Check-In After Dark — Late-Night Check-In Brings Hotel Horror to Steam

The doors are locked, the halls are quiet… and something is waiting.

Independent developer Uncanny Works has announced Late Night Check-In, a spine-tingling psychological horror game arriving on Steam in Q2 2027. The Steam store page is live right now — and you can wishlist it today to keep one eye on the door.

A Shift That Shouldn’t Exist

You’re the new night receptionist at an old, out-of-the-way hotel. What starts as a routine graveyard shift — checking guests in, pouring drinks, keeping the lobby tidy — slowly unravels into something far more unsettling. Strangers arrive at strange hours. The corridors seem to stretch. And the secrets buried in this building are waking up.

  • Do your job — but watch your back — manage the front desk, serve room service, and follow procedure… even when the procedure feels wrong
  • Every guest tells a story — some are harmless, some are hiding something, and some… aren’t human
  • Late-90s retro aesthetic — warm, dated visuals that make the darkness feel all the colder
  • Slow-burn psychological dread — no cheap jump scares; just a tightening feeling that something is very wrong
  • Free demo coming Oct 26 — test your nerves during Steam Next Fest, directly from the game’s Steam page

Wishlist Now — Don’t Be Late

The Steam page is open right now. Add Late Night Check-In to your wishlist and be the first to know when the demo drops October 26 — and when the full game checks in next year.

Will you make it to sunrise? Or will this be your final shift?
