Tactical shooter fans, gear up. MADFINGER Games has officially deployed Patch 0.4.5.0 for Gray Zone Warfare, delivering a massive evolution to the game’s core PvEvP ‘Warfare‘ mode. Hot on the heels of crossing an impressive 1.5 million copies sold milestone, this update responds directly to community feedback while injecting heavy-hitting visual tech into the fray.
Whether you’re hunting rival PMCs in Lamang or trying to optimise your frame rates, this patch changes the landscape entirely. Here is everything you need to know about what’s dropping in Lamang today.
Warfare Mode Evolved: A New Breed of PvP
MADFINGER Games is fundamentally reshaping how PvP engagements unfold. According to Creative Director Marek Rabas, the goal is to make every encounter organic, less predictable, and fraught with real consequence.
- Expanded & Masked Conflict Zones: Conflict Zones have been stretched from 300 to 400 meters. More importantly, they now centre dynamically around the defending PMC rather than spawning dead-centre between combatants. This stops attacking players from accidentally giving away their approximate entry vector, keeping stealth a viable tactic.
- High-Stakes Respawn Logic: If you get wiped out inside an active Conflict Zone, your tactical errors will cost you. You will now respawn back at your faction’s main Base Camp rather than the nearest Combat Outpost. This rewards the surviving squad with precious time to secure the area and extract with your hard-earned loot. (Don’t worry entirely—the first player downed in an engagement gets one legacy respawn at a nearby outpost to attempt a gear recovery).
- Outpost Lockdowns: Once a faction successfully captures a Combat Outpost in Warfare mode, opposing factions face a 30-minute cooldown before they can try to recapture it. This gives the controlling team a chance to establish a defensive hold and forces deliberate, tactical macro-movements across the map.
Squad Goals: Task Sharing is Finally Here
One of the most heavily requested quality-of-life updates has officially arrived: Squad Task Sharing. You no longer have to painstakingly sync up objectives individually. Squad members can now actively progress and complete mission goals together, drastically smoothing out team-based progression.
Next-Gen Visuals with NVIDIA DLSS 4.5
If you are running an NVIDIA GeForce RTX setup, your gameplay is about to get a whole lot smoother. Patch 0.4.5.0 integrates NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, utilising 2nd-gen transformer models to clean up noisy Unreal Engine 5 artefacts and shimmering foliage.
RTX 50-Series Bonus: For players rocking the absolute latest hardware, DLSS 4.5 unlocks Dynamic Frame Generation and advanced 6x Frame Generation settings, driving performance through the roof without sacrificing the game’s brutal, photorealistic atmosphere.
Summer Sales & Twitch Drops
To celebrate the game’s booming player base—surpassing 1.5 million players—MADFINGER Games is giving back to the community:
- Steam Summer Sale: From now until July 9, Gray Zone Warfare (including all special editions) is sitting at a hefty 33% off.
- Twitch Drops: Running from June 25 through July 15, players can link their accounts and watch participating GZW streamers to score exclusive Vietnam-era soldier sets, fresh weapon camos, and high-end consumables.
What’s Next?
MADFINGER Games has also confirmed they will be attending Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, where they plan to showcase a first look at Update 0.5 alongside a completely revamped long-term roadmap.
Lock and load, operators—Lamang just got a lot more dangerous.
