If you’re a fan of grid-based dungeon crawlers but also love the frantic, screen-wiping dopamine hit of survivor-style games, your next obsession has officially been revealed.
Indie developer iDiOSLAB and publisher NGJ have formally announced Delve Survivors—an ambitious new title that bridges the gap between classic turn-based roguelikes and the thrilling, fast-paced action of modern horde-survival games.
With a planned PC release estimated for Q4 2026 and console releases scheduled for Q1 2027, Delve Survivors is shaping up to be a standout title for retro enthusiasts and action RPG fans alike.
What is Delve Survivors?
At its core, Delve Survivors takes the tactical, turn-based grid movement of genre pioneers like Rogue, Angband, and Tales of Maj’Eyal, and injects it with the high-octane build-crafting of games like Vampire Survivors and Death Must Die.
It’s an East-meets-West collision designed to deliver intense, 15- to 30-minute runs packed with strategy, massive enemy swarms, and tons of rare loot.
Key Features to Get Excited About
- You Control the Pace: Unlike standard action-heavy survivor games where time never stops, Delve Survivors uses grid movement where every action you take advances time. Want to play fast and frantic? Sprint through the grid. Prefer to slow things down and calculate your next step? Take your time.
- Turn-Based Passive Combat: Attacks trigger automatically when you bump into or position near enemies, while active skills cool down turn by turn. Master positional strategy, trigger AoE attacks, inflict status effects, and summon allies as you navigate through enemy mobs.
- Deep ARPG-Style Looting: Loot resets aren’t limited to in-run perks. Collect equipment across familiar rarity tiers—from Magic to Legendary and Unique. Gear directly alters your stats, grants randomised enchantments, and opens up game-breaking build synergies.
- Play Your Way (3 Game Modes): * Casual: A forgiving RPG experience where you keep your loot and world progression even after death.
- Casual Rogue (Rogue-Lite): Start back at the first dungeon upon death, but retain your hard-earned gear.
- Hardcore: The true classic rogue experience. Permadeath means losing your run, your gear, and your progress.
- Town Hub & Endgame: Between runs, return to the Town Hub to upgrade gear, boost class stats, exchange items across characters, and gear up for deeper runs—including a rumoured 100-floor mega-dungeon awaiting the bravest adventurers.
Release Window
- PC (Steam / macOS): Planned for Q4 2026 (Estimated launch: November 2026)
- Consoles (PlayStation, Nintendo Switch / Switch 2): Planned for Q1 2027
Whether you’re an old-school dungeon-crawling veteran who appreciates precise turn-based planning or a casual player looking for quick, loot-filled survival runs, Delve Survivors is definitely one to add to your wishlist!
