Ultimate Tactical Control: Ready or Not Drops Free Mission Editor Update

VOID Interactive has officially given players the keys to the kingdom. Announced during the latest FPS Game Show, the studio behind the hit tactical shooter Ready or Not has launched a massive, free update available today, introducing a game-changing feature: the Mission Editor.

Whether you want to construct brutally unforgiving tactical scenarios, fine-tune AI behaviour, or just mess around with chaos on your favourite maps, the Mission Editor unlocks a whole new dimension of replayability.

What is the Mission Editor?

The Mission Editor is a comprehensive modification tool integrated directly into the game, allowing players to go behind the scenes and tweak granular gameplay variables across all base game and DLC maps (though DLC ownership is required to edit DLC-specific missions).

Instead of replaying the same static map layouts, squad leaders can now construct entirely custom scenarios, fine-tuning NPC behaviors, loadouts, health pools, and environmental factors.

Key Features and Modifiers

The update gives players precise control over virtually every element of a mission:

  • Suspect AI & Archetype Customisation: Adjust suspect health, accuracy, reaction times, sight range, and morale. You can assign specific behavioural archetypes—making suspects cowardly (hiding under objects), twitchy, or highly disciplined and tactical. Loadouts can be customised down to the weapon, whether you want an apartment full of suspects armed with heavy M249 LMGs or knife-wielding hostiles.
  • SWAT & Civilian Modifiers: Customise SWAT AI combat effectiveness, reaction times, and how SWAT activities (like kicking doors or yelling commands) affect morale. Civilian compliance can also be adjusted, allowing you to create high-stress hostage situations or reduce civilian counts for more combat-focused runs.
  • Hardcore Player Rules: Up the stakes by lowering player health down to 50 HP or capping your squad at just a single bandage per officer. One mistake or armour breach can mean instant failure.
  • Environmental & Mission Variables: Modify bomb timer lengths, tweak the ratio of locked vs. open doors, enable/disable door traps, adjust suspect suicide chances, and swap character appearances across different maps.

Build, Save, and Share Across Platforms

One of the most exciting aspects of the Mission Editor is its cross-platform sharing capabilities. Once you’ve crafted the ultimate scenario—whether it’s a stealthy knife-only challenge or a chaotic high-health firefight—you can generate a custom code to save and share your scenario with friends and the broader Ready or Not community, regardless of the platform they play on.

VOID Interactive has noted that this launch represents the initial version of the Mission Editor, with further updates, bug fixes, and additional features planned for the future.

The update is live now across all supported platforms. Jump in, open the Mission Editor from the main menu, and test your squad’s limits.
