Meet Shoo: The Guardian Who Hates Hugs

In Hoomanz!, you play as Shoo, the mythical guardian of Planet Erf, a whimsical world where darkness is your ally and light is your enemy. Erf was once a peaceful realm of eternal night, until the noisy, clueless, and affectionate invaders known as the “Hoomanz” arrived, polluting the land and, worst of all, bringing blinding light.

Shoo’s mission is simple: scare them all away!

• Dark Shoo: In the shadows, Shoo is fierce, fast, and stealthy—the apex predator ready to deliver a terrifying scream.
• Light Shoo: Step into a light source, and Shoo transforms into a slow, vulnerable, and irresistibly cute fluffball. The Hoomanz’s worst reaction? An uncontrollable desire to chase you down and squish you with a hug! Shoo hates hugs, and getting caught means a quick respawn.

Gameplay: Stress, Scare, and Scoot!

Hoomanz! is a non-combat game, but don’t mistake that for being easy. Your objective is to make the Hoomanz so stressed out that a simple scare sends them “yeeting” off the planet.

How do you stress a Hooman? Shoo’s mischief-filled toolkit encourages creativity:

• Environmental Chaos: Sabotage lights, snap twigs, throw bottles, or lure them into dangerous traps.
• Luring: Use Shoo’s cute purr to draw a Hoomanz closer… then quickly retreat into the shadows!
• The Big Finish: Once a Hooman is stressed, sneak up as Dark Shoo and unleash a mighty scream to send them running.

The game is designed for all skill levels. It’s a “pick-up-and-play” experience with no punishing checkpoints or frustrating game-overs. Failure (getting a hug) simply means a quick reset, allowing you to experiment and find the most inventive ways to protect Erf.

Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game is visually charming, blending a whimsical atmosphere with the humorous antics of the invaders.
