The house remembers. Do you dare to understand?
A developer vanished while working on his final game. All that remained were his files — an unfinished build of Project Spooky, set inside Casa da Fonte, a place where every room holds a memory and every shadow conceals a secret. Now, independent studio Team 237 has pieced together what was left, bringing Álvaro Llorente’s haunting vision to life.
This is not a game about fighting monsters. It is a game about watching, listening, and connecting the pieces — and realising that some truths are better left undiscovered.
How you experience the horror
Project Spooky is built on three pillars: exploration, observation, and deduction. There are no weapons, no health bars, no direct combat — your eyes and your intuition are your only tools.
- Explore Casa da Fonte — a sprawling, shifting estate steeped in the folklore and atmosphere of northern Spain. The house does not stay the same; rooms change when you look away, and doors lead where they shouldn’t
- Connect clues — documents, objects, sounds, and echoes reconstruct the stories of those who lived and died here. Every chapter introduces fresh puzzles and hidden layers
- Seven unique chapters — each level operates by its own rules. Mirrors show what isn’t there; light keeps something out; sound guides you toward what you cannot see
- Hiding and chase sequences — when you draw too much attention, the house responds. Stay out of sight, move quietly, and survive the pursuit
- Meta-narrative framing — you are playing the recovered work of a missing creator. The line between the game’s story and its creator’s disappearance blurs as you progress
Understanding is the danger
The game’s core mantra says it plainly: “Fear doesn’t appear. It is constructed.” In most horror, knowledge brings safety — here, the more you comprehend, the more perilous the house becomes.
“A mirror may show you something that does not exist outside its reflection. Sound may guide you toward something you have never seen. Light may protect you… until you understand what it is really keeping away.”
