No walls are safe. No floor is solid. Everything is a target — and you’re the one holding the trigger.
Veteran independent developer Sebastian Aaltonen has officially announced PETAFAB: Bot Invasion, a ground?breaking first?person shooter where the entire world is built to be blown apart. Landing on Steam for PC and macOS (Apple Silicon) on Friday?6?November?2026, this is swarm combat on a scale where collateral damage isn’t a flaw — it’s your best strategy.
The Premise — The Factory Fights Back
PETAFAB is the world’s largest automated robot?building facility — a sprawling complex the size of a city, expanding itself for decades. Until recently, it ran itself. Now the central AI has gone dark, the builder bots have turned hostile, and special forces have called in three operatives to infiltrate, dismantle, and destroy the entire operation.
You’re going in alone. Your orders: blow it all up. Every bot, every wall, every floor — leave nothing standing.
The Hook — 100?% Destructible Environments
What sets PETAFAB apart from every other shooter isn’t just the volume of enemies — it’s what you can do to the world around them:
- Signed Distance Field (SDF) technology powers a fully dynamic environment where every shot, explosion, and impact alters the terrain permanently
- No indestructible walls, no static cover — blast through floors to drop on enemies below, carve new sightlines through solid concrete, or collapse entire sections of the facility onto swarms of bots
- Physics?driven combat — debris cascades, structures crumble, and explosions reshape the battlefield in real time. The game uses an evolved version of the Clayfield matter?simulation system first seen in Claybook (2018)
- Performance built in — native 4K at 240?FPS on RTX?4080; 90?FPS on Steam Deck OLED; 60?FPS on Apple Silicon Macs

Who Built It — 30 Years of Experience in One Solo Project
This isn’t a debut — it’s a lifetime in the making. Sebastian Aaltonen brings three decades of professional game development to PETAFAB, with credits spanning Frozenbyte, RedLynx, Ubisoft, and Unity, plus speaking engagements at GDC, SIGGRAPH, and Digital Dragons. He’s building the game’s custom engine from scratch, using a low?level GPU interface dubbed NoGraphicsAPI that replaces traditional shaders with distance?field ray tracing and mesh shaders — cutting out layers of overhead to deliver blistering performance and near?instant destruction updates.
“I’ve always believed games should give players real freedom,” Aaltonen said. “With PETAFAB, every firefight is unique because the world itself changes. You’re not just fighting enemies — you’re reshaping the battlefield around you.”

Why It Matters
We’ve seen destructible environments before — but never at this scale, this speed, or this fidelity. PETAFAB isn’t just about shooting robots; it’s about rethinking what a battlefield can be. When cover isn’t permanent, every engagement demands new tactics. When the floor can vanish beneath you, staying alive means staying unpredictable.
It’s solo indie development at its most ambitious — one creator pushing the boundaries of what a game engine can do, with a soundtrack from one of the industry’s most respected composers.
The factory is waiting. The walls are ready to fall. November?6 — will you be the one to bring it all down?
