station: This is where things get truly “mad scientist.” You can mix and match body parts, colours, and eye genes, while equipping “Ability Genes” to create synergies that the devs describe as potentially “game-breaking.”
    • Breeding System: Hatchlings inherit attributes from their parents, allowing you to min-max your squad for the endgame challenges.

The Final Push: Try the Updated Demo

With the June 9 release date looming, Hatchery Games recently updated their PC demo on Steam. If you want a head start, the good news is that progress carries over to the full game.

    The latest version includes:

    • An updated animated narrative opening.
    • The new Gilick’s Cryo Branch area.
    • Significant performance optimisations to ensure those alien explosions look crisp.

“We wanted to reinvent the monster-taming genre by giving players the power to be the creature,” the studio shared in a recent developer update.

While the PC launch is the immediate priority, Hatchery Games has confirmed that versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 are planned to follow later.

Ready to start your collection? You can wishlist Voidling Bound on Steam now and prepare for the parasite purge this June.

Are you excited to see a more action-oriented take on the creature-collection genre?
